Fourth single from True Colours, released in the summer of 1987. The single version was a remix with a more subdued vocal performance. She wrote this about a friend who died of AIDS. Majorly underperformed, peaking at #71 on the Hot 100.
This is one of my favorites by her. I prefer the album version. The vocals on the single remix take some of the life out of it.

Love this, one of her more underrated singles. The live version from Live In Paris will always be the it version for me though. She is so underrated as a vocalist, absolutely sang her ass off that whole special.
