Widely known single from Labelle's last album Chameleon (1976). It peaked at #18 on the R&B chart It was later sampled on Nelly's 2004 hit "My Place" (#4 Hot 100 and R&B). The songs has entered pop culture phenomenon status thanks to this epic and iconic live performance Patti gave in 1985 on tour: The gifs it spawned were popularized by Brandysource last decade

This is one of Patti's many gems.
That 1985 performance of her gives me so much life every time I see it. I love she looks like she is literally caught up in the Holy Spirit and then she just lets go and starts rolling on the floor and continues to sing. I have to watch that at least once a week.

This would have to be their best song.

Patti sang the sh*t out of this song. The harmonies in the chorus are powerful.

THAT GIF!!! LMAO! Wow, I'd totally forgotten about it... Look at her writhing around on the floor... what a hot ass mess. Perfect example why Patti is just complete cringe and why I have always been #teamDiana. An actual, global legend and a dainty, elegant lady and charismatic performer.
As for the song, I've only listened to LaBelle's GH, and that was some years ago. Didn't like it all that much. This song is OK.

She feels the music and in that moment she is just letting go and letting it take over. I like Diana but she doesn't have the depth to perform like this.

And why did Diana Ross even come up? Two different artists in two different lanes...apples and oranges
