Beautiful performance. I still don't think it's the best single choice but it certainly showcases a different side of her than "bad guy", "all the good girls go to hell" or my preferred single choice "my strange addiction".

Hopefully the studio version doesn't feature Satanic rituals in the back round. These three from her debut EP don't smile at me might be a better way for you to meet a poppier, not as dark version of Billie. |

A lot of these are characters she's playing.
"bury a friend" is meant to be from the perspective of a monster that lives under your bed and tackles sleep paralysis.
"bad guy" is also meant to be some sort of character.
The "when the party's over" video can be a bit disturbing but the actual song isn't.
Even "bellyache" sounds poppy but it's about a murderer lol.
If you watch her interviews she seems like a harmless kid having fun. Some of the baggy clothes and looks are also deliberately picked to avoid sexualising her image, which she doesn't want.
