Just sent in my ranking! Out of all the years we've done so far, this was easily the one I was least familiar with. I only knew about 20 of these songs going in. It was a great year though. My top 15 or so was as solid as ever and there were only a couple of songs that I didn't really care for.

Okay I can see a few songs already that could be right up there for me, with one in particular (Tasmin Archer) potentially being one of my oddball-high-rankings-that-everyone-else-tanks. Aaaannnnddd the f**king Proclaimers. Potential #100 Alert. You might be surprised. Just finished. The top was a little thinner than last year, but I still liked a decent amount of these. My #100 may be the worst song I've heard on one of these since Hey Mister. And no, it's not the Proclaimers.

currently in the bathroom at work and realized I needed to post a survey so here’s one that I totally didn’t copy from Red- What songs do you think could be in the top ten? Have a #1 prediction? - What songs do you think could be in the bottom ten? Have a #100 prediction? - What songs could potentially have high standard deviations? - Likewise, what songs could potentially have low standard deviations? - What song in your top ten do you think could go out first? - What song in your bottom ten do you think could go out last? - Where did you rank your favorite discovery?

- What songs do you think could be in the top ten? Have a #1 prediction? The only songs I feel remotely confident about are "Plush", the two Cranberries songs, "Creep", and maybe "Cherub Rock" and "Regret". Maybe Depeche Mode gets there (though I'm not sure which one gets there...maybe both). Maybe "No Rain"? I think a couple of the top ten spots are wide open. As for #1, I'd say that it's "Plush" until it's not, but I'm not sure.
- What songs do you think could be in the bottom ten? Have a #100 prediction? Honestly, this is the most I've ever been unsure about a bottom ten in an Alt rankdown. I don't see a lot of obvious bottom ten contenders, and even the most obvious ones will likely have supporters. My best bet is "One in Ten", but I'm not even 100% sure about that.
- What songs could potentially have high standard deviations? I will eat my words if "My Name Is Mud" and "Human Behaviour" do not have high SDs. I have a hunch that at least one of the Duran Duran songs will have a high SD, too.
- Likewise, what songs could potentially have low standard deviations? There's a couple of songs I'm interested to see if anyone could possibly rank them low, mainly "Regret". But there's always something unassuming on the lower end, so let's roll with The Connells and "Candy Everybody Wants".
- What song in your top ten do you think could go out first? If my #5 is not the first one out, my jaw will actually drop to the floor. I expect it to miss the top half.
- What song in your bottom ten do you think could go out last? I have a bad feeling that it will be my #96.
- Where did you rank your favorite discovery? #15. I'm annoyed that it was even a discovery at all.

- What songs do you think could be in the top ten? Have a #1 prediction? The Pilots are going to do what they couldn't last year and win with Plush. I see the rest of the top 10 being comprised of Dreams, Cherub Rock, Regret, Walking In My Shoes, Linger, Cannonball, No Rain, Man on the Moon, and Creep (although this could suffer the "populist pick falls at #11" curse and leave room for something like Come Undone, Soul To Squeeze, Feed The Tree...dare I say some shocker underdog like Dream All Day or Sister Havana - What songs do you think could be in the bottom ten? Have a #100 prediction? Can't Help Falling In Love, Trout, She Kissed Me, Stand Above Me, Iron Lion Zion, Being Simple, Everything in the World, Thing of Beauty, One In Ten, Sweet Lullaby -- though honestly I don't feel more than 30% sure about anything past She Kissed Me - What songs could potentially have high standard deviations? Ordinary World, 500 Miles, Connected, The Ghost At Number One, U2, Primus, Mrs. Robinson, Dizz Knee Land? Love U More? The Sting songs? Steam? Lenny Kravitz? Pearl Jam? - Likewise, what songs could potentially have low standard deviations? Random inoffensive songs that'll land all over the map like Sublime, Wembley, Slackjawed, the Ned's Atomic Dustbin songs, World Party - What song in your top ten do you think could go out first? My 7 or 9. Related: I'm prepared for this to be the first time in a while that my #1 falls outside the overall top 10 - What song in your bottom ten do you think could go out last? 98 for sure

not answering the first four questions as this is probably the least confident I've felt about guessing results in a while, and I already never feel confident in the first place lmao
- What song in your top ten do you think could go out first?
quite a few options here, but I'm going to guess my #4 or #5
- What song in your bottom ten do you think could go out last?
my #93?
- Where did you rank your favorite discovery?
#1 lol
(half of my top ten were discoveries, in fact, including my #2 as well)

- What songs do you think could be in the top ten? Have a #1 prediction? Creep (#1), Plush, Heart Shaped Box, Soul to Squeeze, Cherub Rock, probably one of Dreams or Linger.
- What songs do you think could be in the bottom ten? Have a #100 prediction? The UB40 songs (100), Numb, My Name is Mud, The Gift, One/both of the Frank Black songs.
- What songs could potentially have high standard deviations? Diz Nee Land, Eastern Bloc, Eat the Music, Zooropa. Oh, and Trout
- Likewise, what songs could potentially have low standard deviations? The UB40 Elvis Cover, the Cranberry songs, Creep
- What song in your top ten do you think could go out first? I'd lean towards #5. Hopefully, it stays into the top 40.
- What song in your bottom ten do you think could go out last? #96. Just a hunch, but hopefully I'm not the only one that had issues. Although #93 could also stick around awhile.
- Where did you rank your favorite discovery? #12

hey guys, sorry about this but I'm going to have to start reveals tomorrow. I had a lot of unforeseen things happen that increased my anxiety to the max, so I just don't think I can handle reveals at this hour with this level of stress. so, if you have a list you can send it in tomorrow. I'll probably start around 9-ish. sorry if this is any inconvenience, I'll be doing 20 reveals for the first 3 days and then resume regular reveals.
thanks for understanding guys

- What songs do you think could be in the top ten? Have a #1 prediction?Could it be? Finally? Way Over due.? They deserve it too. Oh my the excitement. - What songs do you think could be in the bottom ten? Have a #100 prediction? There are three WTF songs that I seriously hated. Please be one of these. - What songs could potentially have high standard deviations?I'm thinking at least one of my top 10. and that EDM travesty. - Likewise, what songs could potentially have low standard deviations?Thomas Dolby. Everyone loves Thomas Dolby. BTW the correct title of the song is "Eastern Bloc" ("Europa and the Pirate Twins Part II") idk if that helped any of you out, but it sure helped me. plus Eddie Van Halen does guitar on that one. - What song in your top ten do you think could go out first? One of my first time listens. The one at #9. True story, - What song in your bottom ten do you think could go out last?take your pick. I'm great at tanking PULSE favorites that surprise even me. - Where did you rank your favorite discovery?I kind of already gave it away. #7.

... I'm actually really excited for this year. I don't know why, but like I remember being in early college and just listening to alt hits of 1993 specifically, so I know a lot of these songs already and they feel like classics to just me (which is nice because a lot of these big 90s alt classics just sound like wallpaper to me, so in "loaded" years like 94 I'm comparatively dispassionate about all these songs I've heard 1800 times and never want to hear again), so I'm excited to see how these get ranked. ... I swear I don't know why I found such fascination with the 1993 alt chart a few years ago). But this is a very nice list, it's a weird transitional phase between the new wave sound of the early alt chart and the like "modern rock" sound of the 90s as we know it, so I appreciate all the weird off the wall picks here. Not really anything I dislike on this whole list ... I’m also super excited for this (& earlier years) ... about 15 years ago I bought a few books of chart research compiled by Joel Whitburn. I made sure to discover EVERY song that ever charted on Alt (the books only went thru ‘95) So many amazing tunes here that no longer get much airplay but that I love as I graduated from college in the early 90s & so many of these songs are wrapped up in (good & not-so-good) memories
