I don't really need to give my thoughts on any of the songs, I like all of them (yes, even my #17).

In our last reveal for tonight, we see a song that beat out our #15 song by only 5 points!

I've spent every mile missing you, baby It's enough to drive me crazy "I love you"s from hotel rooms. They sure do make it tough But they always bring me back to you.
I've seen California and the fields of Oklahoma From thirty thousand feet, can't beat the view Crossed the Mississippi, watched the mountains over Tennessee Become a Carolina sky that was so blue

With this reveal, we see 7 people lose a Top 10 rank, with 3 of those people losing a Top 5. HeyHeyHey George Strait Junkie and I say good riddance to our #17 while someguy and bboat11 score a perfect ranking. This is one of those cases where it's great lyrically, but executed horribly. This is easily the worst song this album can offer imo.

This is easily the worst song this album can offer imo. “Nothing Like You” is a great country song! I love the steel in it and the chorus melody.

Some part of melodies in Nothing Like You sounds like We Were...

“All Over Again” being out so early is so random. I guess we don’t like country songs with beats around here :(

I liked most if not all of the songs from the album…with the exception of “Angels Workin’ Overtime”. It was also about the only song that I didn’t really want to revisit. In that sense it was an easy last place for me and I’m quite pleased it is also the first song to exit. “Blue Collar Boys” never really stood a chance here both because of the song title and lyrically it probably isn’t one many here can really connect with. Having grown up in small town America myself I do find that I’m able to relate to the song in some ways, and as the saying goes “You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy" lol. Admittedly I didn’t care much for “All Over Again” on the first or even second listen, so given that I’m not too surprised it’s out already. That said, this was the one song that grew on me the most and I found it kept getting stuck in my head. By the time I finalized my list it had made it all the way up into my top ten and just one number away from my top five. “Nothing Like You” isn’t a bad song by any means, but this is one case where the overall length of the album hurts songs like this because they just kind of tend to blend in. And as taylor is terrified mentioned it’s the production that holds this one back the most because lyrically it’s quite strong.

I never thought a picture was enough break me down I never knew a king size bed was just another place to drown Or how lonely lonely sounds But man, I get it now.
I'm learnin' somethin' new every day All about goodbyes, about overs All about hang-ups and hangovers Things I never knew about me I'm findin' out now since the Day you made us go our separate ways

I'm still absolutely livid after Nothing Like You got knocked so early. I literally shut my phone and went to bed after that because I didn't want to get anyone angry, but let's just say that song was absolutely robbed.
Anyways, yes, let's get this thing on! I'm ready for one song, in particular, to be eliminated already! I said it before, 3 songs deserve to go immediately. Everything else is up for discussion.

First to go tonight at #13 is "New Every Day." This saw a bit of support with .indulgecountry losing his #3 along with three other Top 5 placements including my own. However, that just wasn't enough for the amount of low rankings this song received. fearlessarrow loses his last place and bboat11 picks up a perfect ranking as many people place this in their bottom 5. I'm quite disappointed to see this song out so early! What the hell?! This song is wonderful and easily deserved to be in the Top 5 imo.

This song is really good, but the fact that it took me a few listens to notice it is what hurts it. I can't explain it but it just took a little while to get into. I guess with an album this long a song or two is bound to get lost in the shuffle.
I'll admit this is a top 5 song on a normal album. I think for a Luke Combs album it fits pretty well at 13.

Up next, the song with the 3rd highest standard deviation! For those that put this at the high spectrum of your lists: I'm gonna need you to explain why ;)

We all got our reasons, just like you When you walked out of my life when you didn't have to You send me reeling, there's nothing I can do About you takin' my heart and breakin' it right in two So if you see me soaking in these thoughts I'm thinkin' Drowin' in some bar room off the deep end

"Reasons" is a painful loss for George Strait Junkie and tim who lose their #3. This received a slew of #6 placements (6 to be exact) and four #16 placements. No last place rankings here, but no perfect rankings either. This song is just one of the cases where it just sounds the same as a lot of better songs on this strong record. It's good but could've been better imo.

I'm gonna go ahead and stop there for now since nobody's here and I can't keep my eyes open. I'm gonna take a nap and if there's more activity on Pulse when I wake up I'll keep going! For now here's a recap: 17. Angels Workin' Overtime 16. Blue Collar Boys 15. All Over Again 14. Nothing Like You 13. New Every Day 12. Reasons

Yeah, I am not a fan of the verses on the song at all. By that, I mean the lyrics that just seem to list random anomalies in the world that you may just bring up to a friend on a Saturday night when you're bored of watching the same thing on TV for the millionth time. It seems like Luke didn't even try to explain them, but rather put them off to the chorus, which, even though it is much more powerful, just makes the verses stick out even more like sore thumbs.
This was the final song I wasn't a big fan of. Everything else has Combs written all over it and I can't wait to see the high standard deviations from all the different tastes here on Pulse.

Wtaf @ "New Every Day" & "Reasons" being this low?! Both of these are some of the best melodies on the whole record. What a mess. And that half-demo mess "Dear Today" has long overstayed.

I completely agree with everything except for "Dear Today" as that one really resonated with me. With that said, I was already anticipating a few disappointments along the way and both of these losses were two of the biggest letdowns for sure. As you mentioned both of these songs have some of the strongest melodies of the entire album and I can foresee at least one of them being released as a single at some point. There's one more song that I'm hoping makes it into the top ten, but based on how things have gone thus far I'm not holding my breath.

Luke Combs literally rhymed "you" with "to" in Reasons...lol I guess I could see how something so innocuous as rhyming those two words could annoy someone, but what does that have anything to do with the overall song though? I could go back and dissect a hundred other country songs and probably find examples such as these, including Chris Stapleton’s “Millionaire” who rhymes the words gold with sold and shine with mine. Just seems like a rather head-scratching reason to not like a song. Anyways, this remains one of my favorite songs from the album so I’m still feeling a bit salty it left this early lol.
