46: Ride or Die - Not bad but not great either.
45: One Night Only - I've liked all their singles, but this is probably the weakest of the five they've released.
44: Shame - Yeah, landed about where it should be.
43: Colors - Finally. Worst single off the era, and although I was too harsh on it in retrospect, in no way should it have beat songs like "Nausea" or the 90s singles we've ranked so far.
42: Tidal Wave - Oooohhhh-oooooh-oooooooooooooooh
41: Screws - Generic indie rock taken to the max. Might have been too harsh on this, like Colors. Bottom 25 cleared!
"Ohio" is decent but not great. I like "Creature Comfort" more than most here. "Highway Tune" I would have ranked higher than "When the Curtain Falls".

55. Dashboard Confessinal - We Fight.I have to confess that I really don't like this song. Its just that this year was musically BAAAAAAd, and this seemed like a masterpiece among these other songs. 54. Superorganism - Everybody Wants To Be FamousThe sounds and melody are not all together bad. Her vocals are good, but I hate the effects she puts on them. For quirky I turn to Confidence Man. They have more of an 80's vibe. This band has a Japanese and Korean member in there, but I honestly prefer J-Metal and even K-Pop to this. 53. Two Feet - I feel Like I'm DrowningExactly how I felt when I heard this on the radio. Boy am I glad this had more haters...and with this travesty out my bottom 10 is cleared. That's gotta be some sort of record here for me.  52. Bear hands - Back Seat DriverDecent song. Had some nice aesthetic 80's vibes, but they seemed too afraid to go full on 80's, so it kinda falls flat. Also first time viewing the single cover art. I think that one is an interesting choice image. 51. Jukebox The Ghost - Everybody's Lonelyeh, I sort of done with this sound. Two years ago I might have upgraded it a bit. BTW, This sounds more like Mika than Queen. Queen's songs were never this lame. 50. Bastille - Quarter Past Midnight. First listen: This is Pretty cool. Download? Check. Second listen with MV: Why did he cut his hair? Third listen: I really can't stand those Ehehehe's in the verse. Delets MP3 from file. 49. The 1975 - Give Yourself a Try. Love the New Wave vibe. The lyrics are an incoherent mess, but I love them. The whole music video is quirky fun. I like this one better than the current one on the Alt chart. 48. SYML - Where's My LoveThis was straight out "suck the "lifeforce out of me" garbage. Imagine my surprise to know they sing the awesome "Clean Eyes"? I'll probably give it the highest rank next year? 47 . Imagine Dragons - Whatever It TakesImagine me not putting this band in the bottom 10.  46. The Knocks - Ride Or Die (feat. Foster The People)Not bad at all. Good upbeat vibe, but I really didn't need a faster version of "Sit Next To Me" that's basically what this was. 45. The Struts - One Night OnlyF U C K , F U C K ,F U C K and F U C K. I knew it was me when peacebone said first top 10 loss.  This went #1 on my personal chart, so I'm just being consistent. Plus I love The Struts. Damn you guys. I almost made it into the top 40 with my top 10 intact. That's gotta be a record for me? This performance is pure gold. 44. Elle King - ShameWas anyone else kinda turned on by this full figure woman? Anyway, this is A song I never paid any attention to while it was on the chart, but sounded really good to me while doing this rankdown. Hence my surprise rank for Elle King. Her best song yet. 43. Beck - ColorsI kinda dug this car commercial jingle, the MV reminded me of that stupid "handjob" from Fitz and The Tantrums. 42. Portugal. The Man - Tidal Wavethis song is a bunch of absolutely nothing but watching clay figures move around for about 3 minutes. 41. DREAMERS - ScrewsThis is another one of those songs I was sorta ,kinda ,almost regretful of not charting, but not really. Chorus is cool. |

It works a lot better for me as a piano-vocal piece instead of the fully-produced version.
Thank you 'Killjoys' (Canadian sci-fi show of all places lmao) for introducing me to that song - and particularly, this version of it.

Lost my #3 but also lost a ton of songs in my bottom half leaving me with only 4 songs left there while clearing out my bottom 20.
Except for my #74 I really don't mind that the remaining songs in my bottom half made the top 40.
Particularly glad to see "Body Talks" win out over "One Night Only".
