I just want to see a Maroon 5 and Drake collab where it's at number one for 17 weeks to watch the world burn.

It's strange how both halves of the decade seem to be different, the first is basically all bubblegum while the second leans more urban. Kind of like the opposite of the early 2000's, the first half was urban while the second was pop.

2015 is like both bubblegum and urban. It's the bridge in between eras I would also say 2016 was not too urban as Trop Pop was a big trend that year.

2016 is more Edm than Urban (IMO) In my opinion, 2016 are both dominated by EDM and Urban. The first half were Urban (led by Drake, Rihanna's ANTI) then the second half were EDM (led by The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix etc)

Yeah, I think 2016 is the bridge. I donโt hear a lot of Trop pop nowadays.

2012 was the year where we started to see the change imo, because that's when dance-pop songs finally started under-performing. And then in 2013 we saw lots of urban-influenced songs be hits like Thrift Shop, Blurred Lines, Royals, We Can't Stop, Get Lucky, etc.

What you originally said and what you quoted from Wiki are saying two very different things. I didn't mean to turn this into a debate on the issue though.

Other than SAD!, Sicko Mode and This is America (without the video), I like all those tracks.
Havana and I Like It in particular feel like they could become staples/classics/well remembered.
Girls Like You will probably enjoy a lenghty run as a radio recurrent. It's the type of song HAC and AC will play forever.
thank u, next might be remembered as a huge turning point for Ariana's career too. The video helps it too.
Have no idea how the Drake songs will age. IMF in particular might be too closely tied to the meme thingy to have much longevity. The other two might though! God's Plan was a huge moment for him.
I think SICKO might have the worst chance of being remembered in the long run. Ditto SAD! because of how much it was tied to his death.

Nice For What is probably my personal favourite #1 of the year. Followed by I Like It, and then Thank U, Next. I still wish NTLTC had been Arianaโs first #1 but Iโll take what I can get. The rest of them I donโt really remember/care about.

SAD! will probably end up in the same ballpark as the posthumous Biggie songs I can't in any way see "SAD!" being as well remembered as "Mo Money Mo Problems". There aren't many #1 songs from the 90s period that are as well remembered as that song. Even "Hypnotize" just got a moment in 'Spider-Verse'. Those songs are multi-generational classics. I actually like "SAD!" a lot but I don't see it having that kind of longevity.

SAD! will probably end up in the same ballpark as the posthumous Biggie songs I lke SAD!, but if it ends up in the same discussion as classics like "Mo Money Mo Problems", "All Eyez on Me", and "Hypnotize", I will be a bit disrespected by that.

Great year! I don't like ILI and GLY but I have appreciation for Cardi and M5 because they are/were really good artists in their peaks.
