So I’m reading that Billie is the first female to sweep the big four - as far as I know Christopher Cross has done this in the past, is she the second ever artist to do this or am I missing someone?

Scooter screwed up again. They should've gone all-in with "thank you, next" for all categories. "7 Rings", while iconic, doesn't cater to the Grammy audience enough. Although I do expect it to win big at the Billboard Awards.
Poor Lana. That's who I'm hurting for. She did everything RIGHT!

I feel bad for Ariana. I don’t mind Billie winning AOTY, but I think “Thank U, Next” should’ve taken home Pop Vocal Album. She busted her ass the last year and was such a prominent part of the zeitgeist. Aside from that, the album was great and CERTAINLY a better body of work than “Sweetener.”

Ugh what disappointing on air winners tonight. But HOW did Billie lose Pop Song??!?!? Yeah, that is a weird anomaly there. You would think Lizzo would have had the upper hand in ROTY or SOTY because of that, but I guess Billie was able to gather more support from non-pop voters? Once Lizzo got pop solo I think it should have been apparent that she wasn't going to win any majors. She got the Beyonce treatment with that one. |

Yeah Billie was good but I think while the Song/Record wins are well deserved, I'm not excited about her BNA and AOTY wins. The album as a whole wasn't that great imo, I never listened to it in full after the day it came out. NFR and TUN worked much better as projects, end even Lizzo's Super Deluxe Deluxe Deluxe Limited Edition Bonus Track Version album (who imo deserved BNA) had more replay value.

It is super cool and inspiring to see Billie and Finneas sweep on a homemade album. Just goes to show you don’t need all the bells and whistles of a fancy studio to create something that really resonates with people.

With the way Billie just swept, I don't think it made a difference what Ariana or anyone else submitted. Also, I would say Ariana got India.Arie'd more so than she did Mariah'ed. Daydream was losing to any and everybody. A fucking frog with laryngitis would have beaten her, that's how much the voters back then wanted nothing to do with her. India OTOH just had the bad luck of debuting during Alicia's big year (and then the one category she wasn't against Alicia in she lost to a damn soundtrack). Once the industry makes up its mind to give someone a sweep there's nothing anyone else can do about it really. Isn't even worth feeling bad about because at least you know it's not really anything you did wrong. |

Blahhh Billie’s album was interesting but it wasn’t that good to deserve a literal sweep. Hopefully she pulls a Lorde and comes up with something that flops for album two. omg I agree maxie!!!! I can’t understand half of the lyrics she sings... |

I can’t understand half of the lyrics she sings... Snooze fest, don’t get the hype for this chick.. I mean half of her songs and all of her live performances I can barely understand a freakin word she’s singing (or speaking cause she’s literally speaking her lyrics). I can barely understand a word she’s singing... This sounds like a poor mans Sia song... don’t get the hype over this chick... Sia is so much better.. We heard you the first time. |

It annoys me to no end that they keep trying to pretend that Record of the Year is bigger than Album of the Year. Yeah I’m over this narrative that “it’s a singles industry now.” A whole album takes so much more f**king effort than a single song. It feels much more epic to finish with Album. Billie and Finneas’ reaction to winning Record right after Album summed it up perfectly. While you're right in theory, it made sense here. Billie Eilish was a massive favorite for AOTY, but actually the #2 pick for ROTY (after Old Town Road). By putting ROTY last year, you create more drama. |

I really don't get the need for a full sweep but ok. AOTY/BNA I get SOTY and ROTY are more disappointing cause I don't like Bad Guy but it's whateves. The expectations for the 2nd album are going to be insane now. |
