Christina's second album that was released on June 15, 2004 in Japan, and July 13, 2004 in the United States by Island Records. This was her first album to be released in the U.S. since her debut one in 2001 was cancelled due to 9/11, and her deciding to start over with a new album.
The album peaked at #14 on the US Billboard 200 album chart and #21 in the United Kingdom, selling a total of 382,000 and 63,708 copies respectively. The album achieved Silver certification in the UK, and received a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary R&B Album. The album's lead single, "Dip It Low", became Milian's most successful to date; peaking at #2 on the UK Singles Chart and #5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart; it eventually went gold. The second single "Whatever U Want" was less successful, peaking on the UK singles chart at #9. The critical response to It's About Time was mixed. The club tracks, most notably "Dip It Low", were praised, however the ballads were said to be disappointing.
What are/were your fave tracks from the album? Mines are Someday, One Day (pretty relatable) and Highway. Sadly, there weren't that many notable highlights, other than the singles, for me from the album, imo, but it was a MUCH better effort than her first one.
Dip It Low: #5 Hot 100, #1 Dance, #16 R&B, #2 Top 40
Whatever U Want: #100 Hot 100, #6 Dance, #91 R&B, #35 Top 40

The era of inexplicably reducing your best songs to bonus tracks on International versions of your album. Hands On Me was utterly sensational.

I bought this album off of the strength of "Dip It Low" and it practically never left my portable CD player back then. I used to always skip "I'm Sorry," but in recent years it's become one of my favorites. Other highlights for me are "I Need More," "Whatever U Want," and "Peanut Butter & Jelly."
It's a shame the era was so short, although I doubt anything from the album would've been as big as "Dip It Low." Overtime, I've come to prefer her debut (I love Bloodshy & Avant), but I still like this one more than So Amazin'.

I've listened to it again over the weekend, and I'm starting to appreciate it more than when I had listened to it the first time. I really like Get Loose, Oh Daddy, L.O.V.E. and the international bonus tracks. I think the critics were way too harsh on this album. It wasn't really a bad album at all. It was a much stronger effort than her debut.
