Someone pointed out Shawn would get two #1s this year under different circumstances and I... started to get annoyed at OTR's reign lmao.

MEGATRON seems to be stabilising on iTunes around the 7-10 region. How is it looking for a debut? Top 15? more like top 20-25

Señorita numbers on Spotify are impressive. It rose to #1 having about 10k streams more than OTR (2 versions combined, obviously).

OTR's BET performance has 1,2 million views on YT in 12h, that also counts.

Seniorita could become the next Closer with a top 10 debut and a eventual rise to number one.

Divine numbers for Senorita. Hope it eventually goes to No. 1. Feels like Shawn earned it. And the song is great too.

I really hope “Señorita” doesn’t become another one week top 10 like IICHY. And honestly I hope “You Need To Calm Down” sticks around for a while too, just because I love the part when Taylor harmonizes with herself in the chorus.

Imagine this scenario:
3 songs in a row were blocked by OTR
05/11 Taylor Swift (ft PATD) 05/18 Shawn Mendes 05/25 Ed Sheeran (ft Justin)
Another round!
06/29 Taylor Swift 07/06 Shawn Mendes (ft Camila) *most likely* 07/13 Ed Sheeran (ft Khalid) [???]

And people were heated when GLY blocked 4 songs lol That one was probably more annoying because of how small the point margins were between it and the #2 songs.

I think Señorita will hold up well, it's getting pushed to radio today with a radio deal and is now #1 on US Spotify currently. Either it or Truth Hurts will hit #1 next I think?

OLD TOWN ROAD's TIMELINE to tying ONE SWEET DAY/DESPACITO RECORD 15th week at #1: **Ed Sheeran releases collab mixtape/EP in July 12** July 12 is the potential 16th week for OTR. so it would be competing with Ed for the record?

I wouldn't be surprised to see them finally release the Young Thug remix of OTR the week Ed's album is released.

Why is everyone so sure one of the Ed Sheeran album tracks is going to compete for #1? He's by far the most streamed artist on Earth, if anyone's gonna compete that's not named Adele or Rihanna then it'll be Ed

Why is everyone so sure one of the Ed Sheeran album tracks is going to compete for #1? He's by far the most streamed artist on Earth, if anyone's gonna compete that's not named Adele or Rihanna then it'll be Ed But it's album tracks. His lead single with Justin Bieber, one of the other top streamed artists of all time, failed to reach #1 upon release week*. His second single, with two artists from the most streamed genre, peaked at #34 so far. I could see, maybe, if one of the new tracks was getting released as a single immediately with the album, but that doesn't seem at all likely with two current singles still going. I'm sure they'll do well, but I am highly skeptical of this "guaranteed #1 competition" vibe being thrown around. You would think we would've learned by now that this just isn't the case given the numerous times a "certain #1 artist" released a new song and... didn't go #1. And not just with "Old Town Road" as competition, but for several years now. Nothing is ever guaranteed here. *Yes, I realize this was because "Old Town Road" is massive, but that's precisely my point. We don't have a clue as to how anything will be performing that far in advance. For all we know there could be yet another "Old Town Road" remix or a brand new release from someone else. Hell, Ed's album might flop. Maybe all of the album tracks will perform just like "Cross Me." And, let's be real, if any of the collaborations is going to have enough hype to debut at #1 based off of names alone, it's not the Khalid track. Camila Cabello and Cardi B are on a track together with Ed. Plus Bruno Mars and Chris Stapleton. Those are the two likely to start off strong with name hype. But name hype only gets you so far. If people don't like them, we can kiss #1 goodbye. Hell, doesn't it seem more likely that "I Don't Care" would get a streaming and sales boost during album release to add to its much better airplay advantage and challenge for #1 rather than a brand new track?
