so happy "Beer For My Horses" is out, used to love this song and enjoy Willie Nelson on this but overplay has killed this one for me. Love the final 9 though, no complaints on anything remaining!

"I Wanna Talk About Me" bows out next. I think that this song could easily come off as a bit of a novelty, like gonecountry said. But I am thrilled that y'all didn't see it that was as a whole, because this is one of my favorite Toby Tunes!!!! I am SO glad to see this be a top 10! And tbh, it was never really not a top 10 contender. Literally almost everybody had this in their top 20, except for a couple 30ish ranks...and then kw9461 with a random ass #60

I can still see you when I sleep. There is a picture I still keep; You with your hair in the wind, And me with that crazy grin Under a summer sky When dreams where too young to die.

"I Wanna Talk About Me" is the jam that keeps on jamming!!!! This song has NEVER gotten old and never will. Fantastic melody, instrumentation, and damn Toby NAILED the rap-sing style of the verse. Total earworm.
"We Were In Love" is gorgeous, especially that chorus. It wasn't in my top 10 but I'm by no means upset to see it in the top 10.

"I Wanna Talk About Me" definitely overstayed its welcome IMO but then again I know it is one of those songs that has its fanbase hence why radio still plays it a lot. I remember there being somewhat of a riff at the time of its release because quite a few didn't like it but Toby's response always seemed to be "Yea, well Bobby Braddock wrote it so..." and that is something that I still can't wrap my head around sometimes....I mean the same guy that gave us "He Stopped Loving Her Today", "Golden Ring", "Texas Tornado" and "Time Marches On" gave us this! Yet, despite my ranking I still somewhat think of it as a guilty pleasure.

"We Were In Love" is one of Toby's most underrated singles. I LOVE the melody to this song, the way it builds and builds higher and higher over the course of the chorus Plus I love the way Toby sound here. This is a very unique song for him, but he kills it! This fell out of the top 10 pretty early on thanks to George Strait Junkie and Kanenrá:ke's weird ranks, but everybody else put this in their top 20. Once it managed to make its return to the top 10, it didn't look back!

I could've died drinkin', now I'm killing myself. Now I'm feedin' the dog, sackin' the trash, It's honey do this, honey do that. I sobered up, and I got to thinkin' Girl, you ain't much fun since I quit drinkin'.

Pleasantly surprised to see "We Were In Love" make it into the top 10...I probably would've guessed it to be a top 20 contender but wouldn't have thought it to make it this far. Not complaining though because it has always been one of my favorites from Toby at that time in his career which IMO remains quite underrated.

"You Ain't Much Fun" is quintessential '90s Toby. The hook to this song, "I sobered up, and I got to thinkin', girl you ain't much fun since I quit drinkin'" is arguably one of the most well-known hooks from the '90s (Almost as well known as LET FREEDOM RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!!!)
I am a little surprised to see this in the top 10 because Pulse sometimes has a love/hate relationship with raucous uptempo songs like this, but when you look at how iconic it is within the context of Toby's catalog, it absolutely belongs here.
Stay tuned to find out how the rest of this plays out!!!! Here is the top 6!!

Oh I know "You Ain't Much Fun" is probably overplayed for some but I can never get enough of it! The hundreds of times I've probably heard it come on the radio I can't ever think of an instance where I didn't want to hear it all the way through.
Ohhh and we're left with a cliffhanger of suspense about what won't make the top 5...how nice! I'm going to guess it's going to be either "How Do You Like Me Now?!" or "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This".

"You Ain't Much Fun" is a good ol' country jam!!!! The instrumentation and vocal arrangement perfectly captures a sound of country that makes me feel some type of way lol. It's just a high-quality, yet light-hearted and fun, deliciously traditional country jam. I couldn't justify ranking it any higher, but I still absolutely adore it.

Honestly thought I'd have some company on that one. That song has always annoyed the crap out of me. The massive overplay just put the icing on the cake. It is an earworm, so I see why some like it, but it's one of the only songs from Toby's prime that makes me turn the station if it comes on.

Glad we got rid of "Beer For My Horses" and "You Ain't Much Fun" so I can be happy for whatever wins. "I Wanna Talk About Me" should've went farther, but I'm not surprised.

Hope you get to feeling better soon; I myself have been under the weather the last few days and the weather 'round here ain't helpin' matters any... Just to pass some time on my end, I'll go ahead and predict the remainder of this for kicks and giggles! 6. How Do You Like Me Now?! 5. Who's That Man 4. You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This 3. Dream Walkin' 2. Wish I Didn't Know Now 1. Should've Been a Cowboy

She took my new sunglasses and my old jean jacket, And she never even bothered to ask. You could say I haven't seen her since late last summer, But every night she comes back. Just like smoke through the keyhole, She slips in so silently. Oo, she's walkin' around in my sleep.

"Dream Walkin'" is the unlucky victim to fall just short of the top 5. This song is SO good, but tbh I didn't expect it to last this long! Consider me pleasantly surprised This is another one of those songs that never seems to get old. The guitar riff is so catchy, without being as in-your-face as the riff from something like "I Wanna Talk About Me" or "How Do You Like Me Now?!" This sort of sound is really underrated from Toby, so I am very happy to see this song do so well!

WHAT!?!!!?!?!?!?!!?!
I thought "Dream Walkin'" was a dark horse contender fro #1. Wow, rude. What a GORGEOUS song. Stunning vocal performance... stop you In your tracks lyrics. Just a masterpiece all the way around. SICK that this missed the top 5.

I think all but "Wish I Didn't Know Now" were probably #1 contenders, so I think it could be almost anything. Maybe "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This"?

When I took off to Tennessee, I heard that you made fun of me. Never imagined I'd make it this far. Then you married into money, girl. Ain't it a cruel and funny world? He took your dreams, and he tore them apart. He never comes home, and you're always alone, And your kids hear you cryin' down the hall. Alarm clock starts ringin', who could that be singin'? It's me, baby, with your wake up call. How do you like me now?!

Welp...that was not expected as along with LBTrocks I too was starting to think that “Dream Walkin’” might actually be a possible contender for the top spot. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be but I do wish it had made the Top 5 at least as it has long been a go-to song for me from Toby’s catalog.

I expected this to fail tbh.... knew there were some naysayers, AKA .indulgecountry who for some un explained reasons thinks this is trash? I love it BUT I will say "How Do You Like Me Now" IS overrated. Great song but no, it was never a top 10 contender for me... and top 20 was me being generous. Jussayin'

"How Do You Like Me Now?!" was the song that took over at #1 after "Beer For My Horses" got tanked from the top. This song stayed at #1 for several lists, but ultimately got tanked by just enough people to fall to the bottom of the top 5. This song was pretty much never not a top 5 contender though!
This song is the definition of quintessential Toby though. The attitude that he exudes in this song is legendary. Definitely a well-deserved top 5 contender!
