#101. Toby Keith - "Trailerhood"
Total Points: 1,254 Average: 78.3 Year Released: June 28th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #21 Billboard Peak: #19 Rankings:George Strait Junkie - 27 bboat11 - 32 kw9461 - 45 LBTrocks - 52 gardyfan - 54 sabre14 - 55 recordyear - 68 toomuchboy - 75 Cody Wants Out... - 80 .indulgecountry - 80 Kanenrá:ke - 95 castleoblivion26 - 104 someguy - 118 ClevelandRox - 121 tim - 122 g8erboi - 126
"When the storm starts gettin' bad, you hear those sirens hummin' grab a six-pack and a lawn chair, there's a tornado comin'""Trailerhood" was released in June of 2010 as the lead single off Toby Keith's Bullets in the Gun album. The song would be a rare top 20 peak at Billboard (#19) and non-top 20 peak at Mediabase (#21) by late August. It was written entirely by Toby.
I actually love this song lol. I liked too many others to rank it higher but it's a harmless jam. Is it stupid with a ridiculous title? Sure is, but it makes up for it with a great melody and quirky fun lyrics. It was a perplexing choice for a lead single though.

I love Billy Currington's voice in general, but "That's How Country Boys Roll" is just boring.

Toby continues to get done dirty in rankdowns lol
"Trailerhood" is good, very enjoyable melody, but yes it is not one of his best songs.

For some reason I grouped Trailerhood with the other two Toby's in this rankdown (which I don't like at all), but I've tried making up for it with a much higher slot in the Toby Keith rankdown. 🤡

Steel Magnolia never worked for me as a duo at all. Their voices honestly sound atrocious when they harmonize. It's ear-splitting. And that "Just By Being You" song was just ghastly.
"Trailerhood" is meh. Not one of Toby's strongest songs, but it's infinitely better than that ridiculous Dr. Seuss song about dogs.

Maybe I dig the sunny vibe in Free more than you guys. Country ain't all heavy stuff... "She can wear the pants as long as I can take 'em off her" is such a creepy line from Pants. It is still weird when "she" is his partner. I mainly remember that long note of "girl..." in the chorus of It's Just That Way, but yeah it is not memorable otherwise. Still pleasant tune though. Unstoppable deserves better vocalists, even though I don't think they sound too bad in that one. The story in Farmer's Daughter is fine. Hillbilly Bone is annoying af. At least it's not as annoying as Boys 'Round Here but that's a very low standard. Summer Thing and That's How Country Boys Roll have decent melodies but the subject matters are trivial. And I still don't know why Kenny Chesney loves to choose very long songs (6 minutes unedited is definitely long) as singles. It is acceptable though. Y'all really let Hard Hat And A Hammer out before #100...It is a good ode to the working men, and is 100% country music, smh at this one. Well the worst one of three Toby Keith songs is out now and I have no complaint.
So where's my #126? Please leave in the next set of reveals!

#99. Bucky Covington - "A Father's Love (The Only Way He Knew How)"
Total Points: 1,229 Average: 76.8 Year Released: March 8th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #24 Billboard Peak: #23 Rankings:kw9461 - 10 .indulgecountry - 26 sabre14 - 35 Cody Wants Out... - 45 toomuchboy - 57 Kanenrá:ke - 68 castleoblivion26 - 72 gardyfan - 88 g8erboi - 89 someguy - 91 LBTrocks - 103 tim - 104 ClevelandRox - 105 George Strait Junkie - 105 recordyear - 115 bboat11 - 116 "A Father's Love (The Only Way He Knew How)" was released in March of 2010 as what was supposed to be off a new Lyric Street album for Bucky Covington. It peaked at #23 on Billboard in July. The song was written by Thom Sheperd, Steve Williams and Liz Hengber. Hengber has written many songs, such as "Forever Love" by Reba, "The Power of One" by Bomshel and "Unconditional" by Clay Davidson.
Lyric Street Records folded right after this song's promotion was dropped. It was later included on Bucky's Good Guys album in 2012. High Valley covered the song in 2011 and made it a hit in Canada.
This might be my favorite Bucky Covington single. I know he isn't a favorite at Pulse but he had some decent songs. My dad was very similar to this song. He wasn't that stereotypical rule with an iron fist dad but he always wanted to make sure my car was running fine and just getting all of my "adulting" things in order. I don't think I've ever heard him say "I love you" to me and I've known him 30 years lol. He doesn't have to though, I know he does and all the things he did for me say it enough.

#98. Uncle Kracker - "Smile"
Total Points: 1,226 Average: 76.6 Year Released: February 5th, 2010 (country radio) Mediabase Peak: #6 Billboard Peak: #6 Rankings:kw9461 - 8 someguy - 40 g8erboi - 41 bboat11 - 58 tim - 61 sabre14 - 63 Kanenrá:ke - 77 ClevelandRox - 82 gardyfan - 84 Cody Wants Out... - 85 toomuchboy - 88 George Strait Junkie - 95 LBTrocks - 101 castleoblivion26 - 102 recordyear - 120 .indulgecountry - 121 "Smile" was a pop radio release for Uncle Kracker in 2009 but it was officially released to the country radio format after charting a dozen weeks based on unsolicited airplay in February of 2010. The song peaked at #6 in September. It was promoted through Bigger Picture. The song was written by Blair Daly, JT Harding, Matthew Shafer and Jeremy Bose.
I thought this might be polarizing since Uncle Kracker sings it but I never had a problem with this one. It was overplayed in 2010 and a few years after that as a gold title but I enjoyed the country remix of this song and the original was good, too.

#97. Sarah Marince - "In The Mean Time"
Total Points: 1,222 Average: 76.3 Year Released: August, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #45 Billboard Peak: #59 Rankings:.indulgecountry - 40 Kanenrá:ke - 53 someguy - 54 toomuchboy - 54 LBTrocks - 59 bboat11 - 63 g8erboi - 73 castleoblivion26 - 75 recordyear - 78 tim - 81 sabre14 - 85 ClevelandRox - 87 George Strait Junkie - 89 kw9461 - 100 Cody Wants Out... - 110 gardyfan - 121 "In The Mean Time" by Sarah Marince was a song that charted a couple weeks in August of 2010. Sarah was an unsigned artist that got syndicated spins on Blair Garner's After Midnite show...hence, why her song got to #45 on Mediabase and just #59 on Billboard. Low audience with overnight spins but still got enough spins to get a big enough MB point total. Blair wanted to showcase Sarah after meeting her. Sarah has been a singer, actress and voice-over talent in her career. She's from the Pittsburgh area.
Decent song but isn't something I'll go out of my way to listen to. The only other time I recall a non-signed artist charting a single was Waycross in 2007 with "Nineteen."

“How I Got To Be This Way” is probably my favorite Justin Moore song. It’s fantastic musically, vocally, and lyrically.

I knew the Uncle Kracker song would do poorly, but what's wrong with the Bucky Covington song? Easily Bucky's best song, and a genuinely earnest father-son song that I've always really, really liked.

#96. Lee Ann Womack - "There Is A God"
Total Points: 1,221 Average: 76.3 Year Released: November 2nd, 2009 Mediabase Peak: #31 Billboard Peak: #32 Rankings:.indulgecountry - 19 recordyear - 19 bboat11 - 28 Cody Wants Out... - 32 castleoblivion26 - 51 g8erboi - 58 George Strait Junkie - 84 LBTrocks - 86 sabre14 - 94 Kanenrá:ke - 96 gardyfan - 97 tim - 103 someguy - 107 kw9461 - 108 ClevelandRox - 113 toomuchboy - 126 "There Is a God" was released in November of 2009 by Lee Ann Womack. The single was never included on an album. It peaked at #31 on Mediabase in February/March of 2010. The song was written by Chris DuBois and Ashley Gorley. It would be her final charting single and her last with MCA Nashville.
The same song was recorded and released to radio by Trent Willmon in 2007, although that version didn't chart off Trent's small Compadre Records.
I don't dislike this one at all, I think it's a fine song and the music and production are excellent. I do believe in God myself but I totally get why this one would be polarizing with some. It was however a perplexing radio single choice. I'm not sure why they picked it as what was supposed to be a lead single.

#95. Blaine Larsen - "Chillin'"
Total Points: 1,221 Average: 76.3 Year Released: February 16th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #36 Billboard Peak: #38 Rankings:castleoblivion26 - 11 George Strait Junkie - 12 kw9461 - 32 sabre14 - 43 .indulgecountry - 49 someguy - 57 toomuchboy - 71 Kanenrá:ke - 72 recordyear - 93 g8erboi - 104 Cody Wants Out... - 106 LBTrocks - 108 tim - 112 bboat11 - 115 ClevelandRox - 117 gardyfan - 119 "Chillin'" was released in February of 2010 by Blaine Larsen off Treehouse Records. The label was started by his management company. It would later merge with Stroudavarious, who took over promotion. "Chillin'" peaked at #36 on Mediabase in July. It was written by Larsen, Ed Hill and Phil O'Donnell. Blaine also charted two other singles off Treehouse/Straoudavarious ("It Did", "Leavin'").
I love this song and love all of Blaine's singles. It's a travesty he never took off while he was on BNA Records from 2004-2007. I sort of get why people wouldn't like this one but it definitely needs more than one listen. Superb vocals, great melody and the production/music is on point with the song's lyrics. I think people were too harsh on this song here.

#94. Steve Azar - "Sunshine"
Total Points: 1,220 Average: 76.2 Year Released: January 11th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #26 Billboard Peak: #27 Rankings:Kanenrá:ke - 26 recordyear - 32 George Strait Junkie - 34 ClevelandRox - 49 someguy - 49 kw9461 - 66 toomuchboy - 79 castleoblivion26 - 81 .indulgecountry - 86 gardyfan - 92 sabre14 - 93 g8erboi - 94 LBTrocks - 100 Cody Wants Out... - 105 tim - 116 bboat11 - 118 "Sunshine" was released in January of 2010 by Steve Azar's Ride Records. It peaked at #26 on Mediabase in September. The song was off his Slide On Over Here album and written by Azar and Jason Young. The album credited title was "Sunshine (Everybody Needs a Little)" but only credited as "Sunshine" on MB.
This song grew on me a bit and avoided an 100 ranking but it's pretty sleepy if you ask me. I like most of Steve's output but this one and "Moo La Moo" are definitely at the bottom. Side note: Steve has me blocked on Twitter and I haven't the slightest idea why because I never interacted with him lol.

Chillin' should be a disposable song, but he elevates it with his A+ vocals and a memorable melody. His version of Leavin' (which had been a hit in Canada for Paul Brandt) was even better, one of my very favorites from that time period. It's a shame he never got another chance at a decent sized label, he was so young when he was on BNA.

#93. Trailer Choir - "Rollin' Through The Sunshine"
Total Points: 1,220 Average: 76.2 Year Released: March 22nd, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #50 Billboard Peak: #50 Rankings:sabre14 - 10 recordyear - 36 LBTrocks - 42 ClevelandRox - 46 kw9461 - 59 bboat11 - 70 someguy - 77 toomuchboy - 82 Kanenrá:ke - 85 tim - 90 .indulgecountry - 94 g8erboi - 97 Cody Wants Out... - 100 castleoblivion26 - 105 George Strait Junkie - 111 gardyfan - 116 "Rollin' Through the Sunshine" was released in March of 2010 as fourth-career single for Trailer Choir. The song peaked at #50 in May. It was off their second album, Tailgate. The song was written by Marc Fortney, Vinny Hickerson and Isaac Rich.
Trailer Choir started off playing small shows and fraternities in the mid 2000's with Butter (Marc Fortney) and Big Vinny (Vincent Hickerson). They would add Crystal Hoyt to the group after she impressed during one live performance. They signed with Show Dog in 2007 after Toby Keith discovered them. Hoyt would leave the group in 2011. Trailer Choir are still a duo with Butter and Big Vinny, although Vinny lost a ton of his weight, after appearing on The Biggest Loser.
This song's melody is phenomenal. Trailer Choir were very hit or miss but "Rollin' Through the Sunshine" was fantastic. I love the easy-going lyrics, the production and even though Butter doesn't have a great voice, he sounds absolutely fine here. The music video added charm to the song too. Butter and Vinny are great guys in person. I think the 100 ranks had to be because it's Trailer Choir...

#91. Toby Keith - "Every Dog Has Its Day"
Total Points: 1,211 Average: 75.6 Year Released: March 8th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #14 Billboard Peak: #15 Rankings:bboat11 - 22 kw9461 - 38 LBTrocks - 47 someguy - 47 Cody Wants Out... - 51 recordyear - 52 sabre14 - 66 George Strait Junkie - 70 gardyfan - 77 g8erboi - 78 Kanenrá:ke - 99 toomuchboy - 108 .indulgecountry - 109 tim - 111 castleoblivion26 - 116 ClevelandRox - 120 "Every Dog Has Its Day" was released as the third and final single off Toby Keith's American Ride album in March of 2010. It peaked at #14 on Mediabase the first week of June. The song was written by Toby, Bobby Pinson and John Waples.
I have no problem with this song. It's got a certain charm about its melody and lyrics. It's undeniably Toby -- no other mainstream artist at the time would've written and released this. It's far from his best but I like it for what it is -- a fun diddy.
This was also during the time period when Toby was promoting his own songs, and he wanted a new album almost every year. If a song saw signs of struggle on the chart, Toby pulled it for another single immediately. It allowed him to work his timeline and was cost effective. That's why so many of his songs from 2008-2014 were up the chart in three months then gone.

sabre14 I have heard “Chillin’” many times since it’s release and it’s always remained atrocious lol. Blaine Larson has a fantastic voice and I too wish he would have made it big, but to go from “How Do You Get That Lonely” to this is such a huge disappointment. I don’t like Trailer Choir but damn this song has a really good melody. I agree, out too soon. “There Is A God” has a really bad chorus lol. Also... the lyrics don’t prove or disprove anything about God existing, so the song makes very little sense IMO. “All About Tonight” is decent but nothing I would go out of my way to hear. Surprised we’re even doing a Toby Keith rankdown lol do y’all like what only 5 or so of his songs?? He remains getting done dirty.

I always forget how catchy "Rollin Through The Sunshine" is until I listen to it, but the melody is really strong and memorable. Trailer Choir's album was actually pretty darn good. I particularly liked "Wal-Mart Flowers" and "Homemade Mexico", both of which would probably stood a better chance as singles that "Rollin' Through the Sunshine"

So often religious justifications and religious songs are just like "the Bible says so", or like "We know this because Jesus died for us!", and tbh that understandably not very convincing for very many people. Personally, I tend to see God's influence in the world through the small yet perfect details, such as how cell division just works so perfectly to perpetuate life, or how amazing it makes you feel when you receive an unexpected compliment or good news. So for me this song works WAY better than most songs about why God exists. Like, seeing a flock of birds flying around through some kind of perfect, natural formation for seemingly no reason whatsoever other than it's just what feels right for them, or planting a seed and watching it somehow turn into food, is way more compelling proof of God at work than "have you read the Bible?" Lol Of course, I really hate how the bridge of this song attempts to pit science against religion... It seems to suggest that you can't believe in science and also believe in God, which is literally one of the most ignorant things you could ever do... SO many of the problems in our world come from outright defying scientific consensus as if it is something you can choose to believe or ignore according to your own prerogative. If you do that, you are ignorant and stupid. End of discussion. I talked so much more about this a couple reveals ago in the Reba McEntire Sing It Now album rankdown when her version of "There Is A God" was revealed, so I'll stop now. Y'all can see more of my thoughts in that other thread :)

Y'all can see more of my thoughts in that other thread You make good points and I don't necessarily disagree, but I think my main problem is the bridge and I see that you kinda feel the same way lol. There is no way to shoot down the scientific theory of how the world was created. You certainly can't say "well sometimes cancer disappears and it feels really good to ride a horse so come on, God 100% exists." I mean, if we're talking about actual proof, nothing described in the song is proof. Of course there's no proof that there isn't a God either, so I guess it's kind of a moot point, but as Christians we are supposed to believe by Faith and I kinda find it a bit off-putting (for lack of a better word/phrase) when Christians get so hung up on trying to "prove" it. We can't. And sorry, but scientists and atheists will need a lot more proof than the "proof" displayed in the song. But above all else, my main problem with the song is the repeated 'There is a God' line in the chorus... sorry, musically it is totally unpleasant, grating, and repetitive. lol. ETA: One more thing... this song is clearly aimed at non-believers, not Christians. As a way to say they are wrong for believing what they believe. So that's why I'm a little more critical of the song's actual content than I might be otherwise.
