As I mentioned in the 1981 thread, I've been putting together a database of all the songs that charted on the Billboard Hot 100 during the 1980s. I recently finished the 1982 chart year. I have also completed 1983 through 1986. Here are the best performing songs based on inverse points that we did not rank for 1982. They are the next songs up that did not make a year-end top 100 and which peaked in the 1982 chart year. Also included are the song's peak and number of weeks on the Hot 100.

Tonight I'm posting the top 95 for KLOS 95.5 FM. This rock format station has been around since 1969. They were inclined to the more hard side of rock, but started playing New Wave songs in the early 80's. New Wave A.K.A. Modern Rock was taking the charts by storm, so its natural that they would play the latest Missing Persons, Motels, and A Flock Of Seagulls hits too.  * I can't recall what band sang #12. This could apply to several songs in this rankdown honestly lol, a lot of them have been overplayed. But if it's one specific song that I recall you've ranked low in a rankdown before...well, you have my assistance in tanking it ;)

Alright I got my list in last second. This year was better than 80 and 81 pretty easily for me. I will say though the bad songs really stood out like a sore thumb. Looking at you Air Supply And Chicago.

I'm exactly the opposite. The overplayed songs are the ones I put extra high because they sound better each time. ;)

One thing I need to mention is that the list I had originally posted for this rankdown had "A Love Song" by Kenny Rogers at No. 72 for the year but it should have actually been "Love Will Turn You Around." I was hoping that I changed it in time for most of you to not have noticed and some of you even caught the mistake and ranked "Love Will Turn You Around." So, if anyone wants to amend their list feel free to do so otherwise if I don't hear from you I'll just swap out "A Love Song" for "Love Will Turn You Around." Apologies for the oversight there.
