I guess I'mma need to cop this. The clips sounded decent. SHOOTER, any word on a physical? Not yet but if it follows the trajectory of Lemonade/EIL, it should surface within the next 3 weeks.

The transition from the War (Interlude) to MY POWER is a moment ! This song needs to be a single because it is an anthem front start to finish. Something this female-driven aggressive hasn’t been sent to mainstream radio for years.

Good for her for highlighting Africa and its artists, but I'm underwhelmed. Some of the tracks are cute but thank u, next.

Alright, my earlier middling praise aside, this is the album of the summer. I wanna go to an island and do a little shuffle in the sand to almost every song on here. "Nile" and "Scar" can take a flying leap into hell, but leave it to Beyonce to take a throwaway companion album and make it way better than it has any right to be.

Beyoncé is once again reiterating that she only makes music for the culture now and you will deal. lol

Brown Skin Girl needs the single/video treatment. Especially since it’s top ten on iTunes now.

With the exposure from the biggest live-action Disney has ever created Wasn't it you that said the album has nothing to do with the movie? So now it's supposed to sell bc of the movie? Which one is it? See, you really didn't think this one through.

Which one is it? See, you really didn't think this one through. This feels like a Beyoncé album that is not tied together to Lion King but in fact, it is. The album's content does not change the fact that the soundtrack is getting incredible amounts of exposure from a movie that is on track to gross 1 billion in 1 week. Not even crossing 100k when you have this kind of promotion is a severe underperformance. Guess you didn't think this one through either

Eh. Bills Bills Bills came out in 1999, and Crazy in Love came out in 2003. (I never count No No No lol)
She was supposed to be over around the 10 year mark but instead found a way to keep the hype, buzz, and high cash flow going for closing in on 20 years.
Beyoncé is WAY overdue for a slowdown.

It's not even that deep that its 50k-70k lol. She literally announced the album a week or two ago. Beyonce is doing things her way now so if she wanted to promote, she clearly would have found the means to do it.

Guess you didn't think this one through either How does it feel like a Beyoncé album when she’s on like seven of the songs, announced it like a week ago, and hasn’t even promoted it? It’s not the soundtrack to the movie and anyone following would know that. This is a cultural album released for a specific population. I can’t recall Afrobeat-related music selling that well in the U.S. The majority of her audience (most American audiences) doesn’t even listen to Afrobeat music.

this is not soundtrack to movie. what exposure? only spirit is on the movie with like 30sec as background music. even its own soundtrack and "new end credit song" by original classic team elton john/leb m / tim rice are not selling.. and that's the one getting direct exposure from the movie, not this beyonce one. Also Disney sound track is not selling, check Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin's soundtrack. lol

1/2 the pop tarts y’all stan for would kill to put up 50-70k period, let alone first week. But go awf about this “flop” of a specialty project 16 years deep into a solo career. :sip2:

Wow. Go back to being a popstar sis... Beyonce will never be the white bitch you want her to be so just keep sulking sis. I don't want her to be white at all, her "white" album is my least favorite in her catalog. The numbers don't lie though, obviously the past 2 projects haven't clicked with anyone. She needs to go back to being Beyoncé, the superstar.

I think, from now on, Beyonce will only be releasing passion projects. I mean the money generated from the album just helps ever so slightly but let's face it, Disney doesn't care. It's about get a billion dollars regardless. The money they spent on Beyonce is pocket change

A lot of people are having a hard time understanding this but Beyonce is a cultural phenomenon, she has nothing left to prove. She doesn't NEED to do anything. She is Beyonce, 20-something time grammy winner, 2-time super bowl performer Beyonce. She is having fun and putting out projects that mean a lot to a smaller portion of general public, projects that connect with folks more than anything pre-Lemonade could.

Why are people acting like Beyonce doesn't have a pop musical side too? She built a career off her fair share of it. People complain about the "Becky ballads" on I am...Sasha Fierce housed on the Beyonce side for instance and dog it as if she didn't co-write (well, slap her name on) them and didn't love the songs as she simultaneously sang Alanis Morrisette rock covers lol while they dog those who enjoy that pretty natural, authentic (as well) side of her? She is a multifaceted artist and person. I am totally fine with whatever direction she prefers to take in her career (I can listen to whatever I like accordingly), but the disdain I see regularly for those who speak out prefering a certain side is a tad ridiculous IMO. People like what they like. Let people enjoy what they enjoy. There seem to be more her prefer her urban material anyway, so I don't get the kickback when pop comes into play.

It’s not the fact she has fans from her legacy as a crossover R&B act... there are black people that still prefer that type of material from her too.
For me personally, it’s the dismissal of anything that doesn’t openly court white people and the implication that those projects are “flops” or “irrelevant” because they are not grabbing pop audiences that I find irritating. This has been the dialog every era from 4 on.
She’s made it abundantly clear it’s not about crossover for her anymore. She gets blacker every album but people STILL act like she’s a failure because pop audiences aren’t embracing these projects. Meanwhile she clearly doesn’t care and is selling out stadium tours while getting all kinds of urban spins and cultural relevancy from black audiences.
It’s okay to miss the old Beyoncé but to dismiss her output because it no longer centers YOU (not you personally) seems... arrogant I guess? It’s a pet peeve of mine really.
