Max Martin's Greatest Hits would be a box set. Looks like paulhaney is right on the money.

narp - thanks but Can't wait for Max Martin. When he is published, can whoever replies NOT include the whole damn chart again when quoting? Go into the quote in the Preview and delete the copy of the chart. Or go to the BBCcode and remove the code for the images.

Coulda sworn McCartney would be #1. Me too. But sharing credit with Lennon on all the Beatles' songs understandably prevented that. Still, #3 aint too shabby.

I guess Max Martin is hurt by having a ton of co-writers, whereas Dianne Warren wrote most of her big hits alone.

Paul Anka Points: 26,480 Including the songs from the Top 100 days, Paul Anka would have a total of 31,602 points.

nickd when you have the time, could you calculate the points for Nicki Minaj? She hasn't had any #1 hits, but she's charted over a 100 songs and a handful of them peaked in the top 10/20. She also writes most of her songs. Would be interesting to see how many points she ends up with. Thanks. Also, maybe by the end of the year, you could update Drake's figures and calculate Post Malone's points, too. He's about to chart an entire album on the Hot 100 so it'll probably be better to wait till the songs have debuted and peaked before calculating them.

I was about to post Nicki's but then my computer crashed and I lost my data for her. She had around 13400 points though. Although she has writing credit on pretty much all of her hits, she only averaged around 19% for the songs she had writing credits on. Although rappers have a reputation for writing their lyrics, it seems like the abundance of features, combined with the producers usually also getting a writing credit, as well as the writers of any songs they sample, means their songs often have as many co-writers as for pop singers. I also wonder how many rappers have co-writers for the melodies and lyrics they perform because they can have co-writers that aren't producers on the song, on songs that don't have samples or features.

Okay, thanks. I guess I thought she'd have at least 20,000 points. can Rapperso have tons of credits on their songs because of features, multiple producers and an excessive use of samples. Most rappers sample on most of their songs and that tends to cut into their writing credit percentage. Sometimes, they get people to write hooks for them or help them out with song structure. Crediting works differently from artist to artist. While some artists give credits to people who assist in any way on a song, even if they don't actually help with the lyrics or the production of a song, some others don't.

So Foster falls behind Drake and Paul Anka among Canadian songwriters.
I wonder where Bryan Adams and/or Jim Vallance would rank.

Sia Furler Points: 7420 pnobelysk - I think her smaller hits did better in Europe than on the Hot 100 for the most part.
