I wonder if people voted for Stronger with the (amazing) live version in mind, cause the studio version featured on Cry is not really a highlight on the album, so I'm actually surprised it made this far in front of other better tracks

I would've voted for Fireflies and It Matters to Me if I'd noticed, but I'm literally only just now seeing that there was a poll.

Wait...when did this poll launch lol?! My votes would've been for It Matters to Me and Faith as I'd like to see one of her earlier albums showcased.

Crap! I've been meaning to vote for It Matters to Me and Fireflies, but I see it's too late! :'(
Honestly though, I'm fine with whatever comes next as I found Cry to be the oddest starting point for this series imo.

Apparently bboat11 put it up when he made the post listing what songs made the top 5, but he didn't put tags in that post so it flew under the radar I guess.

I voted for Faith and Breathe... those were the albums that turned me into a Faith fan back in 2000, so both are very close to my heart

Apparently bboat11 put it up when he made the post listing what songs made the top 5, but he didn't put tags in that post so it flew under the radar I guess. Lmao yeah, I didn't tag anyone because I had literally just tagged everyone like half a dozen times while doing reveals, so I figured people would show up for those tags and not need another one. Not to mention the whole post saying, "Here is your top 5. Now vote on the next album!" I decided to give the poll a deadline for the end of the weekend because I meant to finish this rankdown before then. But of course, my fancy new supposedly-more-reliable internet has been down and out for the last couple days, so I haven't been able to finish this yet! Lmao so the timing of the poll just looks really stupid now

Alright folks, considering how many people didn't get a chance to vote because I misjudged my window for finishing this rankdown, I have re-started the poll :) If you already voted, please vote again, because all responses were deleted. If you didn't get to vote before, now's your chance! This time it doesn't have an expiration date Although I will plan to announce the next album within the next couple days, so don't procrastinate!

So cry for me baby, and I'll cry for you, And we'll both break down, and we'll both break through. We'll find our way and we'll face the truth. We both will be stronger. And we'll lie down in our loneliness And wake up with our sad regrets, And even though we don't know it yet, We both will be stronger. We both will be stronger.

"Stronger" is a song that I am shocked to see in the top 5! Not because it is a bad song or anything, but because the studio version is basically 100% obsolete now that she has put out that incredible live recording on her Greatest Hits album... Lol the studio version now sounds like it was neutered. I pretty much always skip it now because the live version is so incredible. This song is so fun to hear live Lol I was PUMPED when she sang it on the Soul 2 Soul tour a couple years ago, because I honestly wasn't expecting it to still sound so good after all these years!

There's a voice inside, And I heard it promise me When you came along I'd know you by heart. Like a familiar song, Every word is telling me That the time has finally come, Now here you are.

"Baby You Belong" is an incredible song, and I am thrilled to see it do so well here. After how poorly it did in the singles rankdown (#36 out of 40), I was worried it might flop here too...

Our love's true. Our love's the rising sun. Our love's in bloom. Our love has just begun. Our love is proof Of what was yet to come. But you don't want it... You don't want to take.

"If This Is The End" bows out at #3, as the highest-finishing album track of the rankdown. I am so glad this song did so well, and managed to be the highest album track! I personally think this is one of the best album tracks of her career I come back to this one all the time, and love it more every single time! Her vocals here are on point; especially that epic vocal run she does at the end of the song! Of course, this one is succumbing to the obvious and correct top 2, so I am fine seeing it leave now

lol Love how in the graphic, only when Kanenrá:ke Stacey and me, got our votes counted, it is visual proof that we did our best to change the tide, as marked by the little spikes, but we were unsuccessful :'(

You all may notice heading into this top 2 that literally nobody has lost their #1 other than austin... Both remaining songs have more than 5 #1s each! Both songs spent significant chunks of time at #1, and were very close for the entire submission process! In the end, the winner only won by 3 points. The final reveal will come in a little bit. I have to go pick up my uncle from a meeting, so ruminate on those thoughts for a bit! Lol

I agree 100% Stronger has gained a whole new life with the live arrangement and performance Faith does. It’s so visceral and raw. The particular version on her The Hits album, especially the moment when she goes for that one huge note... It always gives goosebumps

When the lights go down, He'll be fillin' a pan with a broom in his hand In some dive across town. He'll be wiping the bar and moppin' the floor, Countin' his tips and lockin' the doors, Wrestling the devil that tells him to pour another round. When the lights go down.

There you have it! "Cry" wins out as the ultimate champion, as I am sure just about everyone expected... And WTLGD was the primary competition, as just about everybody expected. What you may or may not have expected, however, is that "When The Lights Go Down" was actually the primary #1 contender for the majority of the submission process! The two were separated by a mere point or two for the longest time, but "Cry" was usually doing just a point or two behind. Ultimately austin's tanking of WTLGD was the blow that took it down, allowing "Cry" to catch back up. @xfer's similar tanking of "Cry" right afterwards turned the tables in WTLGD's favor once again, but Cody Wants Out... and dub' ranks both fell in favor of "Cry", helping it to barely sneak back ahead at the end. Personally, I think this is the right outcome, considering the way that "Cry" kicked WTLGD's ass in the singles rankdown. However, I was pleased that it ended up being as close as it was! It made for a really exciting rankdown! Thank you to everyone who followed along or participated in this first installment of the Faith Hill album series I had fun with this album, and am so excited for the next one!!

Oh well... we (people who voted for WTLGD) got the runner up position, which is amazing after all is said and done. If only I had REALLY tanked Cry, then maybe the outcome would be different lol
Thank you bboat11 for the fun rankdown! ♥

"Cry" feels like the right winner for this album rankdown, but it makes me happy that "When the Lights Go Down" didn't go down without a fight! Without a doubt the two strongest tracks on the album and the correct top 2, even if they were in reverse order of my preference. Her low register on WTLGD is just enthralling. One of my favorite Faith Hill vocals on record. Thanks for hosting bboat11. Looking forward to what looks to be her self-titled album up next?
