Back on power on KIIS Los Angeles and they played it twice in a row (#1 on AT40 and top of the following hour, no commerical break). That's another 0.5 AI.

Solo female songs with 100+ top 10 days on US and UK Spotify:
Cruel Summer, Bad Guy, Good 4 U, All I Want for Xmas is You, Kill Bill, Rockin Around the Xmas Tree
Putting aside the last song since it's always overshadowed by the other Xmas song, it'll be disappointing if Cruel Summer fails to ever top either nation.

It is still doable in the US (I think, would highly depend on fans cause I doubt Taylor or Taylor Nation will even lift a finger for this no more). It is unfortunately starting to crash on UK Singles Charts, down to #20 this week. |

All of her other #1s reached the top on release week or music video release week. I think Taylor Nation rather see this peak at #2 than need ‘help’ to go #1. If the streams rise throughout the week like movie soundtracks often do (Barbie) and with an extra 10k sales (already seeing strategic buying) this is it’s best shot.

The remixes were clearly created before the song came out and were just delayed because week 1 was totally in the bag this time. And it was week 3, not week 6. And the sales were inflated a lot by online fans convincing themselves they had to buy extra copies to get a better chance at concert tickets. |

Wbk that Taylor's alleged chart obsession is 95% stan delusion without any basis Her chart obession is basically always for debut week to help songs/albums get established. Cruel Summer is a certified hit already so #1 is just for bragging. |

This must be the closest Cruel Summer has ever been to #1. It's been really close like 5 times over the past 3 months but it's usually been like 10-25 points away, not 1-5 points iirc.
