For a while, it looked like this song would hang out somewhere in the middle of the top ten. And then, it started to climb. Eventually, it pushed itself into the top three conversation with "The Gold" and its top two opponent. It didn't seem like it would break through, but it pushed, it prodded...and then FINALLY made its way into the top two once and for all late.
So, I guess you can say that The Killers did not...run for cover. My condolences, rowellfarm490, @xfer, and dm2081. Congrats on clearing your bottom ten just before the #1 spot, woods.
Despite how much time this song spent at #1...it wasn't a given that it would end up here. It fought back and forth with "The Gold" for most of the rankdown for the #1, only ever seeming to hold on to a marginal (as in less than a full ranking) lead for most of the rankdown. Then, a funny thing happened: This song started pulling away. Eventually, it got to the point that not even a few late naysayers could hold her back.
Congrats on your #1 P-P-P-P-PERFECT RANKING, @carseatlegrest, singingrulebritannia, Butterflies & Hurricanes, and my co-host with the most, peacebone.

Okay, I think I underranked "Run for Cover" but I still by far prefer "Los Ageless", and I'm glad it won even if I hadn't participated! Great winner!!!

Los Ageless is a pretty good song and I'm not upset about it winning, I honestly underranked it.
But still, The Gold deserved the #1 spot. It really did. It had 9 #1s. NINE. And it's fucking bullshit that it wasn't top 2

I wanted the Killers to win so bad, cuz I fear they might change their music style by the next album. This would have been a perfect song for them to win with. BTW. woods should have stayed in the woods.  "Los Angeles" on the other hand is not a bad song at all. I like this style of instruments I just want them to be a bit more peppy or at least have a nice aesthetic music vibe. |

10: Lash Out - Yeah I'm glad this beat "No Roots". First perfect ranking, finally.
9: Live in the Moment - Good song but does not deserve to be top 20.
8: Sorry - Remember when we thought this flopped on radio? Thank KROQ for resurrecting it, as it's still one of the better songs of that year.
7: I Hope You're Happy - It's no "Into the Ocean", but at least they still made one of their best singles.
6: Pink Lemonade - Great song that deserved better on Alt. Yeah the same could be said about most of this top 10.
5: Numb - Ah yes, this was a pleasant surprise from her. The guitars are so great!
4: She's Kerosene - Another jam that I'm fine with it's placing.
3: The Gold - The lyrics, the vocals, the music, pretty much make this such a great song.
2: Run for Cover - Thank God this didn't win. It's a great song but I feel is slightly overrated. Which means...
1: Los Ageless - ALL HAIL QUEEN ANNIE CLARK! It might not be my #1, but Los Ageless is an extremely worthy winner nonetheless.
