Let's break #88 down: all six of its top half rankers placed it in their top 35. Half of those are top 25s. And one of them is a top 10 - not just any top 10, but a top 3!

Meanwhile...six of its ten bottom 10s were bottom 5s, and one went as far as ranking it #100.

First and last time listen. No need to ever click on this again. This sucked beyond repair. On a different note. I can't believe I shared the same brainwaves with the majority, but I'm glad I did.

99. Cold, Cold Heart - Midge Ure
and like magic here goes one of my top half ranks. I knew our brainwave sync wouldn't last long. I kinda dug the Felix The Cat vibe.

98. Covered - Public Image Ltd.
I don't care if this guy was from Sex Pistols. This song was vocally wrong.

97. Tell It Like It T-I-Is - The B-52's
One thing is to tank stupid songs, but not fun songs.

This was royally bad. let's just get all the songs with this style of percussion out now.

I understand its weak for INXS, but I got those Morrison spoken vocals from Hutchinson this time around.

93. What Girls Want - Material Issue
This is just PULSE being PULSE. This was all kinds of awesome. No way I was tanking a song called "What Girls Want". First time listen too. OMG, Did he say the word "sex". Call the Vatican. Now I need an Exorcism. 

92. What's Good (The Thesis) - Lou Reed
Lou's vocals do little to me enthralled.

91. A Girl Like You - The Wolfgang Press
I'll be totally honest. At first this was at the bottom of my list, but slowly rose up the chart like some overstayed song on Alternative chart 2019. :kii:

90. Tell Your Sister - Lloyd Cole
I won't be tanking songs with this vibe. A better question is? Why is some techno industrial travesty still in here.

89. Honey Drip - Ian McCulloch
I had a feeling that of all Ian's song here you all would tank away the most sex related.

88. Something Good - Utah Saints
This is a bunch of noize and nothing more. Good it's out. Now get that other industrial garbage out too.

Nothing I was familiar with. Weak Percussion , but I really dug the vocals and the lalala's.

Not Sean Penn's brother. This is the most melodic I ever heard from Michael Penn.

100. Fabulous (98): A first -and last- listen. Clear bottom 5 song to me.

99. Cold, Cold Heart (64): This sounded more like a Disney type of song. but I have a soft spot for Midge. It was catchy enough too

98. Covered (83): Vocals and repetitiveness were but something about the high-pitched chorus hook got stuck in my head and helped it make it this far in my list.

97. Tell It Like It T-I Is (35): I've always been a B-52's fan even in the 90s and 00s, and never felt they've been trying too hard. This song wasn't a favorite of mine back in the day (instead, Revolution Earth was the second single off GS that made it to my personal chart, reaching top 5). However, I've grown to like it much better with time, especially after hearing it live. Kate does a great job as always, and even just for that reason it should've been higher

96. Good Stuff (19): Come on, guys!! This was a minor hit back home, and a personal chart-topper. I still love the music (percussion and sax especially) and melody, and I actually still listen to this quite often. I admit that Fred is an acquired taste, but this is just a good ole fun, party song (BOM BOM is typical Fred stupidity but that's part of the camp fun to me).

95. Visions of You (65): Another first listen. I initially had it in my 90s, but it =kept creeping up in my ranking the more I heard it, especially thanks to Sinead and the Indian-like musical influence throughout the song. It was a unique song in this RD at least, and an interesting discovery.

94. Shining Star (79): Unlike B-52s' I didn't get this attempt by INXS back in the day -or now. It felt like a half-assed song that they cooked in a few minutes with no further thought. Very underwhelming. Amongst my least favorite INXs singles ever.

93. What Girls Want (59): I had forgotten about this song... The more I re-heard it, the more I liked the rawer rock vibe of this, including the guitar sound. It went from being in my bottom quarter to floating around #60.

92. What's Good (73): I remember wanting to like this one back in the day... the beginning sounded promising but then it didn't go anywhere and got very monotonous and uninspired as the song continued. Kind of a disappointment for Lou. My familiarity with the song helped it escape my bottom quarter in this RD.

91. A Girl Like You (82): I would've ranked this a bit higher if the lead vocals were acceptable... interesting first-listen, though.

90. Tell Your Sister (95): This was another first-listen and it was just too simple and boring.

89. Honey Drip (91): Idem. Actually, only a couple of days ago I learned that Ian was the frontman of Echo & The Bunnymen. This was a disappointment. Not my lowest ranked Ian song in this RD, though.

88. Something Good (33): I assumed it was gonna be tanked, but this was one of those early 90s guilty-pleasure dance tracks that I loved back in the day. The music / production was ace IMO.

87. Window Pane (85): This was catchy, but not enough for me to rank it higher as a first-listen.

86. Seen The Doctor (88): I actually had this in my 90s most of the time, but it got a bit better with repeated listens. My LOVE for No Myth made me listen to this with high expectations --that weren't met as this was just too simple and uninspiring.

By the way, 1991 was the first year I started to listen to our rock radio stations. Before that I'd only listen to English and Spanish pop and tropical music. But the #1 pop radio back home started to transition out of anglo pop and into tropical songs, with songs like It Must Have Been Love lasting about a year in the top 15, which was kinda nonsensical to me. I was very glad I veered into modern rock music, as there were LOTS of great songs that I wouldn't have heard otherwise. A good number of personal top 2s in 1992 came from the rock charts, including the song of the year in my personal chart. So this was a very important, transitional year for me.

Out of the first set of Extras, I've only heard:

- It's A Fine Day: a personal top 5, and a favorite early 90s dance track. This is THE definitive version of this song to me. This would've made my top quarter of this RD.

- I'm Too Sexy: duh! a personal chart-topper with all its ridiculous pop glory :) I liked the follow-up even more, though: Don't Touch, Just Kiss.

- Mercury: This one didn't make my personal chart, but I grew to love it with time. The nostalgic mood of this song, shaped by the combo of guitar, vocals and drums is very cool, as several of Ocean Blue's songs. It would've been in top 50.

- It Won't Be Long: I ranked a couple of her solo material in the 80s, but this wasn't as strong as those songs.

Making Plans for Nigel - Primus
This is a band I consider Hot/Cold. I even put them at #1 one with their Black Sabbath cover. Anyway, this is already an XTC classic how bad can it be? Fortunately they kept their brand of weirdness to a minimum. FYI I would have ranked this one pretty high.

Them Bones - Alice in Chains
Another AIC classic that I would also rank high on an Active list. This is also one of my favorite Mvs since they really look like a fierce Rock band.

Drag - Steve Wynn
I forgot we are doing alternative. This one's alright. Music is way better than those vocals.

It's a Fine Day - Opus III
LOL! This is house music. Enemy to 80's Latin Hi- Energy music. Automatic tank on Doc Indie Party Rock list.

Unsung - Helmet
I think I like it a little more each year. Always thought "John" Helmet had a bit of Ozzy in his vocals. One week at #29. That's a pretty high debut. How you fall off without a trace the very next week?  8D

Acid Drops - Public Image Ltd
Way better than "Covered", but still not classic material. I have a Sex Pistols cassette tape in my collection. True Story.

It Won't Be Long - Alison Moyet
Classic vocals make me like this one slightly more than I would, but call me back when we rank "Don't Go" and "Situation".

Mercury - The Ocean Blue
I have enjoyed every song that I have discovered by this band on these rds. This one is no exception. It has that classic 80's New Romantic vibe. His vocals are flawless.

I'm Too Sexy - Right Said Fred
This has a classic novelty song status. Mainly because of the WTF vocals and lyrics, and chicks in MV, but I do not like this style of music one bit. Easy bottom 10 and you would just have to deal with it.  :kii:

4 Men - Kitchens of Distinction
Cranberries with male vocals. This is pretty good. You can tell they are English. You can always count on the British for great modern Rock vocals.

Snacks and Candy - Miracle Legion
Music is pretty good. Vocal delivery didn't convince me tho.

Call Mr. Lee - Television
I'll just give it thumbs up, because of who they are.

It's All Right - The 25th of May
What the stank was that?  The month of May should have sued this band for misrepresentation.  This would be my new ,and improved #100 song....and hopefully everyone else's too. 

Only Shallow - My Bloody Valentine
Shoegaze/goth/post-punk whatever you wanna call it. It was pretty damn great. F U C K ing guitars in this are mesmerizing. Needless to say 'My Bloody Valentine' the movie? Iconic. Original not that modern day travesty with that Final Destination guy.
