it's like the #1 spot is limited to 14 or 16 weeks. no in between. maybe i'm just trippin tho And before "You Light Up My Life" in 1977 stayed on top of the Hot 100 for 10 weeks nobody though that was possible either; since every long running #1 song before that had never made it past 9 weeks. It's only considered impossible until it happens. Will "Old Town Road" make it to 17 weeks at #1? I think it has a good chance but I don't know for sure; nobody does. But even it if doesn't happen, it's only a matter of time before another song and another artist is successful at doing it. If life begins in August1958 then yes then 9 weeks was the standard through the late 70s, go back further then you have a few in the 10 to 13 week range

What’s that Jocelyn Donald remix of “OTR” on iTunes chart? How many remixes are there?

I'm well aware of the pre-Hot 100 singles that were #1 for longer than 9 weeks.

Looking at the current numbers OTR is getting on YouTube and Spotify at the moment, to be getting 80m+ weekly streams still means it must have great numbers at Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon, etc.? It's doing well in all streaming services, but it seems like Amazon is its strongest on-demand service right now. Amazon: BRC version is #1 and the original version is #29. SoundCloud: Original version is #14 and the BRC version is #24. Pandora: Original version is #2 and the BRC version is #28. Apple Music: BRC version is #12, Young Thug/Mason Ramsey version is #22 and the original version is #147. Spotify is only 37% of OTR's on-demand streams and 13% of its overall streams.

^Thanks. And someone mentioned version of "Bad Guy" with Bieber is lumped with the original version? Does that happen often on the Spotify charts?

Ahh, OK- thanks. Was probably just for Thursday then.
Based on Spotify info in the top 200, BG had 2.72 million on Friday, while OTR had 2.2 million.

Didn't someone say it could have no airplay and still be on top with the streaming advantage?

Didn't someone say it could have no airplay and still be on top with the streaming advantage? In 12 of its 14 weeks at #1 OTR didn't need sales/airplay to be #1 on the Hot 100. In week 15, it might need and in week 16 it's gonna need for sure.

^Well, it will have airplay, thus it's here nor there. :) No personal investment in it breaking the record, as lots of records are being broken/will be broken the way the charts are nowadays.

So do you guys think OTR will at least tie the record or will Bad Guy dethrone it one week short?

This is the US Spotify Top 5 for Friday if you count all versions of the songs combined. "Bad Guy" seems to have a strong lead.
2,720,078 Bad Guy 2,200,425 Old Town Road 1,779,784 Goodbyes 1,730,418 Señorita 1,497,766 Beautiful People

flex- week 16 tracking just started. If OTR has lots of user-generated video streams on YT, to go along with the streams of the various videos, that would probably give it the advantage for the week.

"OTR" remix is taking off at iTunes today. Not sure if that's normal for the weekend or not.

If "OTR" takes over the rest of the week, it will lead for the week.

Bad Guy is doing really good numbers on Spotify and Apple Music but that's about it. It's already falling on Youtube and we still don't know how many views are from the US (probably not many of them). Also it's stable on iTunes, now selling a little less than OTR.

Wait... now Apple Music is combining bad guy's streams from all versions. They usually do this with clean/dirty versions, but not with remixes.
