This is phenomenal. I was skeptical after seeing comparisons to βRun Away With Meβ and βInto Youβ, but I literally havenβt been able to stop listening to it since it was released.
βPhysicalβ, as well as everything else weβve received this era (that artwork!), just feels like such a moment for her and itβs cool to see her coming more into her own. Canβt wait to see what she brings next.

I canβt stop listening to this. Iβm officially a Dua stan. I hope they do a strong promo blitz once Donβt Start Now peaks. Physical deserves to be her biggest hit.

Irene Cara would be proud. I like "Flashdance...What A Feeling," but from 1980s songs this made me think of Michael Sembello's "Maniac." I wonder if "Flashdance...What A Feeling" is the only title to have words separated by an ellipsis (three dots) but not a space. Normally titles have an ellipsis and a space or end with an ellipsis. Dua has power in her voice that you don't normally get from dance music. Breaking down the value of a song into vocals and music, I think this has a higher percentage from vocals than "Flashdance...What A Feeling." I was kinda thinking of "Breakdance" when I gave the Irene Cara shout out . "Maniac" is also a great example. For your second question. about the ellipsis? Two Britney Spears songs. "Oops!...I Did It Again" "...Baby One More Time" Green Day had the most recent with "Father of All....."

The bridge on this is f**king amazing! This might end up being my favorite song of 2020. Dua Lipa is securing her spot as a gay icon with this song. Honestly I'd love for that bridge to be a post-chorus, repeating the chorus at the end and adding another post-chorus might have made the song even more perfect This is a wild comparison but Dua Lipa might have been her Music of the sun and this is shaping up to be her A Girl Like Me (obviously both with less success overall) Is she becoming the next huge thing?

I'd say Dua Lipa was a bigger success than Music of the Sun and A Girl Like Me, especially outside the US.

Iβm ready for the return of dance pop w/ high budget cryptic music videos! Dua needs to become the next βIt Girlβ of pop music.

For me the only way this could be better is if she had added in some higher harmonies/belts in the last chorus to make it stand out a little bit more.
But itβs still pretty much perfection.

I'm hearing a bit of Ladyhawke's "My Delirium" in the first verse, and "Applause" in the chorus part. This is such a grower!

This currently isn't predicted to debut on the Hot 100 this week... Actually, it's predicted by Simon to debut in the 60s range, which is still a win because the track hasn't been confirmed as a US single yet.

I feel like "Don't Start Now" is going to overpower this for so long that any possible success won't happen. "Don't Start Now" still has plenty of steam, even though this is the better song.
I feel like their best bet is to keep this as a promotional single then send "Break My Heart" as the official second single around the album release.

Debuts at #30 in Australia while Don't start now rises from #4 to #2.

I donβt think they are going to waste all the budget of the video for it to be a promo single. They better push this , i donβt want another βInto youβ situation...

Yeah this feels like a wasted opportunity for a huge follow up single because of timing. Even in Europe, where DSN has already peaked, it still has plenty of steam and feels like the current single. So itβs not like North America was soooo slow and they needed to rush release another global hit. This was released too early across the board and is being overshadowed, when they could have waited a month and turned it into an event release.

This was stuck in my head yesterday. I think "Don't Start Now" is better than this, and I'm unsure if that will change. But I really like the production and verses/chorus. Very good song.
