Another quasi-lead single bites the dust as "Compass" misses out on the top fifteen by an over 50 point margin! sabre14 loses his first top five while Zach finally has his bottom five cleared with this elimination. FYI: here's what's remaining for out top fifteen as I'll get us to the top ten tonight (one way or another!): Love Don't Live Here Lookin' for a Good Time I Run to You All We’d Ever Need Need You Now American Honey Our Kind of Love Love This Pain Just a Kiss We Owned the Night Downtown Goodbye Town Bartender Lie With Me Heart Break
Kicking off the top fifteen is another album track that is also someone's #1!

"Dancing Away with My Heart" is Lady Antebellum at their most basic, and boring. Seriously they sound boring to sing this lifeless song.
I wish "Compass" would've made the Top 10. Such a fun uptempo song and sounds great in the warmer months.

"Compass" is straight ass. Awful melody. Majorly overstayed.

Unless it's like cream of the crop artists for me I tend not to do it, and I have been relatively busy. I tend to do year end rankdowns, as I tend to be more familiar with those lists.

She is one of my all time favorite vocalists, and I think she is a bit criminally underrated here on Pulse.

Releasing “Compass” was unnecessary considering album tracks like “Better Man” and “All For Love”

The group's most successful album to date takes it's first hit with the pre-release track "Love This Pain" kicking off the top 15. ClevelandRox's #1 leaves the rankdown along with Troublemaker's final bottom five. This was considered a missed opportunity to be a radio single by a lot of us.

Releasing “Compass” was unnecessary considering album tracks like “Better Man” and “All For Love” Or that they went through the trouble of doing a re-release to include "And the Radio Played," and then never send that to radio as a single, even though that would've easily been a huge smash and far bigger than "Compass" ever was.

I don't think I will ever get the whole "And The Radio Played" hype and how it would've been a huge single. Unlike say a "Song For Another Time" or heck even "Ladies In The 90s" I never felt like the other song refrences flowed together naturally all that well.
Add in the nature of 2013 and 2014 in country radio where you basically got a hit by either A. Bro country or parody bro country (Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Cole Swindell, Thomas Rhett, Brantley Gilbert, "Girl In A Country Song") B. Drinking songs ("Bartender" and "Day Drinking") C. You were Carrie Underwood or Miranda Lambert or D. You made music that was really pop leaning (Keith Urban, Blake Shelton).
I don't think "And The Radio Played" really fit any of those marks. "Compass" at least had a somewhat pop leaning production and had a melody that people found catchy, heck I still here it on radio to this day. "Compass" was the safe bet and they had to play it 100% as safe as possible. Especially since they just had their biggest shock of an underwhelming finish in "Goodbye Town" and a lot of new artists were emerging, add in "Bartender" sounding like a perfect summer song (I think they recorded that around April) and it always made sense why "And The Radio Played" got left behind.

Lol, "And the Radio Played" was textbook for country radio: they love name-dropping songs like that and Lady A was still doing well at the time so it absolutely would've been at minimum a top 10 hit. I find "Compass" to be far less catchy, but even acknowledging that some people enjoyed it even when I didn't, I can't grasp how you could think "And the Radio Played" didn't sound like something that would've been a hit. It sounded like a total slam dunk.

Lady A's fifth studio album 747 takes another fatal blow as the UK single "Lie With Me" gets nixed. Two people put this in their top three with seven others putting it in their top ten. On the brighter side of things, me and castleoblivion26 lose our final bottom sixes together! A part of me actually wanted to choose the title track for this rankdown instead, but we'll more than likely get to rank the album later this year.

I respectfully disagree with you on this, I see where you're coming from, I just don't see the appeal in the song. Sorry. :|

Similar to 747 and Heart Break, Own the Night is now down to having only one song remaining with "We Owned the Night" making it's departure, which I'm sure has come too soon in the eyes of Zach , ClevelandRox , bboat11 , Troublemaker , CF15 , and austin . Again, George Strait Junkie finally loses his last bottom five with this reveal like a handful of us have recently. Initially, I didn't like "We Owned the Night" due to the glaring lack of a chorus, but as the years have gone by, it has grown on me quite a bit. Anyone wanna take guesses at what'll miss the top ten? I can also confirm that an album of theirs will be eliminated before reaching the top ten; which one will it be? There's also only one remaining album track "All We'd Ever Need" from their debut album (whose RD will be coming soon!), which has yet to take a hit. How much farther will AWEN go?

My top ranks are getting slaughtered. :( At least "Compass" is out. It is one of the few songs from them that never really did anything for me.

I used to like "We Owned the Night" a lot more - it just feels like not a lot happens in the song, it's a perfectly fine song though, I still like it.
One album getting eliminated.... makes me think "Heart Break" is leaving before hitting the top 10 ("Just a Kiss" seems like it would make top 10 even if it's "Need You Now" 2.0). My guess is that one and then maybe "Our Kind of Love"?
