I'm gonna go ahead and stop here for the night, as everything that is left was a top 5 contender

So confused by all the apparent hate for "Pink Guitar"! This is quite possibly the catchiest guitar work on the entire album, and the driving beat is absolutely infectious! Not to mention the vocal arrangement allows Reba to demonstrate both her sassy personality and her strong high vocal range. I imagine this song would absolutely steal the show in a live setting :) This song did start out as a last-place contender early on, but ultimately was able to rise higher than all the other last-place contenders thanks to a handful of top-half votes. Beats me, it's a total JAM.

Yeah, I don't get the hate for "Pink Guitar" either. It's a fantastic uptempo. I love the story laid out in the lyrics the most about it, especially the line about the pink guitar hanging next to Minnie Pearl's hat in the CMHOF. Really strong melody and fun vocal delivery to top it off, too.
"I Want a Cowboy" is in the same vein for me, as well. Very fun song and enjoyable melody. I ended up slotting them at #8 and #9 because they feel pretty similar to me stylistically, but I gave the edge to "Pink Guitar" because the lyrics are stronger. Otherwise, they're about equal for me. I love both too despite having them in the bottom half of my list... this album is just STACKED.

Well, I like the way he looks at her. It's plain to see he knows the words That makes her shine from forty feet away. If there's any justice in this world, He's got a twin who wants a girl Who looks like me. Excuse me while I pray!

"I'll Have What She's Having" is an insanely fast swing-dance number, filled with meticulous and flawless instrumental accompaniment. This song functions as the closing track to the album. I do love the song, but unfortunately it is not among my very favorites from this album. This song has always stood out like a sore thumb to me, because it doesn't really fit the groove of the rest of the album at all. Having this one come on right after the dark and modern "Maggie Creed Road" is a bit of a shock.
Still, it's an incredible song, so I am thrilled to see it be the first album track that is going to join us in the album track rankdown! :)

"Ill Have What She's Having" is a fun Texas swing song, but it overstayed here imo. I like when artists switch it up like this, but it doesn't have the replay value of a lot of songs on the record for me.

This isn't how she thought She'd ever spend this day, Sitting behind the wheel On the Interstate. 40 was quite a ride, But she's changing roads tonight, And it's such a bittersweet way to celebrate; She's turning 50 today.

"She's Turning 50 Today" is a powerful mid-tempo jam about an aging woman whose husband leaves her for a younger woman a couple days before her 50th birthday...but in classic Reba fashion, she manages to find empowerment in the fact that she is now free to live the life she wants to live! I love everything about this song This is a comfortable theme for Reba, and she sells a song like this better than anybody else!

So there it is, I've said it now. God, I wish some way, somehow You'd look at me with those big blue eyes And say you miss me too. But you moved on I...understand. Yeah, I tried that too, But here I am.

Y'all know I am a sucker for power ballads, and "Over You" is the perfect song to fit that bill! I LOVE this song so much Everything about Reba's vocal performance on this song slays! I especially love the way she hesitates in the second verse before she says she understands that he's moved on. She's like, "You've moved on, I...understand", and it just causes that entire verse to contain so much more emotion! That ability to wring all the emotions out of a song is what makes Reba the Queen that she is. I will never get enough of things like that

"Over You" is definitely the strongest ballad on the album imo. Such a heartbreaking tune and the melody is incredible. The way she sings the chorus is just gorgeous. Also love the little pause that bboat11 mentioned as well. Gutting.

Oh, I forgot to mention that ClevelandRox and @xfer became the first people to lose their #1s thanks to "Over You". Ironically, they were also the same two people who lost their #2 with "She's Turning 50 Today"! You guys seem to enjoy each other's taste!

Believe me, I'm still shocked to have lost my top 2 in a matter of minutes. But it seems Crox also has amazing taste ♥ I can't believe Over You got a few very low rankings. I mean, the song is great, what did they hear in the song that made them rank it so low? edit - And it seems most of our rankings have been the same or pretty close! jajajajajaja Way to go Crox!

That is a great question! I would sure like to know that as well! This song is a little faceless, meaning it would be a fantastic song regardless of who sings it. It's not like it screams "I am a Reba song!" or anything like that. I could see that leading to people thinking it is generic. But still, that vocal performance!!!! There is no excuse for anyone to have it in the bottom 3...

But I thought if I didn't listen to you That I wouldn't be much of a friend. I let you come over and cry on my shoulder The hundredth time over again. And all those old emotions came raining out of the blue, Just when I thought I'd stopped lovin' you.

Tbh, I am a tad shocked to see "Just When I Thought I'd Stopped Loving You" make the top 5! This song has a very modern feel to the arrangement, which can be a little off-putting at first. I know I was skeptical when I first heard the intro and the first verse. However, as soon as Reba launches into the chorus, with all the incredible layers of harmony, it becomes clear that this is an incredible song. It has continued to rise to the point where it is now one of my favorites on the album.

Coming in to the top 4, we have the album's three singles, as well as one final album track. Anyone want to make a prediction how this top 4 will go?! Will the singles dominate this time around, or will "Maggie Creek Road" manage to pull off the rare feat of being an album track that beats singles?!

hopefully "I Keep On Boring You" goes next. I have not once been able to really enjoy that song. Especially when compared to the majority of the songs on this album. Then lets end with "Maggie Creek Road" vs "Consider Me Gone", which are easily the two best songs here!

"I Keep On Lovin' You" becomes the first single to bow out, which is probably a surprise to nobody. What surprises me is that this song managed to make the top 5 at all! It is definitely not one of her best-known or loved hits. It only finished at #52 in the Reba singles rankdown, which is just behind the halfway point. However, it was able to get a fair amount of love in this rankdown. I do like "I Keep On Lovin' You" a lot, but I think it was one of the only bad single choices on an album that was so loaded with potential... That 3rd single slot should have absolutely gone to "Maggie Creek Road", and if they insisted on a ballad it should have been "Over You"! Although the results here would seem to disagree with that latter statement. I do love the music video though It is a perfect and tasteful blend between black and white and color; and it is absolutely beautiful in each! The gif I highlighted above shows one of my favorite moments, where it transitions from b&w to color randomly, and you can see how truly vibrant Reba's green dress really is!

The title track is a pretty song, but the album had far better single options they could've gone with (like "Maggie Creek Road" for one). The one thing that really stands out with this one for me is the steel guitar on it is absolutely gorgeous. That alone really elevates it for me. "Over You" is a more engaging ballad if they wanted to go that route, so I agree with bboat11 on that being a better candidate.

Strange is a fucking jam!! I’ve loved it since day 1 and Reba delivers so much sass with her vocals. The hate it gets is most definitely strange!

Here we go! The top 2!!! Consider Me Gone vs. Maggie Creek Road! The biggest hit of her career vs one of the most widely-acclaimed fan favorite album tracks of her career. Heading into this top 2, THIRTEEN people still have their #1 remaining! The #1 and #2 are also the first and second smallest standard-deviations of the rankdown, meaning that this top 2 was pretty much set from the beginning Which one will be victorious, and how close will the battle be?! Stay tuned to find out as soon as I finish typing the reveal!

Somehow mamas always know, 'Cause they should've been home an hour ago. When she pulled up, it was just going down. She turned her headlights off, didn't make a sound. She heard her baby cry, "No!" but he wouldn't stop. Her heart went cold and her blood ran hot. With a pistol in her hand she opened his door. You don't wanna see mama go to war...

If I'm not the one thing you can't stand to lose, If I'm not that arrow to the heart of you. If you don't get drunk on my kiss. If you think you can do better than this, Then I guess we're done. Let's not drag this on. Consider me gone.

I actually thought this was gonna be close but it really wasn't. Only 4 people didn't think this was the best track on the album, and they still had it top 3. Amazing. The impact of "Consider Me Gone" continues to be next level. What a smash. It's definitely high on my list of all-time favorite country jams, and I'm happy that it won this and that the runner-up was my #2. "Maggie Creek Road" is flawless too. Should've been a single and had an award-winning music video to accompany it. Still such a huge missed opportunity. Thanks for hosting bboat11!
