I like this a lot more than LWYMD and hopefully in the best Taylor tradition the best songs are being saved for later. I just hope she goes for a Maren Morris release schedule instead of keeping us waiting for the album for 6 months, specially if this is a summer album.

I think this is way better than half of the rep album.
Is it her best song? No
But the verses are solid, he sounds AMAZING, their voices really blend well and this sound is way more her wheelhouse than her reputation rapping was.
Her lead singles are usually a little out there anyway, so this has me very excited for the album.

This song is great. Especially that they got Brendon on board. But, surely, album tracks will be better than this. 😊

Cute video. Decent song, but not as amazing as I expected.

If you watch her Instagram story, she says the mural is a clue to "the new SONG" which makes me hesitant to think we are getting two songs. I think a lot of this is people looking for clicks. Just like the title of 'Look What You Made Me Do' Leaked, but wasnt the right title. I'm not defending Lee Thompson, who was the person that made the tweet of the possible release of two songs instead of one, but I doubt he did that for clicks because he's reliable. Either way, the other TBC song was "Vossi Bop" by Stormzy, who is popular in the UK, and it makes me think that he wasn't aware that he was going to release a new single too. That said, BBC Radio 1 also supports his stuff, hence the reason why his song was added directly to the A-list, like "Me!".

I'm sorry...I love TS but this is her worst single by far. SIO was miles ahead of this. This could turn into a last year Justin Timberlake situation if they aren't careful. Really really just not good. Not trying to come off like an a$$ but what a massive fail.

Cute song, but pointless. I'm glad she ditched Max Martin, though.

I wonder what their pre-release strategy will be? Surely they won't make the same mistake as last era and end up with a other ...Ready For It situation.

This is so much fun! Love the colorful video and they sound really good together. It is a little cheery and punchy for my tastes (reminds me of recent Panic! stuff, which reminds me of Broadway) but I didn't mind it that much. Excited for the rest of the album.

Just like a classic Carrie Underwood thread, the over-analysis and anxiety is palpable. The song is good and the vocal chemistry between Taylor and Brendon is nice to hear. I’m into it and happy for her.

I'm guessing full 20-week run for this single before releasing a second one. Album might be pretty far away as far as we know (not even a title announced yet). In the age of streaming the eras are pretty much done after the second week of availability of the album, so I think a few singles before might be the best strategy.

I don’t know if this is wishful thinking or an actual prediction but I think this is going to be the weakest song on the album and the only one of its kind. While it might be a hint for the album’s sound, I consider it to be a wildcard song, a fit for pretty much every album.
Also, I think the album is actually going to be strong, a positive comeback for her perception and critical reception. And mature. We really need that and I’m pretty positive.
My guess is that “ME!” is going to be one of the first four tracks of the album, probably #2 or #3 and then the album will go on to touch other themes with a more mature & grown up point of view.

Easter eggs from the video: 1. 7 suitcases and 7 outfits for her 7 albums 2. The clock is set to 8:30, which some people are speculating to mean that Taylor will drop her new album on 8/30 (it's a Friday, so at least we know it's possible and will give her time to get a second single out) 3. There is a neon sign that says "Lover" so that could be the title of a track on the album. 4. Taylor is wearing cowboy boots, so could there be a return to country (in some form) on this album? Also, she answers the phone, so maybe the old Taylor isn't dead after all? Last country tie-in: there is a painting of the Dixie Chicks in her apartment.

Gotta take that million SPS to justify the new contract (and owning her masters). Plus isn't she rumoured to be trying to buy Big Machine with Universal or something? Gotta make that money. www.billboard.com/articles/business/8485967/taylor-swift-catalog-big-machine-ownership-sale-price-umg-analysisI kinda want her to take control of her entire catalogue because I like the idea of artists owning their material (after a reasonable amount of time for the labels to make some money from it), and if she succeeds it could open the door for more people.

She tweeted that the name of the album AND the second single are both revealed in the video... and neither is “Lover” because she also said no one’s figured it out

I agree with a second single prior to releasing the album, but I doubt they'd wait 20 weeks... that's more than 4 months. This song could hit #1 on radio in only 1.5 months and there's not much of a reason for holding back from releasing the next single if the first one's already starting to fall on radio. I'd say one single every 2 months is a good way to go. Maybe slow down a bit deeper into the album cycle when radio isn't jumping on them as eagerly and their rise is more dependent on callouts than radio deals/name recognition/chart debuts.

Not a fan of the whole Reputation era and album, except for a few tracks that I like, so I am glad to see her getting back to more old school Taylor in terms of music.
The single is nothing impressive, but it's harmless and I don't mind it I guess. 95% certain that this will be one of the worst 3 tracks on the album lol.
Love the effects and colours in the video. Especially the last part of the vid, and the great opening with the snake turning to butterflies. Taylor has never been a good actress but for the corny over-the-top French scene, her overly dramatic reaction worked perfectly.
I can't wait to hear the rest of the album, curious to see where she is heading musically.

Now I feel dumb Guess its revealed in another way

I have been waiting for Big Machine to release out-takes from previous eras, like they did with some of the older artists they dropped, but tbh the compilations are annoying.

They have been there for a couple months (as far as I’ve noticed) and drive me crazy.

I could very well be proven wrong at midnight but the new single being called Me! and being a Brendon Urie collab just.. doesn't seem right. Taylor releasing a collab as the lead single doesn't sound like her. Plus I'd be shocked if she made another out of nowhere musical shift, especially after Reputation and ESPECIALLY to an alternative/punk sound. It all seems really strange to me and idk if I believe it EDIT: just realized that this says her label is "Taylor Swift Productions" which as far as I know Does Not Exist i really was boo boo the fool here
