See, I figured despite ranking "I Would Be Stronger Than That" #2 that this would be the Top 3 and I'm not mad at this Top 3! EDIT: uh-oh I started the new page first

I love "I Would Be Stronger Than That". The lyrics and her vocal delivery is just amazing. Definitely a strong spot on this album and glad to see others like it as well.
Not surprised by the top 3 at all, Love all 3 but am hoping "Piece of My Heart" is the first out, as the other two are the best two imo

Take it, Take another little piece of my heart now, baby. Take another little piece of my heart, I know you will. And break it, Break another little piece of my heart now, baby. 'Cause you know you got it, if it makes you feel good, so good.
3. "Piece Of My Heart"
Track #4 Runtime: 4:01 Songwriters: Bert Berns, Jerry Ragovoy

Well it looks like castle beat you in the race! lol If the Top 2 is how I predicted it a) imma be giddy cause spoiler alert that'll mean my #1 won and b) imma be cause that'll mean I correctly predicted the Top 5 of both Faith and Pam's albums! I like POMH, but the other two singles (plus "I Would Be Stronger Than That") are just a bit greater imo

Her version of “POMH” takes all the fire out of the song.

"Piece Of My Heart" is a Faith classic, and it is really impressive imo that she was able to turn a cover of an already huge song into such a classic as a brand new artist. Seriously, '90s country would not be complete without a mention of this song. I love what Faith does with it. Imo taking out that awkward 4th "come on" in the pre-chorus makes the whole song feel so much smoother than any other version I have ever heard. And that '90s 2-step beat gives this such an infectious, danceable energy. I love everything about this song!
This started out as a #2 contender, but ultimately fell back to #3 and never regained its footing, even though almost everybody ranked it in their top 3. The title track and the debut single proved to be just too stiff of competitors for it!

The amount of #1s for "Wild One" :o I love how none of us ranked anything else than the top 3 at #1, those three tracks truly are the standouts in an overall great album. Thanks for hosting bboat11!!

But wait, what's this?? A TIE?!?
That's right, folks, in an extremely rare twist of rankdown fate, we have failed once again to secure a complete winner! Both "Wild One" and "Take Me As I Am" hung in there, competing mercilessly for 1st place, and refusing to go down easily and settle for #2... In the end, they managed to finish with the exact same amount of points. I chose to break it by the amount of #1s, thereby giving "Wild One" the victory thanks to its NINE #1 votes. However, in the spirit of fairness, that means that BOTH "Wild One" and "Take Me As I Am" will end up in the next Best of the Best rankdown, and "Piece of My Heart" will get another chance to test its stamina in the next Revenge of the Best rankdown This is what has happened when we have had a tie previously. Nice job finding a way to get all 3 of the most iconic songs from this album into the competition that is only supposed to honor the 2 most iconic songs!

Those rankings for TMAIA are outstanding, I doubt I’ve ever seen a song have all top 5 rankings. Thanks for hosting

A little sad that the title track did better in her singles rankdown and yet came up short here, even though I guess they technically tied in points. "Wild One" is catchy and a classic, but some of those lyrics are just... dumb, to say the least ("his name is Bill") and it's quite overrated. "Take Me as I Am" shits all over it imo.

"Wild One" is an amazing debut single and still one of her most celebrated singles. I am happy it took the crown here!

Breathe (1999)
Tracklist: (Runtime: 52:21)
1. What's In It For Me2. I Got My Baby3. Love Is A Sweet Thing4. Breathe5. Let's Make Love - ft. Tim McGraw 6. It Will Be Me7. The Way You Love Me8. If I'm Not In Love9. Bringing Out The Elvis10. If My Heart Had Wings11. If I Should Fall Behind12. That's How Love Moves13. There Will Come A Day
After the extremely neo-traditional leaning material on her first album, I decided it is a great time for us to pivot back into the pinnacle of her pop country fame with the Breathe album. That will allow us to finish her regular albums in the next set with one of her strongest albums that will also satisfy the neo-trad fans, It Matters To Me Breathe is unquestionably a country record when you listen to it in hindsight, but upon its release in 1999, Faith was pretty much seen as one of the pioneers of the pop-influenced country music movement, right alongside her peers like Shania Twain riding the insane wave of her Come On Over era, and Martina McBride having the biggest hit of her career with the 5-week #1 hit and soundtrack carrier "I Love You". When Breathe came out, it hit #1 on the Billboard 200 all-genre albums chart, selling about 242,000 copies in its first week of sales. It has since gone on to be certified 8x Platinum, making it her best-selling album to date.
The deadline will be set for about a month from now, on Sunday March 15th!!

I was just putting the final touches on my list for Breathe and realized I hadn't come back around to provide some additional thoughts on the results for Take Me As I Am. So before too much more time passes let me get caught up... I think the general consensus on "But I Will" tends to be that it was a pretty poor choice for a single... However, I must confess, it sounds MUCH better in the context of this album! Every time I listen to it amongst her singles I have found it to be mediocre, but now that I have been listening to this album a lot I finally "get" the appeal of the song. I still think it was a pretty lame single, but I don't even slightly dislike the song anymore! Several songs on this album would have been better singles, although tbh none of them would have been able to reach the classic status of the 3 big singles, in my opinion. Honestly, this feels like an album that didn't need a 4th single. This is exactly my sentiments regarding "But I Will" and I thought going into this album that the song would end up somewhere outside of my top five, but as you stated in the context of the album this song works very well. With each subsequent listen I kept finding myself wanting to revisit this song and it managed to just slide into my top five with my final revision. I also can't help but wonder if some of the rankings for this were impacted by the opinion surrounding it being a poor choice for a single, but either way I don't think it was any surprise to see this one out so soon. I was really disappointed that "Just About Now" wasn't one of the album tracks to make it into the top five due to it receiving a head-scratching three last place rankings. This is definitely a standout track and one I always thought might've been a good choice for a single over "But I Will". I don't think any of us were surprised by the top three songs and the only question really was it going to be "Take Me As I Am" or "Wild One" for the win...and in the end I'm thrilled that the right song won even though it was the opposite outcome in Faith's artist rankdown.

Three new participants since the last reminder brings us up to 9 lists! We are still 1 whole week away from the deadline, so I would love to get WAY more participants for one of the most popular albums of the late '90s/early '00s!!!

Okay, I'm in the minority because this album is just awful. It's the equivalent of most "country" albums released today where they are just pop albums marketed as country. When I heard "What's in It for Me", I was thinking okay southern rock coming through (damn, how have I not listened to this album in full) but then I heard the other songs and I'm like damn, I'm good... Like LAW's Something Worth Leaving Behind, I will not be revisiting this album.
On a side note, what was she doing in that album cover???

The deadline for this is supposed to be about 24 hours away. I know things have been crazy lately though. A lot of people have had more important things to worry about than rankdowns. Does anybody need an extension? I'll proceed as scheduled with this if nobody needs one, but I would be more than happy to extend a bit if anybody lets me know they need one!
