The video is also giving me strong Iggy Azalea vibes. Funny enough they both are very parallel in their careers right now. Iggy wishes she could get 10 spins on radio while this has over a hundred before it even goes for adds. Kesha's last album was critically acclaimed. Iggy's was cancelled. I don't see the parallel.

I don't know if it's part of the plan, but they're really not pushing it hard on iTunes and streaming. Maybe they want it to slow burn and start pushing it gradually. She's performing on Kimmel tomorrow with Big Freedia, hopefully that would help.

More so it’s two girls rebuilding their careers, mastering their visuals, coming back with some of the best music they have done yet, focusing on female empowerment, and they both love a good blonde wig and a dramatic music video. Also, Iggy’s album wasn’t cancelled. Came out months ago. They both are coming back with a fire under them with an attempt to rebuild. My comment had nothing to do with radio. Yes Kesha has more support there.

How is Kesha "rebuilding" her career? Rainbow was a critical and commercial success....

I mean, the music video for this song had several elements that reminded me of Iggy's for "Started" earlier this year.

How is Kesha "rebuilding" her career? Rainbow was a critical and commercial success.... Yup. It's a weak comparison at best. They're vaguely in similar situations if you ignore significant details, but once you start digging, there really isn't anything similar about their situations past "female that had to take large time off career recently returns to not as prominent results." The why of that time off is drastically different. The peaks of their original fame is drastically different. The success of their returns is drastically different. And most importantly, currently at this point, Kesha is no longer in rebuild mode. Rainbow was her rebuild. Her tour was a major success and she scored one of the most prominent hits of her career off of it. Obviously it was no Animal or Warrior, but look around. No one from Kesha's peak is smashing like they were then either aside from Drake. Her rebuild mode is done. She's in maintenance mode. Iggy, however, is still rebuilding. And she's doing *okay* with it, but nowhere near to the extent Rainbow successfully put Kesha back on the radar. If we're going to be comparing Kesha's career to anyone, Iggy might be one of the closest (though Kelly Clarkson seems a bit more apt), so I understand why Iggy's name might be brought up since Pulse loves to compare for some weird reason. But the problem is that Kesha's situation is wholly unique. Any comparison made is going to be shoddy at best. I do see some Iggy comparisons in visuals, though.

This fell 109 spots on Spotify today. Still top 20 on iTunes though. I hope this at least charts.

Big difference between her and Iggy is that most people like Kesha and are supportive of her. Iggy got canceled as per the current cancel culture

How is Kesha "rebuilding" her career? Rainbow was a critical and commercial success.... To each their own. I still see her in rebuild mode. And I use the word “rebuild” endearingly because I think Kesha can still build off the (great) foundation Rainbow set. Rainbow also had a lot of its success due to people knowing her story and turning it into support. I know I pre-ordered the album solely because I wanted my dollars to go to her art and message, it was less about the music she gave us. Now, I was pleasantly surprised with the album but my pre-order was a vote for her. We all know how fickle this industry is at the moment (especially to female pop stars), so I think she needs one more killer album to solidify she can still be here and pave her own way in radio (if that’s her goal to get radio / album sales). I see this album as her chance to really take back some of the pop landscape (this is off to a solid start, minus streaming and shoddy playlist adds on Spotify). In her own interviews she’s said she’s excited to deliver a bunch of pop bangers and this could be a big moment for her ... maybe even bigger than Rainbow, if done correctly.

If I had to compare Kesha to anyone it'd probably be Carly Rae Jepsen -- both had huge smash hits, were underrated in terms of their talent, and managed to carve out niches for themselves thanks to their songwriting skills.

Kesha has scored airplay hits after her peak, Carly hasnt. Also you can't compare their peaks. Kesha has a few #1 songs and around 10 Top10s. Carly is not even close.

This is false. Kesha has more Top 10s than CRJ has songs that have even charted on the Hot 100.

I love Carly but Kesha has way more hits than her, in her prime Kesha was able to notch eight consecutive Top 10 hits and she has 3 #1 singles under her belt. Despite not being in her prime anymore, Rainbow still did better than all of Carly's records in the US and Praying reached #22. Definitely can't compare them.

THESE UPDATES!!! I'm so happy for her. After all this time, she deserves the success. Also, "Raising Hell" has grown on me a sh!t ton, and I'm obsessed with it now. Looking forward to the album.

I'm a little concerned about its updates. Its second day was nearly +150 and now it's barely getting over +100s and not really growing from that (though thankfully not decreasing much either). It looks great now because it's the first week, so there's nothing to go up against, but we're currently looking at an 8th day of -200 and a 9th day of -50 and that's troublesome. If things don't improve, this time next week it will basically have a bullet close to 0. Hoping tomorrow's update starts a trend upwards as we hit its adds date.
