Me: I can't believe I have to rely on an Australian to stop AIWFCIY. Tones and I: What about relying on a newcomer? Me: Aye, I could do that.

Iโd think regardless of someoneโs feelings about the song itself, it has to be seen as a great story for a 25 year old song to potentially be the first holiday song in 60 years to hit #1 while in its 25th anniversary year when it went for years without being eligible to chart. I mean, come the entire way on!

AIWFCIY will probably be at #1 for one week (if), I don't know how's that a problem for a Monkey song.

Is the 2.8m YouTube figure for "All I Want..." just for the multiple videos? There also would be audio and possible user-generated clips.
In that streaming article, Billboard's writer uses "listens"- as it combines audio and video, shouldn't it be listens and views?

Is the Festive version with Bieber counted for All I Want for Christmas is You? Back then it charted on its own as it was new but are they combined now like the remixes or still separate songs?

Lover did manage to set a new record low for a #1 in Digital Song Sales with 20k. I wonder if there's a new record low awaiting before the end of the year.

I like how some of the new debuts sound like a 2000's R&B vibe.
"Heart on Ice" "Show Me Love" "Jerry Sprunger"
I really hope 2000's R&B makes a comeback in the 2020s

Iโm just waiting for the first post-Christmas week. In December, the holiday songs come and murder all of the old hits fighting recurrency, and then they disappear, leaving room for tons of new peaks, huge jumps and debuts.
This year, almost 30 songs that werenโt charting the previous week entered the Hot 100 (roughly half were debuts). Silk Cityโs โElectricityโ had peaked at 93 after 6 weeks and re-entered the chart at 64!!

I remember Halsey snatching her first solo #1 last year the charting week after Christmas.

What's happening tonight? The chart histories are usually updated by now. I don't know what's happening tonight; I'm trying to update the watch list on another thread about hits that have been on the Hot 100 for 40 weeks and I'm still missing the updates for several songs, including Talk (which should hit its 40th week on this chart) and Dancing With A Stranger (which could hit its 44th week if it remains as expected).

We all totally thought weโd see Alicia Keys and T-Pain charting in 2019. Itโs 2019, the year where Panic! At The Disco will have three songs at the Year End (if you count โME!โ), the Jonas Brothers debuted at #1, Lady Gaga got her first #1 in years, and Selena Gomez got her first #1 ever. Not to mention that Billy Ray Cyrus of all people had the biggest hit of the year. Weโve learnt to expect the unexpected. Still, Iโm all for giving Alicia Keys more chart entries. โShow Me Loveโ is such a nice chill song.

Alicia Keys charting isnโt that surprising - she plausibly could have done that off of sales. Alicia Keys charting because of 21 Savage however - thatโs definitely on the wacky side.

Chart is usually updated by this time of day but it isnโt here yet Its not going to be, but imagine if they forgot to factor in the physicals for Circles (CD, tape, vinyl, all bundled with a digital code) and they have to publish a different leader than announced.

Even Though Iโm Leaving at number 11? Crazy! They gotta try a pop radio push, seems to have crossover potential if it can get that high off streams, sales and country radio.

Even Though Iโm Leaving at number 11? Crazy! They gotta try a pop radio push, seems to have crossover potential if it can get that high off streams, sales and country radio. To be fair, it got a massive boost from both the album release and CMAs happening in the same week. (He didn't perform ETIL, but the performance still drew lots of attention to the album.) All the while it took the top spot on country in the same week. That's loads of lucky timing. They're still fantastic numbers for sure, but it's likely going to fall pretty hard next week, and I personally don't feel the song should get a crossover push. Maybe it could work on the ACs, but it's just waaaay too country for pop playlists right now. Both in sound and in theme. I do think he could potentially pull off a minor crossover hit with something from the album, though, given his enormous popularity for a country act, if ever actually given a push, just not with this song.
