Can you name a hit song with an animal sound in it, real or fake? For example, Loving You by Minnie Ripperton has birds chirping in the song, and Werewolves of London, by Warren Zevon has a fake wolf howl in the song.

If you watch "Rocky III", then Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" has a tiger growling in it. However, that was a demo; the animal is not heard in the radio/retail hit version.

Sorry for not explaining my answer Leona haha, basically I thought those extra sounds at the beginning verse of "What Lovers Do" were animal/nature sounds lol.

Aaliyahβs βOne In A Millionβ has crickets as part of the beat. Missyβs βSock It 2 Meβ has birds chirping. The clean version to Ludacrisβ βSaturdaysβ replaces some gun references with dogs barking.

Damn - got the wrong answer again. - LOL
I thought I would pass this time - with a classic Christmas song with actual animals on lead vocal - oh well
But to answer you question - Depends on what you think a hit is.
Using the Hot 100 as the time period and ruling out most Christmas songs as "hits" - then no - Largely because Christmas songs had chart restrictions for the longest time
Released in 1955 - that alone probably disqualifies it since it was before 1958 - wiki says it hit #22 but can't seem to find the magazine to back it up. When it was rereleased in the early 1970s it hit the Billboard Christmas Singles Chart - which means you would not see it on the Hot 100, but it was referenced in the AT40 Christmas countdown in 1973
Also - Joel Whitburn lists this as a "Classic Non Hot 100 Song" - Which that alone probably disqualifies it
However this next one also released in 1955 is listed at as charting - same group
So - I guess not - my bad - was not aware of the criteria.
- listed in AT40 trivia as one of two songs in the rock era, not spoken word, vocal or instrumental to chart- - Might not also meet your criteria since it also didn't appear on a Hot 100
