Ariana Grande has just dropped her newest single ‘7 Rings’. Personally, I’m not feeling the song, as predicted. I also believe the song won’t sit well with the gp. Seems like it’ll go top 10 solely because the music video will be dropped today (Friday).

The streaming crowd might bite for the trap thing but I'm guessing she's too much of an outsider to the genre for most fans to fully support her... and radio won't bite. Can we get "everytime" as a single instead?
I might be wrong tho.

I can't think of an epic all female collaboration since "Lady Marmalade" and "The Boy Is Mine" Beyonce and Rihanna would've been perfect for "The Boy Is Mine" in 2008 or something Problems exist Yes, they definitely do. |

I remember this being said with End Game, APESHIT, Bon Appetit, Fetish, even Ariana’s Everyday, etc. We see how that worked out.

Consumption report for the first week of 2019 (in comparison to the first week of 2018).  Same old, sales down / streams up. Digital sales are declining quicker though (only declined 27% in 2018), and audio streams are still growing at similar pace and not slowing down. |

I guess I have to come here to discuss next week's chart despite it being off topic, as Juan Carlos doesn't realize that the tracking week begins today, so discussions about 7 Rings and numbers for next week should be in that thread.
I think Ariana getting #1 is definitely possible, but not a guarantee like everyone thinks. It all depends on how it holds up during the week.

I guess I have to come here to discuss next week's chart despite it being off topic, as Juan Carlos doesn't realize that the tracking week begins today, so discussions about 7 Rings and numbers for next week should be in that thread. We still have three days of airplay to account for this week as well, though. Discussion for "7 rings" can take place here since it does have a chance to debut this week with any radio deals it might have. I think Juan Carlos is smart enough to know when a tracking period begins and ends, so there's no reason to get snarky. IMO, we shouldn't be making new threads until we get sufficient data to discuss, which would mean tomorrow when we get the first numbers of next week's streaming data. |

7 Rings isn’t being sent to main radio formats until next week per Gary Trust, so no, it has basically nil chance of debuting on the 1/26 chart and is thus off-topic. I implore the mods to reopen the 2/2 thread posthaste.
