I promised a mass Ballot Update, might as well get it in before I sleep. I had...greater ambitions for this, but not now. I also don't exactly have the energy to flesh out my wording or format this post in typical ballot update fashion, so you'll just have to do with this...Simpsons reference-less assortment of notes. Participants: peacebone, Butterflies & Hurricanes, singingrulebritannia, @xfer, Red, Doc Indie Party Rock, commerce196, rowellfarm490-#1 leads by 75 points, the rest of the top 10 is very close (42 point gap between #2 and #10) -Top 6 are within 100 points of #1 -Two songs have been at #1 - the initial #1 briefly returned to the top for one list after being unseated, then the next list brought the other #1 back -Four songs have not left the top 10 (with one not having left the top 5); they make up 4 of the current top 5 -Top 10 have at least 600 points, 29 songs with at least 500 points, 83 songs with at least 250 points, everything except for #100 has at least 100 points -The current #100 is firmly in place there, 71 points behind #99 (which itself is 23 points behind #98) and 164 points away from escaping the bottom 10 -Only the bottom 4 are within 100 points of #100 -The same songs have occupied the bottom two slots for the entire duration so far, but they did switch recently -Four of the current bottom 5 (as well as #94) have not escaped the bottom 10 -The two highest SDs are back-to-back at #45 and #46 (and are the highest SDs by a pretty decent amount); 3rd highest is at #78 -#100 holds the lowest SD, and it's not close (the next lowest SDs are at #83 and #4) -Ties: #30, #45 (3-way), #51, #58 (3-way), #78, #81, #94

Sent. I like the variety of this year. Several "dancey" songs which I'm sure will be tanked.

Sent this in. A lot of great first time listens and downloads, but like always I'm pretty sure I naturally tanked some favorite among the Alternative Rock year. probably something you all figured I would tank anyway. :kii:

I’m too unfamiliar with most of the songs to submit a ballot this time, but please tag me ( alexcuse) in reveals! My top ten would’ve been: Enya - Caribbean Blue Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike The Cure - Friday I'm in Love U2 - Mysterious Ways The Cure - High Pearl Jam - Jeremy The Cure - A Letter to Elise U2 - One Red Hot Chili Peppers - Suck My Kiss

In the leadup to reveals, I've got...a survey! 1. Predict what the top 10 will consist of (and #1, if you'd like). 2. Predict what the bottom 10 will consist of (and #100, if you'd like). 3. Which songs do you think will be the most divisive? 4. Which songs do you think will be the least divisive? 5. What do you think your first top 10 loss will be? 6. What do you think your first bottom 10 loss will be? 7. Where did you rank your favorite first listen? 8. Predict which song from each of the multiple-song artists will do best. Concrete Blonde: "Ghost of a Texas Ladies' Man" or "Someday" David Byrne/Talking Heads: "Lifetime Piling Up", "Sax and Violins", or "She's Mad" Dramarama: "Haven't Got a Clue" or "What Are We Gonna Do" Faith No More: "A Small Victory" or "Midlife Crisis" Ian McCulloch: "Hey That's No Way to Say Goodbye", "Honey Drip", or "Lover Lover Lover" INXS: "Heaven Sent", "Not Enough Time", or "Shining Star" Morrissey: "Glamorous Glue", "Tomorrow", or "We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful" Red Hot Chili Peppers: "Suck My Kiss" or "Under the Bridge" Siouxsie and the Banshees: "Face to Face" or "Fear (Of the Unknown)" Social Distortion: "Bad Luck" or "Cold Feelings" Teenage Fanclub: "Star Sign" or "The Concept" The B-52's: "Good Stuff" or "Tell It Like It T-I-Is" The Cure: "A Letter to Elise", "Friday I'm in Love", or "High" U2: "Even Better Than the Real Thing", "Mysterious Ways", "One", "Until the End of the World", or "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses"

I’m guessing half of the Top Ten will consist of: Come As You Are, Drive, Girlfriend, Jeremy, One
Black Metallic, Digging In The Dirt & Hunger Strike are possibilities
& ummm...if I have to guess on 2 more I’ll go with Friday, I’m In Love & Under The Bridge
...we’re past the point of favorite discoveries as I’ve heard all 100 of these many times before

So...with the exception of MoD (who I know is submitting by 7:30), submissions are closed.

Yeah I knew I wouldn't make the deadline for this one, it was bound to happen eventually. I just hope some of the surprises in my top ten make it far (and I don't see too many clear bottom tens but I do see a clear #100).

The battle for #100 wasn't even close. #100 was almost two entire lists behind #99. It was in the bottom 2 for the entire submission process, starting off at #99, dropping to #100 early on and permanently staying there.
Only one person even dared to rank this song in their top half...but it's a top 20. 80% of participants ranked this in their bottom 10 - the most of any song here - with all but six of those translating to bottom 5s, and five people starting off with perfect rankings.

I'll be more exact: #99 is 187 points ahead of #100. Its highest rank is just a top 30 instead of a top 20...but two more people joined its highest ranker in the top half. 19 bottom 25s - 12 of those are bottom 10s, seven of those are bottom 5s, and three are #100s.
