The video comes out today and its margins have still been good: Thank U, Next is going to be #1 this week with almost no room for doubt.
A Boon to Bombs
After a bit of rest and quiet, we've got a new swarm of album tracks incoming. First up is 6ix9ine's new album that technically dropped before the tracking week. While it likely won't get any high debuts for the 12/8 chart, expect a swath of them this week, because they're not letting up very fast. Then we've got Meek Mill's new project, chocked to the brim with A-list collabs (namely, Drake and Cardi B.) and his last project got quite a handful of debuts on the chart, so it looks like it's all but guaranteed to happen this time. Finally, though it's getting overshadowed by the priors, Lil' Baby's new project is also slamming into the streaming charts, so that might nab some debuts as well.
Peak Songs for Each: Either MAMA (feat. Nicki Minaj & Kanye West) or TIC TOC (feat. Lil' Baby) / 6ix9ine, Going Bad (feat. Drake) / Meek Mill, Pure Cocaine / Lil' Baby
Incoming Debuts
Good Form debuts with a new remix off the new deluxe version of Queen (which axes FEFE for it) and Mark Ronson returns with Miley Cyrus on Nothing Breaks Like a Heart. Neither are doing too well on on-demand yet, but they're starting strong on sales and YouTube.

I can smell a Meek Mill album bomb. Wish it would happen to Earl or Ski Mask the Slump God, but it makes sense.

Is that people are doing what these threads do and looking at chart formulas and chart points or do they simply see that the song is "near" the top of the market and are trying to maximize.
Either way the same result, but I don't think low chart points of other songs is the main driver

Am I the only one who thinks the music video for "thank u, next" barely fits the song? The song sounds even more dull with that video in which so much happens.

Apparently, the video for TUN already has 1 million likes. This will be huge. Probably up to 4 million views already. Kind of shocked it only has 1 million likes at this point.

Ariana's video is close to breaking Taylor's record for most views in 24 hours. I personally found the video boring and non replayable and just liked the Mean Girls reference. But I'm happy for her success this year.
Also, I'm going to guess that she will stay at #1 for at least another 3-4 weeks.

There has been a total of 10 number one hits in 2018 so far excluding Perfect. I hope 2019 has more number one hits cuz 6-10+ week number ones back to back can be a bit boring.

^^It's actually curious how several of those #1's ("Havana", "This Is America", "Psycho", "SAD!", "I Like It") weren't #1 for long. It's just that Drake dominated so much of the year and then "Girls Like You" spent what seemed like forever at the top (for such an unremarkable song).
