'Revenge of the Dreamers III' Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart

Revenge of the Dreamers III opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning 115,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending July 11, according to Nielsen Music.
Of that sum, 23,000 were in album sales. The multi-act 18-track hip-hop project boasts the Dreamville label’s roster of acts, including Dreamville chief J. Cole on eight songs.

Revenge was released on July 5 via Dreamville/Interscope Records and follows Revenge of the Dreamers II (released in 2015), and the Revenge of the Dreamers mixtape (2014).

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new July 20-dated chart, where Revenge of the Dreamers III debuts at No. 1, will be posted in full on Billboard's websites on July 16.

The new Revenge III set easily surpasses the peak position of Revenge of the Dreamers II. The latter debuted and peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard 200 dated Dec. 26, 2015. (The first Revenge of the Dreamers set did not chart.)

The Revenge III tracklist is populated by J. Cole and his Dreamville artists Bas, Cozz, EARTHGANG, J.I.D., Ari Lennox, Lute and Omen. Additionally, more than 25 other guests are featured on the set, including DaBaby, Ski Mask the Slump God, T.I., Ty Dolla $ign and Vince Staples. The tracks were recorded during a 10-day session in January, where more than 100 artists and producers were invited to write and record songs for Revenge III.

At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, Billie Eilish’s former leader When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? moves up one spot, with 50,000 equivalent album units (down 3%). Chris Brown’s Indigo slides from No. 1 to No. 3 in its second week, with just under 50,000 units (down 54%), and Lil Nas X’s 7 falls from No. 2 to No. 4 with 49,000 units (down 21%).

Machine Gun Kelly clocks his fourth top 10 album, as Hotel Diablo checks in at No. 5 with 39,000 equivalent album units (with 16,000 of that sum in album sales). He previously visited the top 10 with Bloom (No. 8 in 2017), General Admission (No. 4, 2015) and Lace Up (No. 4, 2012).

Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You ascends one rung, returning to its No. 6 high, on the new Billboard 200, earning 32,000 equivalent album units (down 10%), while Khalid’s former No. 1 Free Spirit descends 6-7 with nearly 32,000 units (down17%).

Post Malone’s former topper beerbongs & bentleys climbs 16-8 with 25,000 units (up 5%), likely due to increased attention the artist has received courtesy of his new single “Goodbyes,” featuring Young Thug, which was released on July 5. (The song is not on beerbongs.)

Luke Combs' 'This One's For You' Ties Garth Brooks' 'No Fences' For Third-Longest No. 1 Run On Top Country Albums

Luke Combs continues atop Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, as his debut LP This One's for You spends a 41st week at No. 1 on the July 20-dated survey. It reigns with 22,000 equivalent album units earned (down 11%) in the week ending July 11, according to Nielsen Music.

The set ties Garth Brooks' No Fences, which posted 41 weeks atop the chart starting in October 1990, as the third-longest-leading album since the list launched in 1964. Just two titles have spent more time at No. 1: Shania Twain's Come on Over, which dominated for 50 weeks beginning in November 1997, and Randy Travis' Always & Forever, which ruled for 43 weeks starting in June 1987.

Since its release on June 2, 2017, This One's for You has earned 2.3 million equivalent album units, with 499,000 in traditional album sales.

The set previously made history, as Combs became the first artist to send his first five Country Airplay entries, all from the album, to No. 1, between May 2017 and this April: "Hurricane," "When It Rains It Pours," "One Number Away," "She Got the Best of Me" and "Beautiful Crazy."

Meanwhile, Combs' latest release, The Prequel, ranks at No. 3 on Top Country Albums (14,000, down 14%), after the five-track EP debuted atop the list dated June 22. Lead single "Beer Never Broke My Heart" keeps at its No. 3 peak on the airplay-, streaming- and sales-fueled Hot Country Songs chart. On Country Airplay, it pushes 5-3 for a new high (32.8 million impressions, up 1%).

'COUNTRY' CHART DOMINATION Blake Shelton's "God Country" returns to No. 1 on Hot Country Songs (2-1) for a seventh week at the summit. It dethrones Blanco Brown's debut hit "The Git Up" (Trailer Trap Music/Broken Bow Music Group/BMG/Wheelhouse/Stoney Creek/Broken Bow), which dips to No. 2 after a week in the top spot.

"Country" leads Country Airplay for a second week (39.5 million impressions, down 1%), while holding at No. 2 on both Country Streaming Songs (13.3 million U.S. streams, up 7%) and Country Digital Song Sales (17,000 sold, down 9%).

DEBUTS "One Thing Right" by Marshmello and Kane Brown arrives at No. 15 on Hot Country Songs, with 9.1 million U.S. streams and 4,000 sold.

Plus, Kenny Chesney's new single, "Tip of My Tongue" roars onto Country Airplay at No. 20 (12.4 million impressions) and Hot Country Songs at No.40. Written by Chesney, Ross Copperman and pop titan Ed Sheeran, the song was released on June 12 and boosted in its first day by hourly plays on participating iHeartMedia radio stations.

Chesney earns his 90th Country Airplay entry, tying Garth Brooks for the second-most, after George Strait's 99. Chesney achieves his fifth-highest debut; his most recent, and record 30th, No. 1, "Get Along," opened at No. 19 in April 2018.

Willie Nelson leads the charts for a third week in a row with his fantastic new album Ride Me Back Home. Luke Combs is 2nd with This One's For You while Chris Stapleton's Traveller sits at #3. Thomas Rhett's Center Point Road is at #4 while Carrie Underwood's Cry Pretty is at #5.
