WHITNEY HOUSTON!!!!!!!
The fact that “Higher Love”, an ‘I’m Your Baby Tonight’ deluxe-edition track that was only released in East Asian Markets originally, is now entering the Hot 100 29 years later.
It would have been a smash hit for her had it been released, worldwide, in 1990/1991. An easy #1 hit.
A BONAFIDE LEGEND.
(Steve Winwood is collecting those royalty cheques)

American teenagers need a hobby. What happened to going to the beach or summer reading? They'd more likely be playing video games or watching YouTube. Video games are fun!

I knew America's quality control crapped out years ago (see: Trump) but this is ridiculous. Don't like bringing politics into things but since you did I say to you : MAGA!!

Gaining 1% in steams in the 14th week at #1 is crazy. This is breaking the record unless something completely unforeseen happens.
Billboard classifying "The Git Up" as Country... I think the designation is correct (and also think not having Old Town Road as Country is also correct) but I'm a little surprised that there doesn't seem to be a bigger discussion around that point. For example, is Billboard over compensating or regretting their decision on Old Town Road? OTR at least has made the Country airplay chart while the Git Up so far has not. Also regarding the Git Up, I'm a bit surprised that a viral song is selling so well but not Streaming proportionately as well. Unless perhaps Country fans are the main consumers as the Country audience tends to buy vs stream generally speaking. Still, for a genre so dependent on Airplay, it seems odd having the #1 Country Song be there almost exclusively on sales and streams.
Senorita seems to have better legs than You Need To Calm Down or the previous Mendes hit. More similar to I Don't Care.

“The Git Up” is #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, doing the work Old Town Road should have been allowed to

"OTR" still having so many user generated views is sorta crazy. I realize I shouldn't use my personal experience to mean much, but it just feels like hype has died down. Like, who is still making those videos?

Ok so with those user generated streams still that high, OTR will spend 30 weeks at number one. People like fhas can correct me if I'm wrong, but sales and streaming alone would've given OTR a #1 spot this week so all that airplay is extra. OTR doesn't need the sales either. That streaming stat is so big that it alone is enough to keep the song at #1.

In fact, the only weeks it needed more than streaming to be #1 were in its 1st week (vs. Sunflower) and 5th week (vs. ME!).
