From 1980's Mad Love (which at the time was the highest debuting album by a female artist in the US when it entered at No. 5). This received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance Female but lost to Pat Benatar.

One of her few hits that wasn't a cover. Peaked at #10 on the Hot 100. She excelled at so many different genres.
Great song.

Linda was mostly was known in the 70's for her country rock sound with covers of older r&b songs. as she went into the 80's she did mostly ac type ballads and pre rock jazz . then there is this release in 1980 which was her tribute to the new wave sound . she was very versatile.

This is THE song I knew her for when I was a kid —until Don’t Know Much, which I loved me and took me to discover Somewhere Out There. I’ve always loved this one. She sounds great and the song packs a strong punch with its sound and her vocals. A jam
