Yikes at these reviews. Haven't listened yet and I'm certainly in no rush now. Listen for yourself, don’t listen to the haters

I think my favorite thing about this album is the maturity in the tone of her voice. I was really shocked at how impressed I was with the album. I don't NEED a couple of the tracks (particularly 9-11), but I don't despise them or anything. Really wishing we could've gotten that Brandy and Jazmine record, though.
I will say, I would never have known this was an independent album based on the production quality. I like this one a bit better than the last, but there are still several songs I don't see myself returning to. And even the ones I can appreciate, I don't LOVE them. I might try to put the best of this one and The Definition together and make a solid album for me lol.

I like "Free", "Fighting" and "Looking For You" which puts it on par with the last Fantasia project I liked "The Side Effects Of You" but nowhere near my all-time favorites, "Free Yourself" and Self Titled.

Yeah, this is on par with The Definition of..., but I will say that the slower songs have very nice production quality, especially to be an indie R&B album. Very nice vocal production too, she sounds great. I actually think "The Way!" might be my favorite song on the album, aside from "Enough." Too bad it's so short.

Side Effects of You was a stellar album imo. Agreed! Fantasia Side Effects of You Free Yourself Back to Me Sketchbook The Definition of...I put it right above "Free Yourself." That album sounds dated with the exception of the title track and "Truth Is." It didn't age well with me ("Fantasia" didn't either, but it was such a great departure from the debut that I appreciate it a lot).

Side Effects of You (actual flawless album from top to bottom)>>Back To Me=Fantasia=Free Yourself>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sketchbook>=The Definition of..
Those first 4 albums are absolute classic records though. Her major label run was incredible quality-wise.
Does anyone have the credits for this? I can't find anything on Apple music.

Some one get her back in the studio with Harmony Samuels because these garageband mixtapes aren't cutting it.

Is this accurate? It looks like Fantasia's album sold 8,092 units (pure sales) during its 1st week of release to be placed at #10 on that list; however, with streaming and digital downloads factored in, "SKETCHBOOK" did not crack the Top 50. See below. hitsdailydouble.com/building_album_chart

“The Way!” should’ve been longer.

I would have called this a success if she did at least 20K with her debut week. "Enough" wasn't enough (pun intended).

Her bundle was 1 CD for every two tickets instead of every ticket like most others. Not sure why they did it that way.
I was hoping for 16K which would have been half of the last album.
I actually like the album. I still need her back SANGING (not over the top stuff) like on the first 3 albums sighhh!
My favorites are: Free Take Off Believer-this one grew on me but fast. The repetition is contagious. Just don't like the light singing! Put my girl back in FULL VOICE! Looking For You Bad Girl
Fighting and Warning- These songs are not my personal style preference BUT I dig them. Especially Warning I'm just glad she's in full singing voice. Warning is growing on me.
Speaking of the concert is GREAT!
She performs some old deep album cuts from the first three albums. A few of my favorites. She does some STELLAR mashups! Of course songs from the new album. I don't want to give away too much but you won't be disappointed. She takes you to the club then church in ONE HOUR!
Robin Thicke was really good too. He told stories as he went through his songs. Got his dance on too!
Tank of course took off his shirt. Played the piano danced a little. Mentioned his new album about 100 times!
Bonfyre was cool. I like her songs. Her voice was okay. She was a cool opener.
Side Note: WHERE is Dre' and Vidal? They produced "Baby Making Hips" and "I Nominate U" from the 2nd album. I need them back for the next album lol!

A show! Glad I finally got to see her live. The energy!!
I was a little annoyed with her cutting some of the songs short (ESPECIALLY “Bittersweet”) but otherwise great show.

I'm late but I just got around to listening to the album. I agree with most of you - Sketchbook is better than The Definition of..., but not by much; I mean, I'm keeping 5 tracks off it ("The Way!" "Enough," "Bad Girl," "Holy Ghost" and "Warning") as opposed to the three I kept off TDO ("So Blue," "Wait For You" and "Roller Coasters"). Too bad "The Way!" is so short because it's a great song.

First album of hers that has not won me over. And her previous one was also not super exciting, but definitely better than this.
