It’s so nice to get a song about buying whatever you want right in the middle of a time when so many Americans aren’t getting paychecks.

The fact that these conversations about it being ripped off only highlights how unoriginal and forgettable this song is. It’s built off of a sample, and the original bits are quite generic in terms of melody and flow. I’ve always f**ked with her singles, so this era has been a disappointment. She’s coasting off of her general popularity right now. If Camilla Cabeza released this, it’d be getting dragged. Yeah, it really is so generic. And what's doubly disappointing, she's inarguably at her peak and could be releasing ANYTHING... and we get this. This is the time in her career she should be taking musical risks and releasing bolder (and better) material. It's the difference between being a trend setter and chasing trends. And she's clearly chosen the easier path this go round. All three tracks so far have been so harmless and basic. At least give me this style with some f**king teeth, this is childish BS. She's gonna be successful, but this isn't going down in the books as anything but a throwaway bop. Which is fine, but when you become a premier artist, I expect and hope for more.

This is definitely a risk, she hasn't released anything like this before and she's trying to see if people like her making this kind of music.

This is sing-songy, desperate for a meme, kiddie trap-lite. And it's made specifically to get maximum streams, which it's going to do. It's literally music by the numbers.

Don’t worry sis guarantee Needy and RemeMber WILL be those bops. Any ya’ll think she can possibly pull off a string of 3 number ones in this era. Got a feeling one of those other songs on the album have a great shot.

How can a flow be stolen? A melody, sure, but a flow? It's just a rhythmic pattern, there's only so many rhythmic patterns that can exist. In the rap world, a distinct flow is the melody, even more so for those who have a monotone flow (without variance in notes or volume, the cadence is the sole star of the show). That Soulja probably wouldn't win a suit if he tried it says more about the very different/arguably double standard that exists in hip-hop vs. other genres when it comes to copyright protection. Robin Thicke and Pharrell got pinned down over 'essence' and Ed Sheeran is being sued over chord progressions, but Ariana is literally lifting a whole vocal style and has people getting pressed at the thought of her having to even give credit, never mind coins, to Soulja for it. Commercial hip-hop itself doesn't help - hip-hop is known for eating its own young when it benefits someone at the top of the food chain and either shrugging when someone points it out or just letting the streets be the judge, so to call an outsider out for doing it might seem hypocritical. I have always found it interesting how expectations are night and day when a different genre is involved.

Like LWYMMD's first week performance.
P.S.: I changed my profile pic to show that I support pop artists (The one in ny profile pic is Tove Stryke if you didn't know). I support pop artists who make good music and put effort into it.

Nokia tried it. That flow wasn’t new when she used it either.

Louis Vuitton has some nice rings that are only $350. Lucky for me, I only have 5 best friends and one of them loses her own name frequently, so she ain't getting shit!

Yeah, she released a snippet a couple of months ago. I think we got the snippet before TUN, even? So her fans are really wound up right now with her releasing pretty much everything except that one song.

I understood maybe 1/2 of what she sang in that “Needy” clip.

I mean, the Nokia girl can try but Ariana is an iPhone. Her songs sound nothing alike and she remains unbothered.

Lmao unless this song tanks, I can't see how it won't debut at #1. With these spins it’ll probably debut this week at ~#70 based on 3 days of radio. How many spins did LWYMMD have when it debuted?

This is decent. It's not what I was expecting and its nothing ground breaking but it's a fun bop.

Omg not "blaccent" . The shit us starting already. I think alot of the Pop fans really don't like when artists try songs like this, but like it's only one song, and so far the tun singles have all different sounds..is that a bad thing?

They don't owe him s***. It's a common rap flow and barely sounds the same. Y'all need to take a seat. Ed Sheeran had your mentality and now he’s paying Kandi and Tiny every time he performs Shape of You.

It’s so nice to get a song about buying whatever you want right in the middle of a time when so many Americans aren’t getting paychecks. You would have loved the entertainment industry during the Great Depression then.
