OK can we get this song out of the top spot already? Other than Memories racing up, kind of a boring week.

Yeah overall streaming is increasing. Look at the Spotify Daily Top 200, the songs towards the bottom are getting more streams

Beyond the Hot 100's top 10, notable songs reaching new highs include SHAED's "Trampoline" (16-14) and Jonas Brothers' "Only Human" (19-18), while Lil Baby's "Woah" is the chart's highest debut, at No. 19, fueled largely by 24 million streams, as it launches at No. 1 on Streaming Songs, marking his third leader on the survey.Jesus this is unbelievable. Apple Music is really making Spotify look irrelevant. Spotify still contributes about 50% of the paid streams, on average, for songs on the Hot 100. And people still stream music on Spotify a lot as well. Just because a lot of other people choose to use Apple Music does not make Spotify irrelevant at all.

Woah has the lowest total for a streaming #1 since September 2016 when Closer was #1 with 23.1m streams. It's also the lowest a streaming #1 has been on the H100 since January 2014 You would think streaming #s would be going up, not backwards hitting 2016 numbersHas there been any discussion about how as radio audiences shrink, streaming numbers may be more spread out amongst all songs? People are listening to what they want, and it's not necessarily the same select group of songs? I guess that would make sense and explain why numbers in general are lower (even on the Hot 100), but I don't have the data to back it up. The top 10 is also all pretty close, point-wise, right? What are the lower rungs of the streaming chart looking like in terms of hard numbers? Perhaps the lows aren't as low, relatively speaking? No you're right, overall streaming is definitely up overall and is being spread out more. Still the #1 song being so low is surprising considering just a month ago, I believe, the whole top 10 on the streaming chart had around the same or more streams than what Woah has this week. Just a weak period right now.

Theoretically a song can have like 90% of its streams from either platform, AM or Spotify, and it doesn't make the other less relevant in the big picture.
If large part of Lil Baby's fans, or Tory Lanez's for that matter, use AM then he's doing better there.
Harry Styles for instance gets better numbers from Spotify.

Has there ever been a bigger musical scam than Milli Vanilli? Two young men with a subpar music skill, with the help of lipsyncing, winning a Grammy for Best New Artist? I hope Fab Morvan is doing well right now. Black Box & C&C Music Factory pulled the same stuff. But the Grammy blew the lid open on the entire scam and, fortunately, ended that bogus practice. What's tragic is that the 'real' singers were actually quite good, but didn't have the 'image' that the label thought could sell. Yeah. It's a shame when style wins over substance ...

Yeah, streaming looks like it's being spread out among the lot. By the way- "Woah!" looks to have more paid-subscription-based streams than some below it- "Someone Like You," for instance, has more overall streams, though is ranked No. 7 on the streaming chart.

Real McCoy was another one. And Corona. And Cappella. And Snap. And Whigfield. So basically almost all of the 90s eurodance acts. And then one can argue, where J Lo has got some of her vocals from LOL

Apple Music is really making Spotify look irrelevant. Tbh, I prefer Spotify’s range of diversity than AMs domination of urban songs. Every new week is some album bomb on AM that I ignore completely because the songs full up the chart space. Then by the time you get to a month later, it's back to back weeks of 4 artists with 20 something songs each, piling up that I don't even bother to listen. For this reason, I stream other type of music. AM is one sided.

Happy to have Scotland on top of US charts, now all they need to break free of "good ole England".

Another practice that was kinda stealth during the late 80s/90s was 'vocal blending' - Sheryl Crow once stated that she sang on a few major hits where her vocals were mixed with major 'singers' before she became famous. I think it's safe to say "J to tha L-O" has benefited from that practice - and that's OK - no one is forcing those singers to do that.

And that's why it was super harsh how they treated Milli Vanilli.

It's probably the same people, line up listening every week to welcome a new artist. Wish AM could reveal their streams and I don't think its that high. Wish AM could do EDM, Latin and Rock album drops. Wish AM could stop controlling the playlists. None of these wishes will come through!!!

Apple Music to me, seems to have the userbase who is most invested in current music. There is always someone gaining momentum with an entire album. Apple Music listeners go out of their way to listen to entire albums by a slew of people every week.
Spotify/Amazon Music/etc have those people who just passively listen to music. Playlist fueled, and album bombs are much more rare. Apple Music's audience is people who are actually engaged in pop culture and what is currently trending.

Based on metrics info available, that's a surprising early re-entry for "All I Want..." Then again, as discussed earlier, streaming numbers are being distributed more among the lot, so that could be a factor. In any event, indeed, here we go. :)
