I’m conflicted with this situation because Doja Cat signed with Dr Luke before Kesha came forward with everything. She’s contractually stuck with him and I don’t think it’s fair to ruin her career over something she has no control over, let alone a man’s disgusting behavior.

As for artists who signed with Dr Luke after the allegations came to light, I gotta give them the side eye because they knew what they were signing up for.

Even if Dr. Luke didn’t sexually assault Kesha (and that’s a massive if), he has a history of taking advantage of artists. Becky G said she was pressured by Luke to promote Core Water early on in her career (she was 14 when signed to Kemosabe), fearing he would destroy her future success if she didn’t. Who else is currently promoting Core Water (despite the fact she isn’t even signed to Kemosabe)? Kim Petras. G.R.L. & Katy Perry have also promoted it.

Multiple artists ranging from Becky to Kesha to Charli XCX have all discussed how Luke has body shamed them. About XCX, he said, “she better lose some weight if she wants to be a pop star”.

He’s simply not a good person. I’m super torn about what to do (specifically with Petras - I’ve been so desperate for a trans woman to get success that I really don’t want to discount her), but I know I don’t want to put money in his pocket. Hell, that’s why this song has only reached 13 on my personal chart when I know damn well it would’ve been top 5 months ago if I let myself listen to it.

Personally I don't care too much that Luke produced it because even though he's a really bad human being in general he did an excellent job here. The only thing that can make me stop bopping to this all the time is if it gets deleted from Spotify or something crazy like that

Not to make excuses for her, but she signed with him prior to the Kesha case. When she started gaining steam on her own he randomly began to pop into her work. Suspicious and not at all surprised but she is probably stuck with no other choice

Luke is involved in her next Urban single "Like That", so naturally this would be brought up again. (And then if they are going to push "Rules" to radio at some point...that song is also produced by Luke.)

I personally don't feel like it's necessary to reject this song, simply because I believe Luke is earning so much more from Teenage Dream, Animal, "Party in the USA", "Since U Been Gone", "Who Knew", etc.

As a pop music lover, it's simply impossible to remove those from my library.
