"Made in America" is such pandery BS. I can't believe it lasted this long. Yuck. At least "American Ride" is humorous.

"Made In America" is the second #1 hit to leave the rankdown. This is also most likely going to go down as the final #1 hit of Toby's career.
I think this one is really catchy, and give it the slight edge over "American Ride". (Literally slight edge. I ranked them right next to each other!) The description of an old farmer who loves and supports his country no doubt gave a voice to a wide swath of country music fans who have otherwise not felt very well represented by the country genre in the last decade. You can totally see why it was such a huge hit!
Of course, some may see it as pandering for a hit, because by this point in his career Toby was pretty well known for his patriotism...

I don't want to cry, I don't want to walk the floor. This mobile home Don't feel like home no more. Since you left, tell me what else can I do. Just come back home. Forgive me and forget it. This bed I made, I'm tired of sleepin' in it. It's freezin' cold, and baby that ain't cool.

THIS was what I was expecting my first top 10 loss to be lol!
Anyway, Dream Walkin' is my favorite Toby Keith album and I always thought "Double Wide Paradise" was fantastic. That CHORUS! It's amazing. I love the verse and pre-chorus too tho, just everything about it is stellar. Glad it made it as far as it did!

Lmao I am SHOOK that "Double Wide Paradise" managed to do so well here!!! I have always loved this song, but the vocal effect at the end of the chorus is very weird, and the chorus is super repetitive, so I didn't think many people would love it here. Plus the fact that this is one of Toby's only flops from his early career, as it fell off the charts after a #40 peak, so people don't necessarily have the nostalgia for it that they do for other '90s jams. In fact, this was his very first flop! Super happy to see how well this one did!
I guess this answers the question about which song would do better between this one and "When Love Fades"...

I have a confession to make...I was literally obsessed with “Double Wide Paradise” back in the day and despite my ranking I still somewhat think of it as a guilty pleasure. I actually expected this one to be out much sooner so am pleasantly surprised to see it make it this far. That said, this probably hasn’t quite aged as well for me and when put up against Toby’s other songs I really couldn’t justify putting this any higher than I did.

"Somewhere Else" leaves us next. I may be the lowest ranker of this song, but tbh I do enjoy it quite a bit! I only put it so low because I tend to forget about its existence. There is nothing actively bad about it (hence it being the first song of the rankdown thus far to not have a single bottom 10 ranking!)

I was just listening to “Somewhere Else” the other day for the 2011 YE Rankdown and I just don’t find it to be all the memorable as I always forget how it goes. It’s an easy going listen that I always enjoy, and yet I never really have any desire to come back around to it again.

Yes, I have sacked some quarterbacks And broke my share of bones along the way. I knew it wouldn't last forever; Semi-pro always means semi-payed. I started climbing drilling rigs. I'm oil field trash and proud as I can be, yeah. Then I took my songs and guitar And sang 'em for a man from Tennessee.

We take a jump back into the mid-00s and say goodbye to the title track of his Honkytonk University album. This song celebrates the tough life of musicians who have to claw their way to the top in order to get their music heard, playing in bars nonstop while working other odd jobs on the side, and yet never losing hope because they are doing what they love. I must confess I am a tad surprised to see this song miss the top half, but then again this is not one of his better-known hits from the '00s. With this song, George Strait Junkie is the first person to lose a top 5 in quite awhile, while ClevelandRox and Kanenrá:ke came in right behind him with a #6 and #7 rank respectively. The majority of people however put this in their 40s, which was not enough to get this song any higher than the middle of the rankdown, because the bar for quality is getting very quickly higher the higher we get in this rankdown.

Where do they go? They come here To drown in their sorrow and cry in their beer. They’re in need of a mindbender. I’m a bartender, And at the end of the day I’m all they’ve got; Hope on the rocks.

"Hope On The Rocks" is a way better song than its chart performance and longevity would indicate. It unfortunately came at a time when his career was winding down, so it got paid dust despite being one of his best releases in years... Similar to what I said about "I Like Girls That Drink Beer" from the same album era, I think this one would have been a huge hit if it had been released a couple eras earlier :'(

By the way, with the elimination of "Hope On The Rocks", there is now only ONE more song left from the current decade!!!! That song is "Bullets In The Gun" Can anybody predict how much longer that one will last?

"Bullets in the Gun" is at least his best '10s single so y'all got that right, but it better not be coming for a little while yet. I'm still stunned that there were so many low ranks for "Hope on the Rocks." That is a great song right there.

She jumped up and grabbed my pistol, Stuck it in the fat man's back, Said, "Open up the safe And put your money in the sack." Then tied his hands behind him And put a blindfold on his eyes. Said, "If you're dumb enough to chase us, man, You dumb enough to die."

Lol unfortunately this is the end of the road for "Bullets In The Gun", right as .indulgecountry is lamenting how this song better not leave for awhile... This also proves to be the second top 10 loss in a row for him. "Bullets In The Gun" is such an amazing song! It tells such a picturesque story, which literally plays out like a movie. I am always blown away when I realize this wasn't a top 10 hit, because this is another one that probably would have been a multi-week #1 if he had released it in his prime! I am appalled at how this song got treated here, as it absolutely deserved a spot in the top half of this rankdown...

Anyway, "Who's Your Daddy" leaves us next, and takes away LBTrocks' #1 in the process. This is definitely an iconic Toby hit! It is the 3rd #1 hit to leave us, and takes us right back to the heart of Toby's prime, when he was on fire thanks to the recent success of songs like "How Do You Like Me Now", "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This", "I Wanna Talk About Me", "Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue", etc. This song is not very substantive lyrically, but it is served up with Toby's signature bravado. I can totally see why people might not like it, and tbh making the halfway point is way better than I was expecting for it! However, I think this song is a fun listen. I don't consider this among my all-time favorites from him, but it is still a solid song that I would never skip.

"Stays In Mexico" officially bows out next, as the final song to miss the top 30. I lose my very first top 5, but I am in good company as Flops' best friend/possible dupe account ChicaCherry콜라 also put it at #5. This song was split directly in half, with half the participants putting it in their top 30, and the other half not. Honestly, I know it might be a floppy opinion for me to have, but I think "Stays In Mexico" SLAYS!!! This song is among my very favorite Toby Keith songs I love everything about it. The melody is fantastic, the horns give the arrangement the perfect amount of vibrance, the lyrics are fun and deliciously scandalous without being as stupid as you might expect from a song like this, the story is well-crafted... You feel like you get to know the characters, and their motivations and backstories. While they may not necessarily be the most desirable characters (ex: the man blatantly cheating on his wife), they still feel very real. And ultimately, this is just plain such a fun song to sing I'm so glad it was able to finish pretty much at the halfway point, because I would not have been surprised if it had been much, much worse!

11. What will be the weirdest/most unexpected song that gets a #1 rank?? Flops for "Who's Your Daddy?"I was at this prediction... Did you actually know this was his #1, or are you just getting that good at predicting his floppiness???! I had told him lol. But I'm not the one flopping here... "Who's Your Daddy" is classic Toby. I can't believe it's so disliked on here. It's literal perfection. The melody is ridiculously infectious, and only Toby could truly pull off the quirky vocal necessary to make this song a total earworm. The arrangement is really great, every inflection is delicious and there isn't a single part of the song that I don't absolutely adore. It's too bad we don't have more actual Toby stans participating in this because this would have made it WAY higher had we. This should have at least made the top half, hell it should have made the top 10, but thank GOD it didn't get tanked in the 40s or 50s like I was expecting.
