Iâm a bit surprised to see so much support for âLong Distance Loverâ. It certainly isnât a song that Iâd consider to be one of the two best on the album.

Despite a rough start to my top 5, this might just turn out to be a perfect top 3!

"Look At The One (Who's Been Looking At You)" is a catchy jam, that was pretty easily our highest performing album track! It was such a strong performer that it had no trouble whatsoever hanging onto this #3 spot even with taylor tanking it at #9 and ranking the next album track "Long Distance Lover" at #2, thereby eating up a lot of its lead. I think this one is really catchy, but the biggest weakness is that the production almost seems to bury the vocals a bit too much. At least on the bluetooth speaker I just listened to this on, the vocals seemed to be kinda quiet while the background "ooo"s were like twice as loud, lmao. Still, I think this is one that I will come to enjoy more the more I listen to it!

If anything deserved more support from within the top 2, it was "Look At The One (Who's Been Looking At You)" and not âLong Distance Loverâ. This is one of the more catchiest songs on the album for sure.

Even much to my own surprise, I was introduced to the song â(You Lift Me) Up to Heavenâ at a very young age if only because I was given a Reba compilation album of the same name which I believe mustâve featured a lot of her early recordings with Mercury. Anyways, this was the only song that ever stood out to me from that and it has been one of my favorites ever since. Therefore, Iâm not at all surprised to see it win here as it rightfully should have.

I was honestly surprised how close this ended up being in the end!! "(You Lift Me) Up To Heaven" was the obvious #1 contender, and ended up being #1 for the entire submission process, but "I Don't Think Love Ought To Be That Way" was right on its tail a lot of the time! đșCountryLineDancer's floppy #8 rank did quite a bit of damage at the end, but in the end all he managed to do is make it our second most polarizing song. YLMUTH is Reba's very first top 10 hit of her entire career, as it managed to peak at #8 back in 1980. While many of her early hits tend to be forgotten, this is one that you can still find on the occasional hits collection (Anyone remember the 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection series?! Lmao), and still has enough buzz to where it would be pretty successful if it were dusted off in a live setting (I think it might have even made some of her mashups that she likes doing live lately? I don't know for sure though). The "ah-AHHHHHH" falsetto background vocals provided by Reba herself make this one incredibly memorable and immediately identifiable. "I Don't Think Love Ought To Be That Way" was a top 15 hit, peaking at #13, and imo this one is even catchier than "Heaven"! That chorus is nothing short of ear candy, especially after the key change! I am so glad to see this finish at #2, as after finishing in the bottom 10 of her singles rd I really had no idea what to expect from it here. Thank goodness y'all didn't do it dirty for once!!!

Whoever's In New England Rankdown: Results Time!
Final Participant List: (11)
1. ClevelandRox2. someguy3. RobbyFlorida4. castleoblivion265. tim6. ladyđfan7. bboat118. codyj1009. .indulgecountry10. taylor11. đșCountryLineDancerWe're going to jump right into this one without wasting any time, since I want to be ready to focus on New Country Releases after this weekend! So feel free to make predictions now, and then I will try to reveal the whole thing in one swoop tomorrow, like we (mostly) did with Feel The Fire tonight :)
Questions to get us started:
1) What will be #1?
2) What will be #10?
3) Which songs will be in the top 5?
4) What song will be most polarizing? Least polarizing?
5) Which of the singles will place highest? Where will it place? (Whoever's In New England, Little Rock)
6) Where will the other single place?
7) Which album tracks would you prefer to see do well?
8) Any other thoughts/predictions?

1) What will be #1? Isn't this a given lol?
2) What will be #10? "To Make That Same Mistake Again" maybe? I dunno, there are at least three songs I can see coming in last
3) Which songs will be in the top 5? The title track and "Little Rock" will both be in the top 2, so then it becomes a question as to which three album tracks will find themselves in the top 5. I think those will be "I'll Believe It When I Feel It", "I've Seen Better Days", and hopefully "Don't Touch Me There" even though the title is a bit cringe. I could also make a case for both "Can't Stop Now" and "You Can Take the Wings Off Me" making it in.
4) What song will be most polarizing? "I've Seen Better Days" Least polarizing? "Whoever's In New England"
5) Which of the singles will place highest? Where will it place? "Whoever's In New England" at the top followed by "Little Rock" at #2
6) Where will the other single place? See above
7) Which album tracks would you prefer to see do well? Definitely the first three I mentioned as being top 5 contenders
8) Any other thoughts/predictions? It's intriguing that they only went with two singles from this album, but then again that was what MCA and Jimmy Bowen went with back in the day (much like they did with George's mid-80s albums).

1) What will be #1? "Whoever's In New England", though I think "Little Rock" will put up a (surprisingly strong) fight
2) What will be #10? "You Can Take The Wings Off Me" maybe
3) Which songs will be in the top 5? The singles, plus "Can't Stop Now", "I've Seen Better Days" and "I'll Believe It When I See It"
4) What song will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? Most - "One Thin Dime"; Least - "Whoever's In New England"
5) Which of the singles will place highest? Where will it place? (Whoever's In New England, Little Rock) "England" #1 and "Little Rock" #2, but it will be closer than expected
6) Where will the other single place? See above
7) Which album tracks would you prefer to see do well? "I've Seen Better Days", "I'll Believe It When I See It", "If You Only Knew" (the original "If I Were You")
8) Any other thoughts/predictions? Not that she wasn't successful before, but this was certainly her breakthrough album. "Whoever's In New England" was her first video, and it even got some play on HBO (since there wasn't an outlet for country videos at the time). This is certainly the project that took her to that next level.

7) Which album tracks would you prefer to see do well? "I've Seen Better Days", "I'll Believe It When I See It", "If You Only Knew" (the original "If I Were You")Funny you say that because I had just recently seen a comment on Twitter stating that Terri more or less copied Reba's song.

We kick things off with "One Thin Dime", which was the last place for the entire submission process! Despite the decisive appearance of that trajectory graph however, this was nowhere near as unanimous as the previous album. ladyđfan and castleoblivion26 both lose a top 5 already, while only two of us ( ClevelandRox and myself) lose their last place. The wide range of ranks meant that this was actually close to escaping from last place several times, and in the end only lands in this position by about 3 points. I do like this one despite my last place. I just felt like it was a rather generic '80s uptempo country song. The type of song that would be a hit on the dance floor, but doesn't really give you a lot of incentive to listen to it for fun while sitting at home, lol.

"You Can Take The Wings Off Me" was yet another consistent performer, occupying the penultimate slot of this album for the entire submission process. A #3 from RobbyFlorida and a #4 from codyj100 helped this to stay ahead of "One Thin Dime" even though it got really close between them a couple of times (even serving as a nice tie breaker once near the end!!) This one starts out pretty, but tbh it kinda loses me about halfway through. It's definitely not a bad song, but the rest of the album is pretty strong, so this one got lost in the shuffle imo.

"Can't Stop Now" is one of those songs that is basically just designed for the band to have some cool solos, and honestly there is some REALLY cool instrumental work here! However, outside of that the melody is pretty basic and imo wears thin kinda quickly. I ranked it fairly high because of the cool technical aspects of the arrangement, but I feel like it is leaving in a pretty good place.

This was our most consistent #8 contender, but managed to sneak out of the bottom 3 right at the end thanks to đșCountryLineDancer putting it at #8 and tanking "Can't Stop Now" to last place. I don't have much to say about this song, lol. It's pretty average.

We wrap up the bottom half of this album with our first #1 loss, courtesy of đșCountryLineDancer :( Weird title aside, I actually think this is a really pretty song. I love the way Reba sounds here. And it seems like the group overall considered this to be a turning point on the album, as DTMT holds a 10-point lead over "Make That Same Mistake", which is quite impressive for a 10-song album with only 11 participants. Especially when you consider that 10-7 were all within like 8 points of each other, and now #6-#4 are all within three points of each other.

Oh wow, "Don't Touch Me There" being the most polarizing song is a bit surprising. I thought it would easily be in the top 5.

Let me be the third person to say that "Don't Touch Me There" should've been in the top 5! That said, I'm actually not at all surprised that it ended up being the most polarizing song as I should've seen that coming. It took a while to grow on me and I believe was even outside of my top 5 in my first initial couple of drafts. The song kept pulling me back in though and it's one that I found myself wanting to revisit more and more.
I definitely would've like to have seen that one in over "If You Only Knew" as that seems like the only outlier in the top 5. Reba certainly delivers a great vocal on the track, but it certainly wasn't one that I felt compelled to revisit much after a listen or two.
