11. What will be the weirdest/most unexpected song that gets a #1 rank?? Flops for "Who's Your Daddy?"I was at this prediction... Did you actually know this was his #1, or are you just getting that good at predicting his floppiness???! Admittedly he had confirmed it for me previously but I already knew that was one of the random songs he stanned hard for going into this.

"Stays In Mexico" officially bows out next, as the final song to miss the top 30. I lose my very first top 5, but I am in good company as Flops' best friend/possible dupe account ChicaCherry콜라 also put it at #5. This song was split directly in half, with half the participants putting it in their top 30, and the other half not. Clearly you don't know about the drama that occurred in 2013 when I was banned for being a supposed dupe account only because I was from North Dakota Best friend, yes, dupe, fuck to the no. Have you seen our contrasting views!? Try making Flops listen to "Tequila" without throat punching and threatening death to those (me) who enjoy it. I've been OBSESSED with it since it was first released. It does Slay, it slays hard. In other news "Double Wide Paradise" is still magical. I was horribly obsessed with it back in the early 2000's and my love has not faltered. It's still the shibby and I will stand by my ranking.

Driving on that two lane road, hoping she might find A whole lot more waiting up ahead than what she left behind. Moving upstairs downtown. Life's too short to be hanging around. She's eighteen, and it's time she got out of the wood. She's getting out while the getting's good.

"Upstairs Downtown" kicks off our top 30. Honestly, I had no idea what to expect from this song! I am pretty happy seeing it get a lot of fairly positive reception among us This has always been one of Toby's most underrated top 10 hits. I think it might be the only top 10 hit of his career that I have never heard on the radio even once. I guess I was a little too young to remember when it was a single, and it has since been replaced by other songs from the same time period. gardyfan becomes the second person to lose his #1 with this release. Going back to my question of which song is the weirdest song that will receive a #1 rank, even though LBTrocks lost his #1 first, I think that this song is a way weirder song to have at #1 than "Who's Your Daddy" was. WYD definitely could be considered an iconic Toby song, whereas "Upstairs Downtown" just feels like such a random song to love that much! More power to you though, gardyfan, it's a great song even if it's an odd #1 :)

How are we gonna let go of something that's gone? Ain't it funny how a broken heart just keeps hangin' on, baby? You watched me walk away, And I set you free. But I come back to you, and you come back to me. I guess it beats being lonely, that's the reason why We give it one more try.

The chorus of "When Love Fades" is so gorgeous! The fact that this only made my low top 20s shows just how amazing Toby's catalog is, my entire top 20 is heaven. Hell, even my top 30 is pretty great. Love Toby.

"When Love Fades" bows out next, much to the chagrin of castleoblivion26 who put it at #2. However, I have a suspicion that he had no idea that this song was going to do so well here!! I personally thought this was at risk of finishing somewhere in the bottom 15 or so. This is one of Toby's only flops at radio in the late '90s/early '00s, and frankly just is not quite as well known as most of his other stuff. I believe the story behind this song is that it was his first single with the new label after he asked out of his old contract, and the label thought they would play it safe by releasing this song as the lead single, against Toby's wishes. It was only out for a couple weeks, and when Toby saw how slowly it was moving, he begged the label to pull this one right away and release "How Do You Like Me Now?" instead. The label was reluctant, because they saw that one as too big of a risk, but ultimately let Toby have his way. And the rest is history!!!! I think it is a shame that "When Love Fades" was not allowed to reach its full potential as a single, but ultimately for Toby's career you can't argue that pulling this one in favor of "How Do You Like Me Now" was probably a worthwhile move.

I LOVE "When Love Fades" and I knew ranking it as my #2 meant I was probably gonna lose it early but I am definitely surprised it made it this far. That chorus is incredible. This has long been a favorite of mine! I do think it is sad that this song didn't really get a chance at radio as I do think it could have been a hit for him had it been given the opportunity to do so, oh well.

"Country Comes To Town" is the second consecutive loss from the How Do You Like Me Now?! era, which until tonight had made it through unscathed. This song is classic Toby, but almost feels like it has been overshadowed through the years by other classic Toby songs. I love it, and once again the horns give it the perfect amount of oomph, but I feel like this is leaving in a good spot. This song came close to not having a single top 10 or bottom 10 rank, but the #56 rank from toomuchboy I guess barely qualifies as a bottom 10. Still, we seem to be reaching the point in the rankdown where more and more songs will be tanked by their middling ranks rather than low ranks. Other than one noteworthy exception that is somehow still in, of course... Lmao

No, I don't want to talk about what we can do about us anymore. The only time you will be wastin' is the time it takes to walk right out that door. Yeah, you talk about water under the bridge. You should know by now, girl, that's all this is.

Then God smiles down from up above; The money rolls in, and they fall in love. From the outside looking in it's a dream come true. But as time goes by something turns up missing. There's not enough hugging and not enough kissing. Before too long better do what you gotta do. You know...
Oooh gotta getcha some, gotta getcha some, gotta getcha some. Oooh gotta getcha some... Babies!

"Getcha Some" is a ridiculous song, but it is very catchy! The way that the story progresses is actually quite clever. I was also not expecting to see this one be able to escape the bottom 20 or so, so I am PLEASED with this placement!!! This song did not get any top 5s, but it did receive a whole slurry of top 10s from austin, ClevelandRox, toomuchboy, and gardyfan. Almost half the participants put it in their top 20, which explains how it was able to do so well despite receiving a fair amount of low ranks as well. This was the 5th most polarizing song of the rankdown.

How on EARTH did "Getcha Some" make it so far, above jams like "Who's Your Daddy" no less????
That song is so NOT good, ugh. I used to like this back in the day (I blame me being young and dumb) but my gosh it is pretty dreadful now, not gonna lie. Horrid vocal arrangement (Toby sold it the best he could but I don't like how this sounds at all) it's sooooo drab and lifeless, and out-of-tune but not in a quirky or interesting way, just an annoying way. In retrospect, I probably still ranked this TOO high.

I was actually going to make a post about how I knew Getcha Some was coming any reveal, but didn't want to jinx it. I love this song. It could've easily swapped with another song and been in my top 5. If it wasn't for the video in the day, I might not even be so familiar with it (never heard it on the radio). So, thanks CMT!

I actually had mixed feelings about where to put "Getcha Some". I was really into it when the '98 Country rankdown happened, but something changed when this was pitted among the rest of his singles. I think this go round, I was more turned off by the excessive talking in the verses despite the more infectious yet repetitive chorus.
I may have underranked this by just a little bit.

Wow, I've never seen this before but I had to watch it because y'all were hyping it up... and now I'm really confused because that whole video was suuuper cringe. I get the concept but the execution was so uncomfortable seeing him get all up in her face staring her down while singing like some creep, and it felt like the video drug on and on and on. The twist wasn't funny either... plus how'd she just get up and out of that chair to walk away after he finished? None of it made sense. It worked when Reba tried a similar concept for "Turn on the Radio" (minus the twist), but this video made me want to go take a shower afterwards.

I felt like I underranked “Who’s Your Daddy” in the 2002 YE Rankdown so had to make up for it here because this song is such a fun and infectious listen that I always get wrapped up in jamming out to. Again, this is another one of those songs that only someone like Toby could really pull off and make it work because I would never expect or want to hear something like this from say the likes of a George Strait lol (although he’s got that perfect sense of humor where he could actually pull this thing off too). And speaking of LBTrocks next time you see your man Michael Ray you should see if he’ll cover this one just for you I liked “Stays In Mexico” a lot more back in the day than I do now, but then again I agree with our illustrious host that this really is a silly song to sing along with to. I’m more curious about who or what inspired Toby to write such a scandalous song such as this one! Even though “Upstairs Downtown” cracked the top 10 back during its run this has always been one an underrated gem from Toby’s discography. I love everything about this song and remember seeing the video quite a bit on CMT. I really enjoyed re-visiting this song and happy to see it make the top 30! I have no idea how well “When Love Fades” would’ve ended up performing had it not been pulled, but looking back it was probably the right move to make at the time. I think all that Toby ever wanted was for the labels to finally trust his gut instinct but they never seemed willing to take that risk and that’s exactly the moment when his career took off to superstar level. I’ve always enjoyed this one and especially love the chorus. “Country Comes to Town” is a JAM, JAM, JAM! I knew this one would have its share of detractors but happy to see a few others join me in putting this in their top 20. I’ve long loved “A Little Too Late” and the fact that I couldn’t even put this any higher than my top 30 shows how strong I think Toby’s songs are overall. This received a lot of airplay during its time on radio in 2006 and I think I even still hear this one every now and then. And I see nothing cringeworthy about the video…in fact I find the twist to be somewhat self-deprecating and just overall funny. Oh and it goes without saying that it helps that this song is co-written by the great Dean Dillon! On the flip side of things I actually didn’t really care for “Getcha Some” when it was first released but something about the cleverness of the song clicks with me now. This probably made it further than I was expecting it to as I wouldn’t have picked it to be a top 30 contender.

"Love Me If You Can" brings us to the end of the Big Dog Daddy era. This was the #1 hit off the album, and everybody except 4 people put it in their top 40 here. Kanenrá:ke loses a top 2. I am the lowest ranker, but it wasn't even in my bottom 10, making this one of the very few songs we have seen so far to not have anybody that hates it. tim gets a perfect rank here!

I'm gonna rock you, baby, to sleep. I'm gonna make you crazy over me. I'm gonna hold you like you've never been held before, And love you till you tell me you can't love anymore. I'm gonna shake your emotion right down to your soul, Then I'm gonna love you all over and then out of control. If this is how love is suppose to feel, Baby, I know I've fallen head over heels. I'm gonna rock you, baby.

"Rock You Baby" bows out next, and I am SO happy to welcome this song to the top 25!!!! This is one of his more-forgotten songs from the early '00s, because it is yet another song that got yanked from the radio in favor or something else. This one was in the top 15, knocking on the door of the top 10, when Toby was like "OMG this is taking too long we need to put our "Beer For My Horses" instead!!" So the label trusted his instinct, yanked this and put out BFMH, and the latter ended up becoming one of his biggest hits of his entire career. This song is incredible though, and I have always found it incredibly underrated, so I am so thrilled to see it do so well here
