If you just look at the lyrics on paper for "A Man's Home Is His Castle" it looks like a daunting undertaking to try and record, so for that Faith did a great job on. As much as I appreciate her effort and this song, though, I've just never really felt like revisiting it much which is why "Bed of Roses" will always be my favorite album track.

The first song to bow out of this top 5 is the final remaining album track. "A Man's Home Is His Castle" never really had any competition for being the highest album track. It could never quite penetrate the 4 remaining singles, but it had very little trouble holding off "You Can't Lose Me" once things started to solidify.

This one's big problem was that it tended to be pretty polarizing (the most polarizing on the album, in fact!) taylor is terrified and gardyfan both lose their #1 here, the first people of the rankdown to suffer such a fate. The vast majority of the other participants lost a top 5, but a weird trio of 8 and 9 ranks helped hold this one back from getting any further.

This song is one of my favorite lyrical pieces of Faith's career The nonchalant way that "Linda" tells this story of her abuse the hands of "Jimmy" makes the hair on your neck stand up, and Faith's vocals on top of it are goosebump-worthy. It's one of those songs that very fittingly could have made its way to Martina or Reba in a perfect world, but I do think Faith did it justice!

"I Can't Do That Anymore" was an early #2 contender, just like "You Can't Lose Me"! Also just like YCLM, this one proved to be unable to hold on in the long run. However, this one securely held on to the top 4 without much difficulty.

I am always shocked at how polarizing this song tends to be on Pulse. I always thought this was one of her most classic, well-loved hits before rankdowns became a thing! This always felt to me like one of the most iconic female ballads of the '90s, just like the title track. However, Pulse continues to treat it like a low-priority single. I'm thrilled it was at least not the lowest single!!

I’m actually not all too surprised that “I Can’t Do That Anymore” has been one of her more polarizing songs on Pulse because I don’t seem to care much for this song back during its initial release. As time has gone by, though, I’ve come to really appreciate this song more now than ever.

Also, I’ve always wondered about the story behind this song considering it was written solely by Alan Jackson and how Faith got ahold of it to record. I’m pretty sure this was about the time he was having some martial issues due to extramarital affairs so I’ve just always longed to know more about this song lol.

With our #3, we say goodbye to "Let's Go To Vegas", one of Faith Hill's campiest singles! She totally nails this one though, and I am really glad to see how well it did here. This one was a #2 contender towards the end. In fact, the battle was pretty much neck-and-neck with our real #2 finisher! This song saw a slurry of #2 ranks and a #1 from austin, but it also seemed to pick up a lot of 6s along the way, which is undoubtedly what helped push it out of the top 2 considering how stiff the competition on this album is...

I’ve always liked “Let’s Go to Vegas” but there’s always been something about it that I find to be a bit grating. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but for a lack of a better word it just comes across as somewhat cheesy.

I remember liking "Let's Go to Vegas" more when I listened to it for the singles RD... but now it's in the bottom half of the album for me. Weird how first impressions can definitely differ from how you feel years later about certain songs.

It Matters to Me is trully an amazing album. It's a perfect country music (not too pop like some of her later albums, great lyrics, great instrumentation and other than Keep Walkin' On there is no bad song on it).

A Man's Home Is His Castle is amazing - I initially liked this song because of melody and outstanding vocal performance but when I read the lyrics I started to appreciate this song on a whole other level I mean
"He will never see the way he treats me is a crime
Somebody oughta lock him up
but I'm the one Who's done the time"
is really a superb writing.

I Can't Do That Anymore is one of the first Faith's song I have ever heard and it's still my favourite. A true country masterpiece.

Okay, so I've just looked at a couple that came to mind immediately, and this is indeed not a new accomplishment, although it is pretty rare!

Martina's The Way That I Am album, out of 15 participants, 14 put "Independence Day" in their top 2!! The one outlier put it at #3 :)

Also Pam Tillis' debut album, EVERYBODY had "Maybe It Was Memphis" in their top 2!!!!

So both of those are either on par with or better than It Matters To Me's accomplishment here :)

So sad to see I missed 'It Matters To Me'...but other than pushing "I Can't Do That Anymore" to #1 where it belongs everything went out exactly how I'd have ranked them so it wouldn't have changed anything haha.
