Oh thank GOODNESS! I might have tanked "Burning Man" but listening to it now, back to back with "Tequila" and omg did the right song win! BM is... fine. Dierks AND Brothers Osborne have WAY better...... but, "Tequila" is horrendous, Whiny mediocre Gary Levox style vocals over a dreadful cliched melody/beat/production? No thanks!

I was never in a million years expecting Dierks to have a shot of winning this thing, but tbh he earned this one fair and square. "Burning Man" was basically ranked in the top 45 by everybody except for four people! That level of consistency is extremely impressive in a rankdown of this size, with that large of a participant base!

So congrats to Dierks! I am secretly thrilled with this victory even though I was in the bottom half of the rankers for it, because it's so unexpected! I love being shocked by these things :)

And "Tequila" can fuck right off. That song should have been left in the 20s with "Speechless". It should have never been anywhere NEAR the top...

I do LIKE "Tequila". It's better than "Speechless" by a mile. But to almost win?! Even in a weak year like this, that ain't right... Dan + Shay themselves have done better, and yet never gotten this kind of recognition

The production in Butterflies is cute, particularly that autotune for the word "chrysalis". Also lyrics have cool double meaning of literally butterfly and "butterflies in my stomach"
I don't like A Little Dive Bar In Dahlonega that much despite my high ranking. The melody sounds weak and too atmospheric, but her vocal is strong as usual.
If only Hurricane didn't sound so alike to She Got The Best Of Me and maybe the latter is not overproduced, I would rank the latter higher. It is a bummer that his best singles (When It Rains It Pours and this one) didn't/won't make the Hot 100 year-end list...
Can we just remove somebody's list so that Space Cowboy will be above Mercy please? :sip2: It is Space Cowboy that won Best Country Song (songwriting oriented awards) on Grammys for a reason...Meanwhile that pathetic song got nothing from award shows ;)  (aside from some tragic live vocals)
High Horse is quite overrated if Kacey's discography is concerned. But it is still much better than the remaining two because it is really fun!
At least Tequila is out before Burning Man...that's kind of a relief I guess? The only good thing for Tequila is the banjo in interlude and that for Burning Man is the drums in pre-chorus. Both vocals are so meh especially for Dierks who sounds incredibly dull.

From the Ground Up is the only song from them that I have downloaded. The vocals in that one are solid.

I’m kinda happy with the winning song, actually. I knew Kacey wouldn’t win due to tankers (LOL at her still being able to get ALL of her songs in the top 10), but I was worried some basic song with irritating vocals (like Mercy or Tequila) would win it... glad to see Dierks and the Bros Osborne taking this!

This rankdown for a large portion was crap, but out of the Top 5 this was by far my favorite. Love "Burning Man", loved it made #1 and I love seeing my tank rankings of songs that I hate prevent them from winning ("Mercy", "Space Cowboy").

In the end a good winner is a good winner and I love that the song no one expected to win did.

I think what killed the Kacey fans was the quantity of songs she had in the rankdown. If she only had one or two, y’all could have United more than you did because there was so many. The Kacey haters would have less of a chance to do what was thankfully accomplished.

I’m actually a casual Kacey fan and didn’t care she lost but “High Horse” is AMAZING and better than the two songs that won. I really wish Maren won.

man that was close. i think if Dan + Shay had won this rankdown. i would have called it quits on these rankdowns. man how did that whiney shittier rascal flats version crap make it to #2 lol. well at least Burning Man killed it and that song is good.

Wow really unexpected but good winner nonetheless.

Tequila is not even in my top 5 favorite Dan + Shay singles to be honest but they're the ones who really got me into country so there'll always be a special place for them at the top.
