Artist: Gone West Single: "Gone West" Writers: Colbie Caillat, Justin Kawika Young, Danelle Reeves, Jason Reeves Album: Tides (EP) Label: Triple Tigers Records
Billy Kidd of WBEE put "Gone West" up as their 'Music Meeting Song of the Day', which indicates a new radio single.
This had to be the debut single imo. We can't stop raving about it where I work as well. It has by far the most streams out of the four songs on the EP. Great song.

This is phenomenal. I know we're *only* a month into 2019, but I think this might be the best country song I've heard come out of this year yet. Gives me a strong Gloriana/"Wild at Heart" vibe, but I love this one even more than that song (which I was a big fan of at the time it was released). With there being such slim pickings with country music groups these days with only Old Dominion really having constant success, Midland only just beginning to build up their presence, and so many (basically all) of the "old guard" (Little Big Town, The Band Perry, Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, etc.) falling out of favor and/or having inconsistent success, I sense a lot of potential with this song and Gone West as an entity. I have a good feeling about them being on Triple Tigers too given the credentials they have so far with breaking Russell and Scotty out so well in the past 1-2 years. Consider me highly optimistic and excited about the future of this awesome single!

Makes sense. The only song that has a music video on the EP.
Have they been on a radio tour long? Feels like they were just signed and Triple Tigers is really fast tracking them to radio. Hopefully they give some time before delivering this to radio and an add date (like a March add date).
I am somewhat optimistic about this song success, and the group in general just because the other male/female groups careers with radio are either dead (The Band Perry lol), hit or flop (Little Big Town) or winding down (Lady Antebellum).
Pleasant surprise that the girl that was a member of The JaneDear Girls, Nelly Joy actually has a pleasant singing voice. Just because, from what I remember they (JaneDear Girls) were critically panned for the most part, particularly the song "Merry Go Round".
Definitely intrigued how radio and fans respond to this group.

They’re a priority at Triple Tigers. They need to visit radio stations (a song that dance that most artists have to do for success) but they have star potential written on them. The chorus melody of this one is phenomenal and many melodies nowadays are catchy but the harmonies displayed during it is one aspect that sets it apart, as does the structure — it’s just different and easily recognizable, in a world (mainstream radio) of predictability. I also am one who loves when all the members of a group/band singing lead at some point — it’s one of the biggest draws of Little Big Town’s music.
Also, it has vivid painting picture lyrics and that dobro solo after the bridge, that was such a nice touch!

There so is fantastic, and as .indulgecountry said definitely getting early Gloriana vibes in a good way! Love, love Home is Where The Heartbreak Is, but this is probably the best single choice of the four options.

I’m THRILLED this is likely getting pushed to radio. I’ve been a fan of Colbie Caillat ever since "Bubbly" so I really hope this song can see success. Definitely an early contender for my favorite single of the year.

These guys are so good! I actually think they’re going to be bigger than Gloriana.

This EP is so much better than most introductory efforts. I'm really impressed with them and their whole "Paniolo country" thing. It just works. The songwriting is great, and this is such a happy medium of pop and country. I think that "Confetti" is way less successful and much more cheap feeling (to me at least), so of course The Highway is playing that one...
But I love the other two tracks on this record, and I feel like if they err on the side of being respectful to the roots of country (as they are on "Gone West" with the dobro solo) instead of trying to just use the genre, they will be really popular. So much talent involved!

I am thrilled this is the single. This deserves to be a massive hit. Their harmonies are stellar and the melody is infectious.

Would LOVE to see this do well. Admittedly, I gravitate towards "Confetti" just a little more but...let's hope radio embraces this song, this band, and their harmonies.
Here's to hoping 2019 gives us more harmonies & less production. (wishful thinking, I know)

I'm also a Colbie Caillat fan, she's one of my top5 favorite singers, and at first I was a little bit disappointed about this group instead of her solo career, but they're good together. This EP is amazing, I loved this single, and from what I've been seeing, people are enjoying it too.

I absolutely love this. I am surprised how much, actually. I didn't realize Colbie didn't just write this - she is IN the group. I also loved the JaneDear Girls. Are the guys from recycled groups too?

Are the guys from recycled groups too? Justin Kawika Young is engaged to Colbie Caillat, and has been releasing music since the 90's. He's from Hawaii. Jason Reeves is a singer-songwriter, who is married to Nelly Joy (aka Danelle Leverett) of Gone West (JaneDear Girls). He's collaborated as a songwriter and producer for Colbie's music, including co-writing "Bubbly." He's also released music himself, including as a duo with Nelly Joy. All four members have known one another for quite some time.

All four members have known one another for quite some time. Wow, that info gives me a weird and random blast from the past. Jason Reeves was featured on "Droplets", which was an album cut on Colbie Caillat's album titled "Breakthrough". I heard that song way back, almost ten years ago just before I left my hometown and broke up with my girlfriend and the first line stopped me cold. " I'm Leaving you/Not sure if that's what I should do." It was one of those strange, almost surreal moments when a song you've never heard before somehow intersects with the details of your life and says exactly what you're feeling as if you'd written it yourself in that moment. Very weird. Anyway, I listened to "Droplets" nonstop for my first few weeks after I moved, then put it away and never heard it since.

Does anyone know if this song is being promoted to radio at all? I know this song and Confetti have both seen plays on The Highway but i have no idea if this is being pushed at radio at all. If not, i wonder why? I feel like having someone like Colbie Caillat tied to this there would be more buzz going on with this group. Their EP was really good. I'm hopeful there will be more to come, and i would love to see this or Confetti (or both) become big hits! I've been a big fan of Colbie since her Bubbly days so i really hope they have a chance to succeed.

Is there a plan for a second album. Or it was just a simple ont time project? I believe they are separated after Colbie’s relationship with the other member fell out. FYI, it is discouraged to revive an old thread like this here, I’d suggest using Non-Single discussion thread if you have comments on older singles :)

Is there a plan for a second album. Or it was just a simple ont time project? 1) Stop bumping old song threads. This + several other posts you just made were in threads for songs that are no longer charting so you should inquire about them elsewhere. 2) A quick Google search would've answered your question that the group disbanded shortly after they dropped their one-and-only album. They will not be releasing another.
