Someone loses their number one song at #22. It had the same amount of points as "I Keep On Loving You" but the #1 ranking broke the tiebreaker.

Wish Kellie Pickler's songs had made the top 20 here, but at least they both came pretty close. Two of her best. Love, love, love both of them!

Pickler made it much farther than I expected; grateful for that at least. I thought for sure Dierks would end up in the top 10 since this is one of the few times he wasn't in the bottom 20 for me.

Some pretty incredible songs in this top 20. There's only about 3ish that I'm not particularly fond of, and I don't see any of those as contenders for winning this, so that's good news for me.

#18. Lady Antebellum - "American Honey"
Total Points: 659 Average: 41.1 Year Released: January 11th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #1 Billboard Peak: #1 Rankings:Cody Wants Out... - 4 ClevelandRox - 5 g8erboi - 11 someguy - 14 tim - 16 gardyfan - 19 George Strait Junkie - 30 kw9461 - 34 .indulgecountry - 35 toomuchboy - 39 sabre14 - 50 recordyear - 51 LBTrocks - 79 Kanenrá:ke - 90 bboat11 - 91 castleoblivion26 - 91 Following: Mylo13 💜 "American Honey" was released as the second single off Lady Antebellum's Need You Now album in January of 2010. It reached #1 by April. The song was written by Carly Barlowe, Hillary Lindsey and Shane Stevens.
I remember how refreshing this sounded when it came out. "Need You Now" was a huge hit and crossed over to pop radio, so I half expected them to go that direction again but then they picked this as the second single, which was very country leaning. The music video was filmed while the weather was still chilly out, they had to pretend it was summertime lol. You can see Dave's breath vividly in some of the shots. Lady A said they were freezing shooting this music video.

#17. Craig Morgan - "This Ain't Nothin'"
Total Points: 653 Average: 40.8 Year Released: January 25th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #13 Billboard Peak: #13 Rankings:George Strait Junkie - 1 sabre14 - 4 Kanenrá:ke - 12 tim - 14 .indulgecountry - 16 Cody Wants Out... - 19 castleoblivion26 - 28 bboat11 - 38 LBTrocks - 38 g8erboi - 39 kw9461 - 51 gardyfan - 67 recordyear - 70 ClevelandRox - 73 toomuchboy - 81 someguy - 102 Following: Mylo13 💜"This Ain't Nothin'" was released as the fourth and final single off Craig Morgan's That's Why album in January of 2010. It peaked at #13 in September. The song was issued on later copies of the album. It was written by Chris DuBois and Kerry Kurt Phillips. This is my second-favorite single of Craig's behind "Almost Home." He was the perfect vocalist for this kind of song. I just love the kind of songs if they're written well and I think this one was -- it took a detailed approach. I remember Craig's stellar "The Ballad of Mr. Jenkins" never getting a release off Little Bit of Life but this was along the same lines and had the same emotion, so I was always happy this song, despite not making the top 10, did pretty well at radio for him. George Strait Junkie loses his #1 here.

#16. Easton Corbin - "Roll With It"

It was released in April of 2010 and reached #1 in October. The song was written by David Lee, Tony Lane and Johnny Parker.
I love this song. It has a subject we've seen a thousand times and it's title is rather blah but that's where my criticism ends. I think the melody is superb and so is the music and production. Easton's twangy vocals sells it so good, too. I blasted this when it was at radio that summer. I really thought Easton would stick around a long time at radio when this came out. 100 ranks? Okay...

So close to a perfect ranking, lol.
"This Ain't Nothin'" is quintessential country music lyrically and melodically. Such a hard-hitting tune. The vocal performance that Craig Morgan turns in on this is easily his best and the story in the lyrics was a welcome change from a lot of his 'redneck is as redneck does' stuff.

Craig Morgan's voice/singing style just puts me off so much. I think if someone else had recorded that song, I would have enjoyed it so much more.

Stuck Like Glue is everything I don't want in country music lumped together: over-twangy vocals, horribld reggae components (seriously if yoi think that stuff from Jimmy Buffett/Zac Brown Band is bad you should not like this one). But surprisingly (?) I hate the intro the most. The "mm-eh" made me have no desire to hear whole song. If the music video looks homemade, that's because it is lol. It cost $80 to make and features writers Mark Hudson and Victoria Shaw; along with pop group Hanson. Yeah I would like to know whose idea is it to make that bizarre visual effect from 1:08-1:11. It belongs to a rock music video not country music video. Can we save the high rankings for songs from 100 Proof for Kellie Pickler instead of generic songs from her second album? The two Reba songs should be swapped in position. Always love the instrumentals in Draw Me A Map. Great for a contemporary bluegrass song. That gap in points between #21 and #20 though. Both Lady Antebellum songs here are better than Need You Now but they don't have to be this high.

"Almost Home" is the only song I've ever liked by him. I like his voice fine. It's the material that isn't too great, imo.
Hopefully "Little White Church," "Highway 20 Ride," "Only Prettier," and "White Liar" are among the five to miss top 10.

I think Clay Walker is living on borrowed time. Other than that, I can see a case being made for anyone else to be in the top 10.

I have so much I need to catch up on... I'll comment more extensively on the top 20 so far, but first a few thoughts about the pre-top-20. I have never been much of a fan of Dierks' bluegrass phase. I can see why some people like it, but it is just not really my cup of tea. Pleasantly surprised to see him do worse than normal in this rankdown! Oh yeah, I forgot Reba was my #1. I am SHOCKED that "I Keep On Lovin' You" managed to place higher than "Turn On The Radio", even if it was by only 1 position and 1 point. IKOLY has several nice steel guitar moments in the musical arrangement, and Reba sounds fantastic, but melodically it is a little boring. TOTR is SO much better in nearly every way, unless you are strictly looking for traditional country. I love the energy of this song, and the sassy fire in Reba's vocals I am a bit shocked by Kellie's turnout here. "Didn't You Know How Much I Love You" is one of the best songs of her entire career, and it was robbed in a big way by missing out on the top 20. Although I shouldn't be surprised that it fell victim to most of the same tankers as every song with a big-voiced female vocal performance usually does. "Makin' Me Fall In Love Again", however, is a very average song. I'm shocked it did as well as it did. Now for the top 20!
VERY pleasantly surprised to see George make it into the top 20! I didn't think that he would do very well this year, but "I Gotta Get To You" is a super underrated hit from him. I'm pleased with its performance here. "Our Kind Of Love" is pretty catchy, but this feels like a good time for it to leave. "American Honey" has always been rather boring to me, so I am continuously shocked when it seems to be so loved on Pulse... "This Ain't Nothin'" is such a fantastic song!! The lyrics especially are a message that was worth telling, but the music video is also really perfect. Craig's voice may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I agree with those who say that is was perfect for this song. "Roll With It" continues to get done dirty in rankdowns! This song shits all over "A Little More Country Than That" imo, but always does worse in rankdowns :( This one should have been a top 10 contender. Thoughts on the top 15:
I am so happy to see Martina still going strong!!!!! I have been expecting her to leave anytime now for like the last 30 reveals!! I never expect her late-career material to do very well in these year-end rankdowns, so every reveal that is not her is like a huge blessing! I would not be shocked at all if she manages to miss the top 10. I am SHOCKED that "Highway 20 Ride" is still in, considering how Pulse feels about ZBB. Would have expected this one to perform more like "Free". Also would not be surprised to see Keith lose it all before the top 10. I mean, "Til Summer Comes Around" finished LAST in g8erboi's most recent rankdown It feels weird not having any Sara Evans in the top 15. Pretty much everything that is left though totally deserves to make the top 10!!! It's hard to predict what will miss, but I'll give it a shot. "Highway 20 Ride" "The Truth" "I'm In" "She Won't Be Lonely Long" "Til Summer Comes Around"

It peaked at #3 in April of 2010. The song was written by Keith and Monty Powell.
This is probably my favorite Keith Urban single. I think the production and music are perfect for its subject and lyrics. It has that eerie feel to it and that's the sense you get from Keith while he sings it. The lyrics are also descriptive and the chorus melody is really good. I've heard a few people on Pulse over the years express distaste for this one and I'm not sure why? It's a shame it's not played on the radio anymore.

I still hear "Til Summer Comes Around" every once in a great while on country radio and whenever that happens I feel blessed because that is Keith Urban at his best, well written lyrics, great melody, and sounding vocally sad and lonesome which is what that type of song needs.

I thought this had a wild card chance of being a single off the Revolution but was kind of shocked when they did pick it lol. I think it's fun and takes on a creative look on its subject. I'm still bummed "Me and Your Cigarettes" never got to radio but I have no problem with "Only Prettier."

The album title was "Wrong Baby Wrong Baby Wrong."
I didn't care for the first two singles off this album by Martina but I enjoyed "Wrong Baby Wrong." This was my favorite single of hers since "Anyway." The production and melody were very good.
