"Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" is noteworthy because Faith really jazzes up the arrangement for this one! I love all the horns here so much Imo, this song is a standout on this album because of the arrangement, so I am thrilled to see it finish in the top 5. Not everyone agreed, as this ended up in several bottom 3s, making this the second most polarizing song on the album. someguy loses his #1 with this reveal, while tim finally loses his #12. However, like it or not, I think this song is an overall good thing for this album, because it is a much needed blast of energy on an album that could otherwise feel lethargic with all its slooooow orchestral ballads.

O sing, choirs of angels, Sing in exultation. Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above. Glory to God, Glory in the highest. O come, let us adore Him.

"O Come, All Ye Faithful" managed to secure the title of 3rd-least polarizing song on this album, so even though it didn't get a whole lot of fanatic votes, it managed to stay ahead of the competition and perch at #4 for almost the entire submission process. Imo Faith sounds fantastic here, but it really doesn't feel like she adds anything new to the song itself. It is worth listening to, and I am okay seeing it finish well here, but it is never going to become an integral part of the Christmas canon, at least for me.

Long lay the world, in sin and error pining, Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

Well so much for that guess...I was really hoping "O Holy Night!" would edge out "A Baby Changes Everything" as I enjoyed her version more than I thought I would especially the final two minutes which makes for quite an epic finish (but maybe too high pitched at the end for some?).

Out next: THE MOST POLARIZING SONG ON THE ALBUM!!!!! What will it be??? Going to have to guess it's "A Baby Changes Everything" Nope! Nice try! "O Holy Night!" bows out at #3, as the most polarizing song on this album. This may be a shock to some, as "O Holy Night" seems to be one of the most universally-loved Christmas songs, especially on Pulse. Seemingly every diva needs their own version of this song, to legitimize their status as a diva! However, in my opinion, Faith's is a CHORE to listen to.... She sounds beautiful, but this song has NO pulse to it whatsoever, and it is waaaaay slower than it needed to be. I might have underranked it here, because in general OHN is still one of my favorite Christmas songs. However, Faith's will never be a version that I feel the need to seek out on a more than occasional basis as long as Martina's and Celine's and Sara's versions exist. Also why does this song have an exclamation point in the title? Talk about false advertising!

It's the getting there that is a chore for me...

Alrighty, we have almost reached the end!!!! It's the battle of Faith's two original Christmas songs, which I am thrilled by! I think both of these songs shit all over her Christmas covers But which one will win out?! A Baby Changes Everything vs. Where Are You Christmas

My favorite version of "O Holy Night" has and will always likely be the one by John Berry and while it's obviously an unpopular opinion I prefer Faith's version to Martina's if only because I love the implementation of the orchestra and choir.
That said, I still think this is "Where Are You Christmas?" to lose...

Not a ring on her hand, All her dreams and all her plans. A baby changes everything. A baby changes everything. The man she loves, she's never touched. How will she keep his trust? A baby changes everything. A baby changes everything.
2. "A Baby Changes Everything"
Where are you, Christmas? Why can't I find you? Why have you gone away? Where is the laughter You used to bring me? Why can't I hear music play? My world is changing, I'm rearranging. Does that mean Christmas changes too?

Lol I know this result is a surprise to nobody. But an absolutely well-deserved victory for "Where Are You Christmas"! This is quite possibly my favorite original Christmas song of all time Faith absolutely slays this vocal performance. Plus it has the added benefit of being from my favorite Christmas movie!! "A Baby Changes Everything" continues to grow on me every time I hear it, so I am SO happy to see it as the highest track from Faith's actual Christmas album!! This retelling of Jesus' birth story is well crafted, and the way the vocal arrangement builds until it gets to that epic "Hallelujah" climax never fails to give me goosebumps. These two songs have both been getting heavy rotation from me this holiday season!!! After seeing this come in last place in Faith's singles rankdown, this feels like a nice redemption arc for it :) Thank you to everybody who followed along and participated I know Christmas rankdowns aren't everybody's favorite, but I was happy with how this one went!

Speaking of epic what a well-deserved win for "Where Are You Christmas?" which is one of my all-time favorite modern Christmas songs..and speaking of How the Grinch Stole Christmas it's been on almost every other night which of course I always have to watch part of lol. I went into this album with quite a few reservations but ended up enjoying it much more than I thought I would and found a few more songs to add to my Christmas playlist going forward. Thanks again bboat11!

Little Drummer Boy is one of my favourite Christmas songs. When I was younger I used to listen to this song over and over again and I never got tired of it. When I first heard the English version a few years ago I also liked it immediately. Faith Hill did amazing job with this song - she sounds great and the whole arrangmetn is really good.
One of my favourite versions of this song is the one by Helene Fischer (German singer):
Where Are You Christmas is also a great song and a rightful winner of this rankdown.

Oh, so we did continue this... Very happy with the reveals, they're right where they should be in my opinion (upon a few more spins of the album this season I would've in hindsight switched my #3 and #2) and at "Where Are You Christmas" being unbothered the entire time! When I lost my aunt to cancer in 2017 (if you recall my spiel in the Stronger Than The Truth rankdown about my connection to "In His Mind," this is the same woman who was married to my uncle for 35 years), she seemed to take Christmas with her--it was her favorite holiday. I was obviously very depressed that year and the Christmas celebration and festivities just didn't have that joyful spark for me. The following year (2018), however, when the Christmas season came around, I ran into this song again. It was a powerful moment; it reminded me of the meaning of this holiday and I felt the joy of the season fill me up once again. That Christmas Day ended up ironically being one of the best days of my life thus far--I came out to my family as transgender to miraculous (considering my family nearly all voted for [redacted]) results. I'll never forget this song as long as I live! Thanks for finally finishing this bboat11 but really thanks for hosting! I'm down for Breathe to be next at some point down the road, but then again you're the host

The correct top 2! "A Baby Changes Everything" is overhated but I'm glad it still pulled off #2 here due to the fact it was against other (subpar) Xmas songs vs her own country material. Epic song with an epic build. Her vocals on this and the dramatic production and choir are all just perfection.
The winner is great too. Definitely the two best Xmas songs she's given us.

I prefer her uptempo take on the classics to the more somber ballads, but "Where Are You Christmas" is fantastic. It's definitely a worthy winner, and one that always gets me in the holiday spirit (along with the movie it came from, How The Grinch Stole Christmas). I love the video for this, too - it is visually so many things I associate with this time of year.
