Welcome once again to a Disassociative-Brand Personal Rankdown! The idea for this particular theme came about one day, when I was thinking about all the classic songs from the 80s that somehow weren't chart-successful enough, by some arbitrary definition, to land on a Billboard year-end Hot 100 list. Well, it's common knowledge that the 80s were the decade when synthesizers majorly imprinted themselves onto the face of popular music. So I gathered up a handful of these songs and combined them with some of my absolute favorite songs of all-time (whether mainstream or underground) that happen to be of the synthpop variety or related genres. Then I decided to develop this list into something of a chronological journey through the evolution of synthpop, adding various crucial and influential artists as well as making sure decades past the 80s received fair representation.
Acquaint yourself with these songs thoroughly, then PM me your ranking of all of them from best (#1) to worst (#45). As this is a synthpop RD I'll make special note (as has always been the case with my RDs) that you can rank any version of a song that you prefer--I know this is likely to come up with e.g. the Shep Pettibone mix of "Bizarre Love Triangle", etc.. Leave the artist names in or not, either way is fine, but be sure to number them. After sending your list, you may make changes to your ranks as long as you do so before the deadline. Results are determined by adding up each person's ranks for each song; the song with the least points wins.

{old text}This rankdown is not really officially underway. You can submit a list if you want, but I know with 1997 Alt and the 2018 RDs looming, we'll be busy enough without personal rankdowns too. Expect reveals no earlier than late January/early February.
