Cats is approaching and Taylor wrote a song with Andrew Lloyd Webster for it.

The title alone is just hauntingly beautiful. I love that we got this on her 13th career anniversary. So proud to be a lifelong stan

I watch from the dark, wait for my life to start with no beauty in my memory.” - Lyrics from ‘Beautiful Ghosts’ I just love her to pieces. I'll say this as often as I can, because it's true: Taylor Swift is one of the greatest lyricists of all time.

It’s 5 years of 1989, the album that gave us pop perfection, killer visuals, worldwide domination for Taylor, “Wildest Dreams (Radio Edit)” and most importantly, my username :)
Happy birthday!

Either she doesn't care anymore or is completely out of touch lmao It's pretty obvious it's the later. Girl has previously shown her taste in her own music is poor and 1989 is literally the only album that had 100% good single choices. (Well, and her debut, but you couldn't really go wrong with that one.)

Why is no one talking about the "Artist of the Decade" honor for Taylor Swift at the AMAs? If there is a thread, please tag me. Thank you! 💕

The album vs songs comparison though. It SHOWS how much of an album artist she is. Congrats Taylor :)

It actually makes me cringe how bad the single choices were for this era. She could have shown some real growth and maturity here while still looking back at her more fun, smash-making days. This era could have (and still has some potential to–three singles too late, but still) been a real statement for her in the eyes of the general public.
01. “Afterglow” 02. “Cruel Summer” 03. “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince” 04. “False God” 05. “Death By A Thousand Cuts”

AMA's are soon I think I read she is doing a Medley. I hope she performs some of her classics. But I'm assuming the set list will look something like this; Lover, You need to calm down, Shake it off ( please no ), Love story and maybe Trouble or an old country song?

It almost feels like she wanted a negative reaction. I just can't see how anyone would think this was the ideal single release.

You need to calm down was clearly released for its personal significance to her to have a song from her to the gay community so I understand the choice there

I think she actually could have gotten away with YNTCD as the LEAD single as she was finally making a statement about where she stands, but it was doomed after ME!
In a perfect world for me, Cruel Summer, Paper Rings, and Lover would have all been singles.
I LOVE The Man but agree its not made for radio.

Why are people sleeping on “I Think He Knows” tho? That song is *made* for a muti-week stay atop the Hot 100.
I’d love to live in a world where she dual-released a single to pop + “Soon You’ll Get Better” to country radio.

I LOVE ITHK and have from the beginning, but nothing about that song sounds like a one-week number 1, never mind multi-weeks. Personal charts? Sure, but in the current incarnation of the Hot 100? Nah. I don't think the GP wants to hear funk-lite from Taylor. It sounds like something from Dirty Computer, which is not exactly Taylor's lane when it comes to the public.

I mean, Dubstep Taylor got #2. Rap Taylor got #4. Let her do her thing! If the public likes it, it should do well. I just wonder if it'll fit in well on radio.

There is a bassline that is definitely along the funk lines, so...yeah. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
