From what I can tell, this looks like the official Mediabase chart.

From what I can tell, this looks like the official Mediabase chart. It is. After taking break to use their own chart, last year, they're back to the published Mediabase chart, this year.

I like the fact that AT40 uses Mediabase's year end chart. That is what AT40 is based on anyway. A good fit.

I like the fact that AT40 uses Mediabase's year end chart. That is what AT40 is based on anyway. A good fit. I guess that is based on the actual number of spins accumulated throughout the year. Which I guess is as an objective way to do this as any, though it results in some 2017 hits reappearing (like "Feel It Still" and "Strip That Down"), while some late 2018 hits arguably get shortchanged ("Youngblood" "God Is a Woman").

Drake - Nice For What #50. Khalid - Young Dumb & Broke Of those, "1-800..." was more of a 2017 hit, while "No Brainer", "Lie", "I'm a Mess", and "Lucid Dreams" arguably came too late in 2018 for their whole impact to be captured here (though "No Brainer", especially, fell off AT40 pretty steeply so maybe not). "Nice For What" might have been bigger had it not been overshadowed by "In My Feelings", which surged forth based in part on a viral dance challenge which had the effect of branding it a novelty hit in the minds of many, and after reaching the top 10 it too plunged rather sharply off the chart.

Ryan mentioned that "Broken" by lovelytheband is the #1 alternative song, "Boo'd Up" by Ella Mai is the #1 Urban song, and "Reputation" by Taylor Swift is the #1 album of 2018. I Like it.
Also, I like good seletion of extras in this show.
For your information, this chart (i.e. published Mediabase Year-End chart) is tabulated based on total spins from November 12, 2017 through November 10, 2018.

I like it when he mentions tops of the other charts. Reminds me of the good old days with Casey and Shadoe.

This is a great list! I don't know why Good Old Days beat What Lovers Do though. Good Old Days had a much lower peak and fell off the chart before WLD. I am happy to see Lauv in the Top 20. I knew New Rules would get # 1, but it's weird to have a 2017 song be the # 1 of 2018. I don't think that has ever happened on AT40 before. Except maybe in 2002, when Nickelback was # 1 for the year with How You Remind Me.

And while “New Rules” debuted in 2017, the vast majority of its run in the top 10 was in 2018, and it was in the top 10 all the way until early May and is still getting tons of recurrent airplay.

Ryan listed the Top 5 films of the year. Most if not all of them were either sequels and/or superhero films. #1was “Black Panther.”

I guess since they haven’t had a hit on the chart in 10 years it was out of respect.
