I don't know who JID is but I wouldn't have guessed Young Thug for a feature...not for Doja. I am excited for this, but I don't know if I can buy the CD if money is still going to Dr. Fluke. Tho, I guess one and done is better than streaming proceeds.

Will the physical media actually be available upon release this time? I never got the Hot Pink vinyl (saw too many reviews complaining it was a bad press) and I don’t think any of her projects were released on CD in America.

How many units do you think it could do on debut week? I’m pretty sure it will at least do 100k, but honestly I have no idea how far it can go. The sales won’t be high but she will do great on streaming, and the Ariana-Abel features will help for sure

well, when Halsey opened with 239,000 units for Manic, her tour ticket sales and merch bundles helped her greatly, which are out of the equation now. 

my guess for Planet Her is something within the 100k-150k range. Megan Thee Stallion's album opened with 100k in November, and I think Doja should be able to pull in better numbers just based on her pop appeal. (idk where Megan ranked in November but right now, Doja is the #11 artist on Spotify while Megan is #47.)

I’m happy the underdogs from Dreamville and TDE are getting more attention and its not just J Cole and Kendrick appearing on everything like from 2015-2019. Although it would be interesting how they would actually play out if they collaborated with Doja.

Same. And Good News didn’t have a smash hit like Kiss Me More (Savage and WAP all belonged to different projects and Don’t Stop didn’t do much really) or big names like Abel and Ariana. The appeal is def more

Rn I’m predicting it could —potentially— even get near to 140-150k, but we’ll see. On the other hand, Ariana made just 175k on her debut week so I’m not expecting Manic numbers either. She could surprise tho

It’ll be hard to get the #1 for sure, but Tyler is also kinda unpredictable since he had bundles with his last album and he isn’t getting the same hype

I do wish we got a female rapper featured on the album,Tia Tamera still goes off so like I'd happily take another Rico Nasty collab

Also Grimes being in the music video for Need To Know kinda makes me also wish she did a song with Grimes.

The features definitely for this album are tailored for mainstream taste which is boring but I'm still interested just not as much as I would be had she gotten someone not on the mainstream scene.

This, Streets especially was my favorite on Hot Pink and some of my favorites from Amala are Morning Light & Wild Beach

I do hope we get songs of the R&B vein on the record,mainly praying that You Right is an R&B duet between her and Abel

my thoughts on the previews:

"Naked" - sounds like a bop. the muted reggaeton flare is infectious.
"Pay Day" - didn't a review say this was hyperpop? it sounds like a Kim Petras tune, pretty much regular pop with a little more edge.
"Get Into It (Yuh)" - not sure about this one. the rest of the song might change my opinion but currently my least favorite.
"Love To Dream" - come on vocals! like this a lot.
"You Right" - I will eat this up. absolutely.
"Ain't Shit" - this one is promising but I want to hear more of the lyrics before I decide.

I will buy this and be complicit to Dr. Puke. Fuck it. I want to support this woman however I can and hopefully, after this album makes her an even bigger star, she can break free. For all I know, she may be trying. I wish I could get a physical in store but after my crazy wait times for Taylor Swift vinyl and a year for Kid Cudi's recent album, I ain't doing anymore direct artist sales. If I can't get you from Amazon or Target, I will still buy you, but it will be iTunes, LOL.

Finished the album and I have to say it's a consistent record but Hot Pink had higher highs. My favorites were Options(fire ass beat and flows) Ain't Shit (comedy gold), Need To Know (horny hoe bop), Kiss Me More (pop anthem of the summer), I Don't Do Drugs (Harmony heaven chorus), and Naked (tropical hoe bop). My least favorites were Imagine, Been Like This, and Get Into It.

I'd probably rate the album a 7/10, also I'm upset we didn't get harmonization on You Right which means 2x in a row they fucked that up.

This was a solid listen the whole way through and I don’t really dislike anything but it’s definitely the commercialized product that is to be expected after her breakthrough. Hot Pink is a bit edgier, more dynamic and creative in comparison to me but I do like the album overall. I also wish she was rapping a bit more because I think she’s a much better rapper than “singer” but it’ll be in my summertime rotation regardless.
